Summary
“I had my eye on that bloody slice of cake all day and it’s nowhere to be found.”
Alex winces, his eyebrows drawing together. “That might’ve been me.”
Henry’s lower lip visibly wobbles. His whole face crumples just slightly, and he looks so heartbroken, so betrayed, that Alex’s chest twists with guilt. The look is also so achingly dramatic that a soft laugh escapes Alex’s throat before he can do anything to stop it.
“Oh, sweetheart,” he murmurs, already reaching for Henry and pulling him in.
Or: Henry is five months pregnant and craving lemon loaf cake. Alex, unaware, eats the last slice while Henry is running errands. So, Alex does what he's best at: fixes the situation he caused, even if it's with the help of a very flattered and generous elderly neighbor.

The door to the Oval burst open. Alex whipped his head up to see Prince Henry rush into the room, Zahara and Henry's equerry close behind. "Madam President," Henry said, "my name is Henry George Edward James Fox, and I wish to to formally request asylum."

Intrigued despite himself, Henry straightens up, a bolt of heat going down his spine when he spies the neon Karaoke Queen sign out the tinted window. A veritable storm of hazy memories flick through his brain: luridly bright kimonos, an inadvisable amount of vodka shots, an even more inadvisable moment in a bathroom.
“You want to celebrate this anniversary?” Henry asks, incredulous. “Is there a traditional gift for the first anniversary of bathroom sex? A new loo roll holder, perhaps?”
