Work Text:
Kiriko sighed as she came in to the dorm.
“I’m back,” she called out, wondering if Rinko was there.
“Welcome home,” Rinko said back, sounding like she was talking through a mouthful of food. “I brought dinner.”
“Thank goodness,” Kiriko said, changing into the house slippers and coming over to the dining table. “Oh, pizza.”
“Yeah, there was a sale, hope you don’t mind. There’s leftovers in the fridge too, if you want me to heat those up, though.”
“No, pizza’s fine, I’m just tired.”
Rinko rolled her eyes. “The Chief again?”
“Worse. Nira.”
“Oh god. He’s going to be promoted up to First Division at some point, I bet. You know how it is.”
“I do.”
“Well, I can’t do too much, but do you want a massage? Or were you going to go down for a bath?”
Kiriko picked up a slice of pizza, noticing that it was her favorite toppings on one half and Rinko’s on the other half.
“I’ll take that massage,” Kiriko said after devouring her slice.
Rinko nodded and stood up, stretching before getting behind Kiriko.
“Let’s get your hair down, first,” Rinko murmured, gently taking the hair tie out of Kiriko’s hair.
“I wonder if I should cut it like yours,” Kiriko said thoughtfully. “Then I wouldn’t have to put it up as much.”
“I mean, up to you, but I thought you liked your long hair.”
Kiriko thought about it. “I do, especially with the hats.”
“See? Aren’t you glad I’m here?” Rinko teased, starting the massage.
“Very,” Kiriko said, tilting her head up so she could see Rinko. “I needed this.”
“We can go down to the baths after this,” Rinko suggested.
“Mmm…that sounds nice,” Kiriko agreed, reaching up a hand to brush Rinko’s hair off her face.
Rinko gave a little amused laugh and bent down to kiss her, a nice languid kiss that promised more if Kiriko so wished.
“You needed that, didn’t you?” Rinko asked after she stood back up, massaging Kiriko’s shoulders just in the way she liked.
“I did. Thankfully tomorrow Nira shouldn’t be near our section. How was your day off, by the way?”
“Didn’t do much, you know how I like to do nothing on my days off. Sorry I left you partnerless.”
“I do. And you’re fine, you’ll be partnerless in two days,” Kiriko said with a little laugh. “I’m ready for that bath, though.”
“Sure, let’s go.”
“What are you doing?”
Kiriko jumped, nearly drawing a line through her current drawing. “Keeping my notes organized so I can find them later.”
Rinko nodded knowingly. “Love the little pictures, very cute. We’ll catch all the bad guys with you around!”
Kiriko blushed, embarrassed she had been caught by Rinko. At least it wasn’t anyone else, although hopefully the explanation of “she’s my partner” would work on why, exactly, there were so many little doodles of Rinko in her notebook.
“It’s over, the day is over,” Rinko cheered as the two of them walked back to their dorm, nodding at the other people who were in the hallway.
“Thankfully,” Kiriko agreed. It had been a long day of paperwork, which was a different kind of exhaustion than doing patrols.
When they got into their dorm, Rinko pushed Kiriko against the wall, kissing her deeply. Kiriko sighed into the kiss, trying to unbutton Rinko’s jacket by touch alone. Rinko stepped back, getting her jacket and shirt off while Kiriko quickly did the same. Once the outer clothes were off, Rinko got back to kissing Kiriko, her hands around Kiriko’s waist as Kiriko’s hands wandered up Rinko’s back.
“God, I wanted to do this all day,” Rinko said in between kisses.
“Let’s get off the wall,” Kiriko said, making Rinko grin.
“I love it when you get bossy like that. Yes ma’am.”
It was always quiet when Rinko was off, Kiriko thought as she gathered the laundry. There was quite a bit of it, the two of them not having had much time between their hours.
The phone ringing caught her attention
“Hello?”
“Heyyyy Neechan!”
“Gou? What time is it there?”
“Aww, come on, don’t be like that, I’m taking a break from studying. How’s everything?”
“Busy. How about you?”
“Exams in English are harrrrrrrrd.”
“You’re the one who wanted to go to America, Gou.”
“Yeah, yeah, I know. But tell me about what’s happening in Japan.”
They had a good conversation, although Kiriko made sure it stayed fairly short, both so that Gou could get some sleep and so that it wasn’t too expensive. After that, she finished the laundry and figured she could get the dorm at least a little bit cleaned up.
She lost track of time as she tidied, startling when Rinko said that she was home.
“Hey, you made this look great, Kiriko!”
“Thanks, but there’s no dinner…”
“No problem, shall we order in then? I’ve been wanting Chinese, how about you?”
“Mmmm…rock paper scissors for Italian?”
“Oh, you’re on!”
“Rock, paper, scissors, shoot!”
