Summary
Ilya rocks his hips up. “No, Hollander. Keep up. I want to meet your dildo.” He enjoys enunciating the word. Tries to give it a bit of a whiny Canadian inflection. “You remember? You told me about him, back in Vegas.”
Hollander blushes beautifully and says, “That’s private.”
“Hollander. I know the taste of your ball skin.”
“That’s—Jesus, don’t say it like that. I can show you, but. Only if you promise not to be a dick.”
“Best behaviour,” Ilya promises. “Will say only nice things.”

Summary
Now thirty-one, Hollander is sitting across from me on a soft leather couch, part of a home study in the Muskoka lake house he owns. (His parents’ cottage, the one from his childhood, is a ten-minute drive away.) It’s a tastefully decorated room, with big ceiling-high windows that let in plenty of summer light, and walnut shelves full of books — mostly sports-related. Hollander looks at home here, dressed in a loose pair of light-wash jeans and a plain navy t-shirt, which shows off his impressive arm muscle. Everything is just the right side of comfortably casual.
When I initially booked this interview, I expected to be asked to meet in Ottawa, perhaps even New York, as Hollander has plenty of sponsorship deals that keep him busy, even in the summer months when hockey is on a break. I expected to be fitted in, that is. The current Alternate Captain for the Ottawa Centaurs has never given access like this before, and, frankly, I was unsure how much he’d be willing to share.

Summary
One of the unavoidable aspects of being an actor is living with not getting the role. Wanting something, auditioning for it—sometimes many times—and then seeing someone else succeed. Because it’s unavoidable, Edvin always has a plan to handle it and the most important part of it is to not watch the piece and think about the acting choices he would have made. He can’t shadow play it. The other actor got the role, the casting agent and the director saw something in the other person that they needed and it wasn’t his role to lose, it was their role to cast. It wasn’t his.
Watching Omar date his boyfriend is testing all of these resolutions.
