He speaks the name on his tongue “The Dark Urge”, his voice is rasped from a lack of talking, maybe even abuse with how it ached when he spoke. No matter how he might’ve liked to take the name he knew, it could rather easily rouse suspicion if he were asked for his name, it seemed recognizable– important. Xerxes, the urges had spoken before elaborating a little further; important, powerful name, deserving, gifted, accept. He decidedly nodded, uttering the name under his breath before a grin tugged at his lips.

TLDR; In which The Dark Urge, now named Xerxes, is much more trusting of the urges and just wants his memories back. The following chapters display such memories, snippets of who he once was, as well as interactions between him and his companions.

Summary
Karlach froze beside the Bhaalspawn, taking just a slightly closer look at the two's almost intimate glare into each other's eyes. "Hang on... what?! You know each other?!" Her head darted between the two chosen, the glare leveled at Gortash and the man's gaze set on Xerxes. "We have important matters to address. My reunion with Karlach can wait."
"Don't talk to me, talk to her." He only shook his head, unable to look away — he didn't even know why, the air of familiarity around the other, anger, resentment, something else...something more, mourning what once was. "No offense to my old friend, but it's you I have been dying to see." Gortash's words weren't even sugarcoated, still sweet like honey to his ears, genuine - when speaking about the Bhaalspawn, that is.
"To think you and Karlach travelled together all this time, and she hadn't the faintest you were my nearest and dearest." Karlach looked rather conflicted beside him, Shadowheart resting a reassuring hand on her shoulder.

TLDR: Old man yaoi (it counts istg) where Gortash longs for what once was and Karlach is (not romanced) protesting the alliance between the two.
