The whole dress was a deep teal that almost looked black if the light wasn’t hitting it perfectly. Covered in more black trim and beading, it was a gothic dream.

”It is almost time for the stage show, sir”, the vampire explains, in a voice that clearly states he does not want a fight, but with his hand still solid around Guillermo’s bicep. ”Your familiar gets to have a fun time with all of the other familiars, and then you can even join him on stage if you like, when they call for volunteers.”
”No”, Nandor tells the vampire, in a much more neutral tone than his earlier outburst. ”I do not wish for my familiar to be a part of the stage show tonight. He is needed here, to service me.”

Nandor and Guillermo are called upon to investigate the goings-on at a new vampire club where familiars seem to be the main attraction. They find out some things about themselves in the process.

“Ah,” Laszlo hums, ever-cheerful. “Then, I suppose you’re fucked.”

“Yes. You stopped by last week, I remember.” Nandor fumbles with his hands, looking around the little cafe. There’s barely anyone here. They can talk.

A new blacksmith comes to the pier, and Guillermo doesn't know what to do with himself. They take up a whirlwind situationship that gets complicated when he finds out the man is a vampire. Maybe it would be easier if Guillermo didn't want to be one so bad. Maybe it would be easier if Nandor didn't hate himself.
