You hire me to help you balance out your magic, but you also do everything in your power to make everything harder on yourself. Which also means making everything harder on me.”
“It’s not my fault,” Clarke groans, blanket-wrapped feet slung awkwardly atop the air, precariously missing accidentally kicking down the atrocious amount of artwork lining the hallway, “Christmas is my busiest season- I can’t not work.”

So it should come as shocking for no one that their overachieving meant that actually being together on the night of Valentine’s Day would be almost impossible. It had fallen on a Tuesday in the middle of hockey season when Clarke had a basketball game to cheer for and Bellamy had a shift. “You could always skip the game,” Bellamy had suggested once Clarke had picked up on this massive flaw in the schedule. “You skip the game, I’ll flirt my way out of a shift.”
She’d rolled her eyes at his smirk. “Just because your boss is easily charmed doesn’t mean she’ll let you out of a shift on the busiest night of the year.”
“Valentine’s Day is not the busiest day of the year, it’s the second busiest. The busiest is Christmas Eve, Princess,” he had argued and thus, their planning had gotten off track because debating with him was her favorite hobby. It was very distracting, and by the time she’d thought to get the conversation back on track, Bellamy was leaving to go to work. -

Clarke realizes she's in love with Bellamy and freaks out. Finn comes back begging for another chance. Clarke is still freaking out, so she agrees. Bellamy freaks out. Clarke and Bellamy don't talk for half a year. Clarke catches Finn cheating on her. Again. Clarke dumps Finn. Again. Clarke wants to talk to Bellamy about it, but can't. Clarke realizes she's still in love with Bellamy, and freaks out some more. Harper rigs the Secret Santa draw so Clarke gets Bellamy. Clarke freaks out. Again.
Which leads us to now, with Clarke standing out in the snow outside the Christmas party, trying to figure out what she'll say to Bellamy when she sees him again.
