Tears prickled at his eyes but, for the first time in a long time, they were accompanied by an overwhelming feeling of excitement. From within, he felt a building pressure that was unknown to him – as if he was going to burst from inside out. His heart swelled, his lungs threatening to burst, expanding painfully against his ribcage. His mouth fell agape. This was more of a surprise than he’d expected.
