Felicity broke into a run towards the Bridgerton's house, if there was anyone in London who could help her it would be them. She knocked repeatedly on the door until the front door of the house opened.
- Mr. Collins, good afternoon
-Miss Featherington, good afternoon," said Mr. Collins, the Bridgertons' valet, cordially as he opened the door.
-There's Lady Bridgerton, I need to speak to her urgently," said Felicity in distress, "Please, it's an emergency!
- She is in the drawing room having tea with Miss Eloise, please continue," said Mr. Collins.
- Thank you," said Felicity walking hurriedly.
- My lady, Miss Featherington asks to speak to you, she says it's an emergency," said Collins to Violet, the Bridgerton matriarch.
-Please have her follow Collins," said Violet, a bit worried.
Meanwhile, Eloise sank deeper into her seat without taking her eyes off the book she was reading, thinking of Penelope still hurt her and seeing Felicity it was impossible not to think of the friend she loved so much.
-Good afternoon, Lady Bridgerton I am so sorry to have interrupted your tea time like this but I didn't know who else to turn to. Felicity said on the verge of tears
-Dear Felicity, of course! Please sit down and tell me what has happened to put you in this state," said Violet hugging Felicity as she sat beside her on the sofa.
- Lady Brigerton... Penelope... Penelope, she had been very strange for several weeks...after the ball at our house she cried and cried to such an extent that it seemed she was sinking into her own tears....
- I would say she was sinking in her own lies," said Eloise stammering.
- Eloise¡ shouted Violet to Eloise throwing her a reproachful look...please Felicity, continue....
-She and mom had a horrible fight, mom told her that she never wanted to see her again.... said Felicity stammering, trying to speak as clear as she could being in a state of anguish... after that fight, Penelope did not leave her room for a week, she barely drank tea and cookies... mom had decided to send her to Ireland before the end of the season but .... at that moment Felicity could not take it anymore and started crying disconsolately, Violet felt in her heart that something very serious had happened
- Felicity, what happened to Penelope?" said Violet in anguish.
- Penelope.... penelopee said Felicity trembling.
-Mom, don't worry..... I'm sure Felicity is exaggerating Penelope's condition, you know how the Featheringtons are, they're all liars," said Eloise stammering.
-Eloise, what's the matter with you!
-Penelope has disappeared! shouted Felicity with all the strength in her heart, getting up from the sofa.
- WHAT? shouted Eloise and Colin in unison.
