Peter and Wade have a very brief body-swap that leaves Peter reeling with what he felt in Wade's body - and what Wade clearly felt in his. Peter decides it's time someone took Wade's pain seriously. What use is being a scientist if you can't help your violent mercenary bro?

    Summary

Peter is a comic books fan, which is probably pretty weird considering he's an actual superhero, but whatever. He's made peace with it.

Now an adult with a full-time job to juggle on top of his Spider-Man duties, he doesn't have time to read most releases for his favorite characters, save for one: Deadpool. He keeps up religiously with Deadpool. Even has a poster of him on his wall, and even occasionally talks to that poster just to keep the crippling loneliness of his double-life at bay.

Deadpool's newest and most mysterious series, Deadpool: Arrival, is... strange. The plot is paper thin and pointless, none of Deadpool's usual crowd shows up, and his fourth wall breaks are... weird. Like, weird weird. Uncanny, some might say.

Or, really, one might say. Because the longer Peter reads, the more he begins to realize that all those fourth wall breaks, all those weird asides, seem to be tailored to one person, and one person alone: himself.

    Summary

As a ferryman, Wade’s Wilson role in the cosmos is to usher people from life into death. If asked how he feels about this profoundly important role that he’s played since the dawn of time, Wade would tell it to you straight: It is insanely, mind-numbingly boring.

    Until it isn’t.

No one is supposed to be able to see Wade until the moments leading up to their death. So how is it that Spider-Man keeps noticing him and then not, you know, dying? It makes no sense! Curious and more than a little intrigued, Wade gives chase and discovers that Spider-Man not only sees him, he likes him, too.

What’s a lonely, adrift ferryman to do but fall chaotically, consumingly in love with him?

    Summary

    There’s a Spider-Man in front of him.

Note the key phrasing: There is a Spider-Man in front of him. Not the Spider-Man. A Spider-Man.

Wade’s an observant guy. He knows that something fishy went down a ways back near the Statue of Liberty, and that something fishy happened as a result. But once they fixed up the Statue of Liberty, everyone moved on from it the way they move on from every freaky thing that happens, so learning much more than that has been harder than finding Blind Al’s hidden stash of cocaine. And Wade is also a busy guy, so unless he has some reason to care, he’s gonna make like his old man and fuck off about it.

This, though, might be a reason to care.

Three Spider-Men. One Dogpool. An unknown but concerning amount of Deadpools. What could go wrong?

[ETA: The "Spoilers for DP3" tag does not take effect until Chapter 6, for anyone that cares. Just a friendly FYI!]

    Summary

Peter Parker's life doesn't need an influx of new, distinctly spidery Spider-Man powers. He would gladly spend the rest of his days not creating tiny spiders from nowhere, for example. Like, in a, "yes please, I'll take two orders of the 'no spider-parenthood lifestyle,' hold the whip" kind of way. And that's only the start of how certifiably nuts his life has gotten lately.

But... okay, the spiders are pretty cute. And the other powers, well, aren't horrible. He supposes. And if Deadpool seems to think his new spidery skills are great and interesting and hot (which is weird, but not as objectionable as Peter would expect), that's... that's not so horrible, either.

Alternatively: Peter's powers are a joke, he's broke, and his love life... isn't all that DOA.

    ~*~*~

See author's notes for tag descriptions and warnings, but for real, this is a mostly cute, constantly comedic foray into spidery!Spider-Man life.
