Chapter 1: 1
Chapter Text
Obi-Wan knew that as Qui-Gon’s firstborn one day he would have to be part of the Eternal Bonds. Growing up, he never worried about it because his father always spoke so well of his marriage, so it was not a subject to bring him concern. Obi-Wan never felt nervous about the ceremony in which he would be tied forever with a companion from the House of Lights or the House of Darkness.
Qui-Gon married Obi-Wan’s mother through the Eternal Bonds when he was 30 years old and Serena was 23, they were married for 90 years... until Obi-Wan’s mother died in his birth. She was a beautiful fairy with red hair, small and delicate face... Obi-Wan always admired her paintings hanging in his childhood home with a longing for a maternal figure that he never had. His father told wonderful stories about his mother, about how kind and empathetic she was. When they met, despite being such different species, a fairy and a werewolf, Serena Kenobi always treated Qui-Gon Jinn with respect and kindness. It wasn’t hard to fall in love, Obi-Wan’s father’s eyes shone with love, affection and respect when he talked about her. So, Obi-Wan has always had a wonderful example at home, of a genuine love between very different species. It was great, really. It helped to make him believe both in love and peace between the fantastic species. If a werewolf and a fairy could love each other that much, peace would always last.
The only problem was that Obi-Wan naively never really thought that his own marriage or any other could be very different from what his parents’ one day was. He was too young to see beyond his reality.
The Eternal Bonds was a ceremony in which members of all the fantastic creatures of both the House of Lights (composed of fairies, werewolves and angels) and the House of Darkness (composed of vampires, mermaids and demons) were united in marriage. It was a way to maintain peace after the Great War that devastated the world millennia ago, when all species fought each other, never understanding each other, fed by hatred and ignorance. It was an era of great darkness.
Then, the Eternal Bonds were created in search of the maintenance of peace. Every so many years, the High Council of Fantastic Creatures, which was composed of a representative of each species, met to discuss the union between the fantastic creatures. This only happened when the Council found it pertinent and when the firstborns of at least two species were old enough to marry, that is, after they had completed 21 years of life.
It was a coincidence of fate who would really marry whom. Qui-Gon, for example, waited years after reaching the standard age to finally meet Serena and the ceremony to be held. So, it was not certain that someone would get married right after they completed the standard 21 years. After all, the fantastic creatures lived for centuries and centuries, some even more than others. Obi-Wan knew that angels and demons could be millennia of years old... the aging of each species was different. A firstborn could be born and only centuries later marry another when he had completed the specified age or if it was necessary.
Obi-Wan knew a story of a representative of the angels who was 500 years old and had not yet married. The Council saw no need to make any union, so the angel waited. When there was a slight disagreement between two species and the tension increased in the fantastic world, the Council called the Eternal Bonds and reminded everyone of the vow of peace that each species made. The ceremony was held, peace was maintained and the angel married a fairy. They were very happy for centuries and centuries together. This fairy was Obi-Wan’s great-grandfather.
This story, however, raised a question for the Council. The 500-year-old angels still looked like a 30-year-old human, but what if a union was not needed for longer? So, they stipulated a limit between the ages because of course if there was no ceremony and the firstborn was much older than his future spouse, they would not get married. The maximum age was up to the appearance of 40 years in the human age. For an angel or demon this could take a long time... Obi-Wan believed that it was a sad life. Not being able to marry or have children until the ceremony took place, that’s IF it did. At least, after that period, they were free to marry whoever they wanted.
Obi-Wan only heard one case in which the ceremony did not take place... well, everyone knew the story of the cruel demon Sheev Palpatine. He was not chosen for the Eternal Bonds since the fantastic creatures were in great peace for all the centuries in which he was alive. Obi-Wan believed that it had been a great relief for everyone since Sheev was known for his impiety and cruelty. When Palpatine reached the already apparent age of 50 human years, he married one of his own species, Shmi Skywalker. The woman already had a son who was adopted by Palpatine, so at least everything was okay in the end. The demon married the one who chose him of her own free will and the descendants of the demons in the House of Darkness could continue without problems.
Palpatine died many years ago and his son entered his place as leader and representative of the demons since the boy’s mother had also died, even before his own father. Obi-Wan hadn’t even been born yet when that happened. There were many rumors that the adopted son who killed Palpatine, but no one knew for sure if this was true. They said that a boy who was raised with so much evil around him could only be the same or worse than his adoptive father...
Obi-Wan didn’t like to think about it.
In fact, he avoided thinking too much about the members of the House of Darkness and what they did. It wasn’t that he had any prejudice… but naturally they didn’t fit in. Obi-Wan was a creature of light, surrounded by life... the children of Darkness completely represented their opposite. So why would he waste his time thinking about death?
He had a werewolf friend, Quinlan Vos, who grew up with him in the pack, who was dating a mermaid named Asajj Ventress. Mermaids were magnificent creatures in fact, charming and... extremely deadly and fierce. Obi-Wan liked Asajj, they even got along well. Because of her, Obi-Wan had greater contact with the mermaids and even learned several things from the other species. Different from vampires and demons, for example. He almost never saw creatures of these species because as the son of a werewolf, the vampires were as distant as possible and the demons... well, no one was too close to them actually. Obi-Wan only interacted with the two species when they were at some high society events that he was obliged to attend with his father.
