It was a quiet evening in the southern base of the sword of logos. The most Zenkaigers coming to visit Magine and her family. Everyone had been gathered into the main hall, with both Ryouga and Rintaro joining them.
“Are you certain that this a good idea? It seems a little odd” Magine asked. “I read somewhere that children that were from two clans would often be put to this test to determine which clan traditions would be continued down the line. While we can’t exactly trust her judgement for her future seeing as how she is barely a year old. It’s still a fun harmless activity” Rintaro explained.
“While I agree that it is a bit odd. I don’t seem the harm in it either. It seems like a simple enough test” Reika agreed. There inside the child playpen, sat Shindai Juliana, oblivious to the conversation as she looked at all the items placed before her.
Such as Magine’s Sentai Gear, Reika’s Wonder Ride Book, a small wooden sword and a pad of construction paper with a box of crayons on it. “I understand the sword in case she wishes to be a swordsman and not wield wonder book, brother. But why the construction paper and crayons?” Reika asked Ryoga.
“Oh, I added those. I was curious to see if the child might have more of an interest in art or writing then combat” Rintaro replied. “Maybe we should add more in there. To limit the child wouldn’t be a good idea” Vroon suggested.
“Giving too many options may stress her out. Four options are more then enough. So put the stuffed animal back Gaon” Stacey replied, turning to the yellow coloured kikainoid who was about to place a stuffed animal in the line items. Gaon blew a raspberry at Stacey childishly, before pulling it away.
“Oi! She’s moving!” Zyuran pointed out as everyone turned to Juliana who was on her hands and knees crawling over towards the list of items. Everyone held their breath watching the infant move closer towards the Sentai Gear and Wonder Ride Book, before crawling past them, towards a familiar crystal ball that happened to be in the playpen.
“Eh? Magine isn’t that you’re crystal ball?” Kaito asked. “Ah! That’s where it went!” Magine realized. Both mothers’ eyes widened as Juliana tried to grab the ball only for it to roll away from her grasp.
The baby giggled chasing the crystal ball. While Ryouga appeared to be indifferent to his niece’s choice, internally he was devastated as he was hoping she’d at least choose the sword.
“Looks like she’s chosen” Rintaro commented. “She looks like a cat playing with a ball of yarn” Gaon squealed. “Maybe she wants to be a fortune teller like Magine?” Zyuran suggested. “Maybe she has the interest in the mystic arts” Vroon also chimed in.
“It could be one or the other. But I feel that it’s too soon to tell. She’s still a baby. I’m sure she’ll find something else to be interested in and even if she doesn’t, I’ll support her” Magine said as she picked up Juliana and her crystal ball, holding it for her daughter who smiled just looking at it.
“We will both support her” Reika added. Magine nodded and smiled. “It wouldn’t hurt to teach her a few basic sword techniques. For self defense of course” Ryoga coughed, clearly wanting to train his niece in the future and have an excuse to spend time with her, without making it seem obvious.
No one was fooled, as Reika just looked at her brother with slight disappointment. “Eh? Who’d have the guts to mess with her? They’d have to face all of us. Along with any other Riders or Sentai that happen to be around” Zyuran declared, pounding his chest in pride.
“Assuming that Reika or Magine don’t erase them from existence first” Kaito added. “Don’t be silly. Erasing them from existence would be too much of a mercy” Magine said darkly, causing a chill to run down everyone but Reika and Juliana’s spines. Juliana just continued to touch the crystal ball and laugh, oblivious to the whole situation.
Elsewhere a chill ran down the spines of Captain Marvelous and Kadoya Tsukasa as they finished sealing the deal to their bet about Julliana’s future as either a Rider or Sentai. Neither decided to back down and just ignore the feeling of fear that briefly washed over them.
