Henry had been so excited when he’d announced it to their little group, gathered one evening at the pub, that David was going to be coming over to the States. He’d gone on and on—an impossibly soft look in his eyes—about how much he missed him, and how great it would be to finally have him here, and how everyone would love him.
Alex has his doubts. He’s not jealous, because that would be absurd. Henry’s one of his best friends. It’s not— It’s not like that between them. He’s happy for Henry, truly.
He just doesn’t understand why Henry wouldn’t previously have mentioned that his boyfriend is a fucking shapeshifter.
(Alex isn’t exactly thrilled to meet Henry’s boyfriend David—obviously a shapeshifter—but what really bothers him is the fact that David refuses to show his human face.)

oh my gucking fuck fuck. can u tell i binged this in a couple hours?? because god almighty (atheist), this fic is a GIFT. like a G I F T.
I absolutely love it when I read fics that reignite the fire lit under my brain that burns purely for action and adventure to mix in with my bl fix, bc I just cannot escape that I've ALWAYS been a sucker for this genre despite the trillions of BL bookmarks I consume on the daily.
I really wanna fanfirl over chapter 2. can I fangirl over chapter 2 for a sec? because when I saw the chapter summary I kid you not a clapped my hands together, giggled, wiggled my toes and my knees in my seat, and then hunkered down because 5+1 things slot within a multichap fic was not something I wanted, no, not something I ever asked for, never even THOUGHT of, but 1000000%, something I very much needed. like NEED. like shot into my bloodstream right that very second or I'd self detonate (side tangent: when the Barista guy put the bomb vest on Alex, I misinterpretedit as a bulletproofvest but for bombs, so I had like a 10 minute break where I thought about how that would work, and why they'd put one on alex??? before I googled it. embarrassing. ) within 30 seconds of receiving that information.
ANYWAYS I LOVE WHEN FICS TAKE ME FOR WILD UNIMAGINABLE RIDES AND THIS ONE FULFILLED THAT AND EVERYTHING MORE, THE ENDING WAS SOOOOO TOP TIER OMG. LIKE I WAS LITERALLY ON MY KNEES FROM HOW GOD-GIVEN THE ENDING WAS. SO BEAUTIFUL UGHJJHJH. I love the full circle thing omfg. also I love the gripping climax thing before the resolution, this stuffs GREAT. anyways so I went to stalk the author for a sec bc I realised I've been reading a few of her works and seeing her in comments on other rwrb fics I've read, so this is now my sign to go throw myself headfirst into the authors main fandom, man from uncle (something like that I think) BECAUSW I ALWAYS THOUGHT SPY STORIES WERE KINDA EHH BUT THIS AUTHOR HAS CHANGED MY MINDDD LETS GOOOO I love the energy of this fic so its inevitable I continue this train.
