Damn Wyll. Damn his stupid, irresistible puppy eyes and his wife’s scary, intimidating texts. Astarion is glaring out the window of a wheezing small-town bus as he ponders pulling the ‘emergency stop’ line strung along the side of the interior. He could leave. Right now. Bail and get back in time to finish the project Cazador had assigned him right before he left. He has a sinking, creeping feeling that the magnitude of the thing might have something to do with the way he had asked for a few weeks off for the holidays.
The bus shudders and crawls onward. Astarion does not pull the line.
