Light’s lips quirked into a contorted mix of a smirk and a frown. “You smell weird, is all. Not in a bad way, just… not like usual. It wouldn’t be a big deal if it weren’t so distracting,” he admitted, not sure why he was being so honest. It almost sounded vulgar. Light side-eyed L as he mentally prepared for his reproach, or at least some sort of reaction. However, all L did was spit out his toothpaste, washing the minty fluid down the sink.
L sighed. “It’s just… hormones, from being stressed and sleep deprived. It’s not like I’m in… heat, or something. I’m a beta. Light-kun knows this. He has no reason to worry about me."
... In which L spends the majority of his life hiding the fact that he's an omega, until the stress of the Kira case and close proximity to a certain alpha makes him slip up.
