Here's the thing - Saiki hates his laugh.
Why? Because he knows for a fact that people find it annoying. It's not just some preconceived notion that he made up out of self-esteem issues. When he was young, he heard people thinking that his laugh was annoying.
Hear something enough times, you start believing it.
So, that's why he no longer laughs. Granted, he rarely laughed before, but now he really never laughed.
Not until...
Saiki's eye twitched. He stared down at his boyfriend, who was currently covered in Saiki's lunch. Toritsuka had been doing a kindness - or attempting to do one - and carrying Saiki's lunch for him. But one slip later, and, well...
"I-I'm sorry, Saiki! Let me go-"
"Pffft..."
Saiki covered his mouth, squeezing his eyes shut as he let out soft snickers - which slowly turned into a loud, happy laugh.
The sound was high-pitched and breathless. Something he was sure would get on everyone's nerves.
Holy shit, he's laughing. Hairo, who sat nearby. H-he's... Oh my god, he's so cute...
Cute?
Aside from him laughing at ME, his laugh is pretty adorable... Toritsuka realized a second too late that Saiki had heard his thought, and looked away with a blush.
"What the... Since when does my best boyfriend buddy have such a cute laugh?" Nendo asked, as if offended that such a fact had been kept from him. Kaido just stared with wide eyes, and Saiki could only hear static in his mind.
...Had he broken Kaido with his laugh?
Granted, a few other people mentally dubbed Saiki's laugh as 'stupid' or 'annoying' or 'what a cat in a blender sounds like' - but his boyfriends seemed to like it well enough.
That was enough for him.
