Summary

i know this is now The JayVik Fic but i have one major critique (that i hesitate to even mention but whatever it’s MY bookmark note!). only because i’m borderline obsessive when it comes to grammar… HOWEVER i ignored my compulsive need to spellcheck everything for this… and it was worth it. i 100% understand (and was in part there for the development of) the hype and hysteria for this fic. it has an immense amount of heart and its plot development is pretty stellar, as are the characters. arcane as a show gives fic writers a lot to work with since it’s so character-driven, but that doesn’t take credit away from writers who are able to portray them effectively in other contexts and situations. i mean, the character creation/articulation is the star of the show for me, and i love that both viktor and jayce were nuanced and complicated in a way that made sense for their circumstances/actions/etc etc (other characters, special mention to jinx, are also included in this praise). anyways bravo to the creator for basically writing the jayvik bible

i didn’t even realize i read this writer’s first haobin fics back in 2023 until i read this and immediately needed more and saw those two fics in their works… 2025 so far has been me rediscovering haobin and it’s kind of lovely in a silly way to also rediscover ao3 user fragilities in this funny little journey. anyways—this was pretty incredible. obviously very well thought through, and with a lot of care… you can tell that this work and these “characters” got a lot of attention and affection and TLC and yeah. i don’t have that much to say (in a good way!), just that it’s lovely and wonderful. haobin in this are lovely and wonderful and so is ao3 user fragilities

Summary
It's fitting that he realises he loves Hanbin while he's watching him tear out another tribute's throat with his teeth. He had expected that it would be earth-shattering, maybe, something similar to the depictions in the romance novels he used to read. But Zhang Hao only traces Hanbin's form on the screen, his staunch refusal to cede victory, and thinks oh, I love him.
If only Zhang Hao knew winning the Games would be the easy part.

ummmm i actually read this as an epub bc i was on a plane and then annotated it because i’m crazy. my only gripe with this is that idk whether hao’s bed is supposed to be a queen or a double which… should tell you how good this is. i LOVEEEEE this hanbin characterization so freaking much and i really do love this relationship dynamic… also a beautifully written hao pov. ALSO i didn’t catch the fire symbolism until literally the last time it was used and i feel dumb (i love when writers make me feel a little dumb i can’t lie) this story is quite dark so read at your own risk but i adore this stuff. i even wish some scenes could be more graphic but that’s me being a freak idk and would maybe make this a little too gory than The Point requires. the ending is a little unrealistic in my mind but i also haven’t consumed anything hg in a while so in that regard my brain’s suspension of disbelief-function is a little broken and that’s probably my fault. anyways this is great. haobiners should read.

ohooooo did i love this one. as the name suggests, very very very super ultra sweet. so fluffy and so warm. made the whole time travel thing seem believable (yes suspension of disbelief is always needed to make these types of fics truly enjoyable but here you care them so bad that you don’t even think about logistics). love love love, pyrvate never disappoints. definitely made me cry btw and i love that
