Steve took the shot. His face twisted into a grimace. Between the alcohol and the blaring music, Tony had never seen him so out of place.
“Alright, Tinker Bell-”
“No nicknames tonight.”
“Oh come on-”
“I’m serious." His eyes turned serious and his voice took on a hint of vulnerability Tony had yet to see in him. “Just Steve. Just for tonight.”
Tony smirked. “Be careful. I’m starting to like you, Steve.”

For the last six years at Hogwarts, Steve and Tony had been at odds with one another – this much was expected from the captains of the Gryffindor and Slytherin teams. They both were quite comfortable with this dynamic until Headmaster Fury decided to meddle right before Christmas. Meanwhile, Tony had his father’s legacy and his Uncle’s cryptic messages increasing the weight on his shoulders. With all the pressure they were under to make their Houses proud, and with nowhere to hide during the holidays at Hogwarts, it was no wonder they would seek comfort with the only other person who would understand: each other.

“There still seems like there’s a lot that could go wrong,” Stiles said, still conflicted. “It just sounds like the premise of a bad rom com, but with a messier ending because in those movies the people always actually fall in love at the end.”
“It’ll only be for a week,” Lydia said. “And then we’ll be back in Boston, and everyone else will still be in California. We can pull this off for a week.” She paused, her grin infectious. “Just think, Stiles. Not a single question about if you’ve found anyone yet.”
Stiles thought back to previous holidays, conversations with his dad on the phone, and skype calls with his best friend, a baby nestled against his chest. That sympathetic, pitying look they all got in their eye when Stiles told them no, he wasn’t dating anyone. He looked back at Lydia, her green eyes shining with excitement over her plan.
“What do you say, Stiles?” Lydia asked, leaning forward. “Will you be my fake boyfriend?”
Stiles met her eyes again, shooting her a cheeky grin. She smiled back, body almost buzzing with excitement.
“Sure thing.”
