Instead, there loomed a tall figure, backlit by an unknown source of light. Huge wings were highlighted against the dim light, the vague silhouette of a human barely visible. But it couldn't be human.
He scooted back, sheets tangling around his legs.

Summary
Ortho assembles an unlikely cast of players to play Dungeons and Dragons. He develops a campaign to be played in the deeply immersive virtual reality simulator, Verdie, but something goes wrong! Riddle, Idia, Lilia, and Azul all find themselves trapped in the game, and must finish the campaign that Ortho made for them to get out. And to make matters worse, they’re all playing classes that go directly against their personalities!
