Summary
In the back of his mind, he scolded himself for the habit that he had yet to rid himself of over the last year. Even knowing what he now knew didn’t stop him for making sure no one was waiting for him whenever he entered his home. The department psychologist said it was understandable. He had been victim of a violent home invasion, even if it had been at the hands of one of the ‘good guys’ (also knowns as his current boyfriend, not that the psychologist knew that) and at least he no longer had to have a weapon in hand when he came home.

It's been a year since that night. It's been hard, adapting to the reality that the attack Dick endured a year ago was perpetrated by his current boyfriend. His therapist would have a field day with that fact. And the fact that it was apparently happening again.
