The man who did it either has some massive fucking balls, or he's plain stupid. But he's right in assuming that forcing Soap into anything would leave him bruised and broken, and that's saying nothing of what Ghost would do to him if he found out.
The roofie makes sense from that perspective.

“Don’t.”
The word came out sharp, almost like a snarl.Viktor flinched at the intensity in his voice, but Jayce only clung tighter, his breath hot and uneven against Viktor’s skin. His wild, desperate gaze locked onto Viktor’s, his pupils blown wide, his grip bruising.
“Don’t say that. Don’t you fucking dare.”
Viktor swallowed, staring back with wide eyes; but Jayce wasn’t done. “I don’t care what you think you are. I don’t care if you think you're poison. You are not leaving me.” His voice cracked, “I won’t let you.” It sounded more like a sob than a demand.
Jayce trembled violently. His fingers dug into Viktor’s arms, nearly bruising. He let out a pained exhale, head dropping heavy onto Viktor’s shoulder. “You won’t leave… right?”
When Jayce wakes to find Viktor missing one morning from their cottage, he spirals into a panic that borders on madness, convinced that Viktor has left him for good.
