heeseung and sunghoon stood by the main door, dressed in their most expensive suits, as they welcomed everyone who came in, directing them to the dining room. they scanned every face that went by with picky meticulousness, picking apart every feature and storing it in the back of their brains. even if most of the invitees looked like every other person walking out in the streets, there were a couple of them that definitely caught their eyes, for one reason or another -- a little girl with long, wavy, golden locks holding her mother's hand and hugging a stuffed teddy bear close to her chest; a man with icy blue eyes that seemed to look directly into the deepest corners of their minds whenever they locked eyes; a woman whose face wasn't particularly remarking, but her body was; and a young man with lips so plump that everything that came out of them sounded like the most delicious of songs, poems sung by the divine voices of god's angels.

jaeyun tried to breathe through the layers of his own scent veiling, but heeseung’s presence pushed at his senses like a pressure change. alphas felt different in Stormborn, almost earthy, unhidden and grounded. it made jaeyun’s chest flutter with instinctive caution.
an older alpha man with an oddly strong scent, stepped forward from heeseung’s right. he had a weathered look, wearing a heavy steel pauldron engraved with the stormborn symbol. he spoke loud enough that the entire dock heard him loud and clear as he announced him.
“second prince jaeyun of lyonesse. sun omega of the eight petals and bearing of the sand-crown lineage. presented from the south to his highness, crown prince heeseung.”

when jaeyun was brought to stormborn as a part of peace treaty he expected to hate the people he met there for the rest of his life. he didn't expect a complicated web of emotions both for himself and the people involved, especially not the mysterious crown prince, lee heeseung who had somehow deemed him unworthy.
