Vanitas chooses this moment to bite into the eclair, cream oozing out of the other end, flakes of pastry drifting down and settling on the table. He finishes chewing, and a soft, pink tongue darts out from his lips to lick away at a smudge of chocolate on the corner of his mouth.
Noé’s eyes can’t help but follow the movement intently. He sits there, frozen, and something in his stomach twists hard.
Vanitas dabs at his mouth with a napkin, his gaze flickering up to meet Noe’s. A slow smirk spreads through his face at what he sees, and he leans back in his seat, flexing his pale neck.
“See something you like, my dear Noé?”
