Summary
Cassandra was an orphan. Her mother had died long ago, and she had been brought to this strange summer camp in New York, being told that her father was alive and a god. As if making up for neglecting her all these years, he claimed her right there, and the camp learned to steer clear of the daughter of Thanatos, the god of death.
If there was one thing a camp full of demigods constantly on the verge of death knew, it was to not willingly invite death into their lives. Cassandra seemed fine with this. She kept to herself, and the rest of the camp kept away from her. At least she didn't have to fight for a bed to sleep in at the constantly crowded Hermes cabin.
She had resigned herself to a solitary life at Camp Half-Blood. Too powerful to go outside the protective border and too lonely to yearn for a life surrounded by friends. That was until Percy Jackson showed up. He broke down every social barrier that was placed in front of him, talking her ear off and asking her all manner of questions.
Cassandra got used to his constant companionship. After a while. This is the story leading up to when she realized the daughter of death couldn't bear to live without the son of the sea at her side.
