It was soothing to see Viktor untouched by pain or struggles of the day, for once without a crease between his brows or a cringed expression on his face. He looked somehow younger, curled to the couch’s backrest and clinging to the blanket that hugged his body tightly.
Suddenly, Jayce’s face felt warmer.
It seemed intimate, watching Viktor in such a vulnerable state. Somehow though, Jayce couldn’t quite bring himself to move his gaze away. He’d love to see his partner relaxed like this more often. But, he supposed, after what the Council had decided to do with their work, Viktor’s brows would be furrowed in stress even more often than they had been before…
He shook his head. There would be time for worrying later. Now, he needed breakfast.

Tav has once told him about a genre in human literature; an ancient, poetic kind meant to celebrate a romanticized, wholesome version of rural life. Idyll. He imagined his present surroundings looked much like the vision predicted – a clearing, calm and colourful, so full of life, hidden deep in the forest. Him, creature of magic, resting in the tree’s shade, enjoying the quiet of the sunny day.
And yet, surrounded by all the marvels of nature, the biggest muse was still the one lying by Halsin’s side.

“Of course, it wasn’t until years later that I really felt here at home,” Erik confesses, lips brushing against Charles’ skin. “When one beautiful telepath agreed to share his life with me.”
The past still haunts Charles every now and then. The images of Westchester, his sister, X-Men, all of his children – he supposes it will be a long time till he lets memories be memories, and even longer till the pain behind them fades, but he’s not bothered anymore. He has the life to focus on, peaceful mornings brightened by the sunrise’s colours, friends he made on Genosha, and the man he’s fallen crazy for. And it’s more than he’s ever dreamt of having.
“Lucky telepath,” he lets the words fill the air between them, his smile widening when Erik chuckles fondly in response.

“I was hoping you’d put this enhanced strength of yours to better use than with boring old books, in a more… intimate setting.” He leaned closer to Gale’s ear, mouth lightly tugging on the earring before whispering, “Daddy.”
Gale nearly dropped all the books he was holding, head snapping over his shoulder to look at Astarion, as if making sure it was him saying that word, and not some devil over his shoulder. Which in this case, might as well be the case. Gale stared at him, mouth opening, then closing, then opening again, akin to a goldfish.
Oh, to see his wizened wizard, normally so calm and collected nowadays, lose all composure—Astarion’s grin widened.
“Watch it, Astarion,” Gale finally breathed out, voice low and husky, attempting to collect himself again, “You might just find yourself on the receiving end of this enhanced strength if you're not careful.”
