She knew it would not. As the Maesters had all been grumbling to each other while tending to the King’s pains, it was bound to be severe.
That whitish light taking the sky, covering the city like mist thicker than mist, like the breath of a baby dragon, like Aegon’s spawn, once so small that if she wanted she could have cradled it in the palm of one hand.
Not that Alicent would have, and anyway her hands were ever too cold for the touch of such creatures.
