“I did wait.” Jinshi folded his arms and stuck out his lip. He realized he was pouting, very unbecoming of his royal station. He unfolded his arms and schooled his face. He reminded himself that he was in control, damnit. Of himself and this situation.
“Then wait some more,” Maomao deadpanned. “Go take a bath.”
“I did already.” His face warmed. “Inside and out.”
“Oh?” Maomao raised a single eyebrow. “Is that what you were looking for tonight?”
They hadn’t discussed their plans for the evening outside of the date, time, and location. Jinshi’s blush spread to his ears, before bleeding down his neck to his chest. His nipples hardened in shameful sympathy. “I… wanted to be prepared. For anything you had in mind.”
