The mission had started straightforward enough.
Andy and Booker were using less-than-legal channels to find “some liquor in this godforsaken dry country” when they stumbled, quite by accident, upon the edges of an arms trafficking ring. While they themselves often took shortcuts to get the weapons they needed, the body count of this unchecked operation was extreme, and they couldn’t, in good conscience, look the other way.
Before their leads dried up, Andy and Booker had determined that the ring leader worked in finance and frequented a particular social club.
That was where, forged membership papers in hand, Joe and Nicky first met Frank Morris, the man now set to host them at his luxurious coastal estate.

“Beirut ’88?” Nicky offers over the headset.
Joe sighs and risks a glance. Nicky meets his eyes for a fraction of a second, raising an eyebrow, before turning back to the road.
“Practical as always, my love,” Joe concedes and hears Nicky laugh. It is no secret this is not one of Joe’s favorites.
“See you soon,” Nicky promises, and Joe has just enough time to suck in a breath before Nicky wrenches his steering wheel and slams his car into Joe’s, crumpling the front passenger side and sending him flying into the sea.

“What is grailed dot com?” Shane reads out loud from the computer screen.
“How have you spent almost fifty grand on it in the last year?”
Ilya doesn’t reply.
“Is it a-” it’s like Ilya can hear the gears turning in Shane’s head, “Is it a porn website?”
Ilya laughs lightly, endeared by Shane's choice of words, “As if you would know.”
“Fuck you, I’ve watched porn.”
Ilya turns to face him, a look of pleased incredulity painted on his features. He watches as Shane processes what he just said and then shakes his head as if to rid himself of the trance. Shane both hates and loves these moments when Ilya gets him to say ludicrous things in his own defense. As if he even needs to defend himself.
Shane and Ilya talk about personal finance, porn and they are in love.