It was even at one of these events that he met Victori and Ester. When the call for the Eternal Bonds was made so many years ago, Qui-Gon and Serena were, respectively, the first son of the leader of the pack and the first daughter of the fairy queen. The two belonged to the House of Lights, so their union was easier, lighter, love was built easily. However, in this same ceremony a vampire and an angel, Victori and Esther, respectively, were also united. Both showed Obi-Wan that the Eternal Bonds could not be as easy as the history of his family made it seem.
Two members of different Houses almost never got along... a child from the House Of Darkness with one from the House Of Lights together was never easy. His father always told stories about his great love for Serena, even through an arranged marriage, that Obi-Wan never thought that the Eternal Bonds had a flaw in the search for love between different species. However, Victori and Ester showed little 18-year-old Kenobi that love was not that easy, that his parents, his great-grandparents were lucky. It was obvious that there was a mutual respect and affection between Victori and Ester, after all they had already been married for 108 years and had two children together, but there was clearly a lack of romantic love between the two of them. They didn’t look at each other as if one held the other’s world in their hand, as Qui-Gon said about Obi-Wan’s mother. It was not very common to union creatures from different Houses, but when necessary the Council did it.
Obi-Wan never thought it would be necessary when it was his time.
A tension had been created in the fantastic world, that’s true. No one knew exactly when, but they were already waiting for the Council to make a call to the Eternal Bonds. The last ceremony held was by Qui-Gon and Serena, Victori and Ester 111 years ago. So, with the growing tension, it was to expect the call to marry the firstborn who were at the right age. As the last ceremony involved a fairy, angel, werewolf and a vampire, a union was expected with species that had no contact for a long time. So, everyone was waiting for a marriage between the firstborn of the mermaids and the demons.
That’s what Obi-Wan was waiting for.
The problem was that the mermaids and demons were not exactly in disunity... The Council found it necessary to unite couples from different Houses this time, to show that even with the differences, the fantastic world should keep the peace. It seemed that they only waited for Obi-Wan to turn 21 to make the call of the Eternal Bonds.
It was the first time since his great-grandparents that a fairy would marry someone from the House of Darkness. Of course Obi-Wan was the lucky one...
When his father said that he was called to the Eternal Bonds, Obi-Wan tried to convince himself that it was not so bad. Victori and Ester had an angel daughter and a vampire son, but the boy was not yet old enough to marry. So, this left Obi-Wan as a representative of the fairies, Padmé as a representative of the angels, Sabé as a representative of the mermaids and... Anakin Skywalker as a representative of the demons.
As Obi-Wan was born a fairy as well as his mother, there was not yet a representative of the werewolves for the ceremony. Of course, Qui-Gon could still get married and have another werewolf son, he wasn’t even that old, but as his father seemed so devoted to his mother even after so many years of her death, it was likely that he would pass the leadership of the pack to his second in charge, Xanatos. Probably after some time, Xanatos’ daughter would marry the vampire son of Victori and Ester...
A werewolf and a vampire. Obi-Wan didn’t even want to think about how disastrous that could be.
As the Council had already warned the leaders of each species that their children would marry someone from different Houses, Obi-Wan prayed to all the gods that he could imagine that if it were for him to marry someone that they would choose Sabé for him. The mermaids were the species of the House of Darkness that he had the most affinity, after all. In addition, Asajj told him that Sabé was a good mermaid, fair and faithful to her people. Obi-Wan could develop a relationship perhaps not loving, but with great affection for the mermaid.
It hurt in Obi-Wan that he had to leave his house. Married to a mermaid, Obi-Wan and Sabé could not live exactly together, but a fairy was very adaptable in environments close to the water and the mermaids could come to land for a certain period of time. Obi-Wan then imagined for days that he would create a fairy community close to where Sabé lived. He and Sabé would live with as much harmony and respect as they could... the Council would be happy to see the union of different Houses and fantastic creatures.
Yes, he imagined and dreamed all this... only to be totally destroyed on the day of the ceremony when his father told him who he would really marry.
“The demonl?!” Obi-Wan almost screamed as he looked in disbelief at Qui-Gon. He could only have heard it wrong! It was not possible that his father was telling him that Obi-Wan would marry... a demon! For the love of gods... that was a nightmare, wasn’t it?
“Keep your voice down, Obi-Wan!” His father’s reprimand made the red boy’s lips pouted. “You knew very well that it was a possibility... either you would marry the demon or the mermaid.”
“I know, but...” Technically, Obi-Wan knew there was more than one option, but he never managed to get close to the possibility of marrying a demon in fact. Obi-Wan has never met many demons in his life... he saw them at some official events that his father participated in and he knew the macabre stories of the species. Demons were known as vile, cold, evil creatures. They were the incarnation of nightmares... they were the evil of the world. The demon that Obi-Wan would marry was known for his cruelty, he was the adoptive son of Palpatine, one of the cruelest demons in history.
Obi-Wan would marry Anakin Skywalker!
That thought almost made him puke right there. “Dad... I can’t!”
“Obi-Wan, you’re going to do that!” Qui-Gon spoke firmly and decisively. The fairy faltered with his father’s tone, which made the old werewolf’s face soften. “Son, I know this wasn’t what you expected... nor was it what I expected for you one day. You’re so... brilliantly good. So similar to your mother...” Qui-Gon caressed his cheek affectionately. Obi-Wan almost cried right there. He would miss his father... he would miss his life, flying among the wolves, the stories of the pack told late at night in a bonfire, the light always present in his life. To go out to visit the fairy kingdom, to have contact with living and colorful nature every day. “I wouldn’t like to see you marrying a creature from the House of Darkness and much less a demon. But, Obi-Wan... we have a responsibility to fulfill. It’s the price we have to pay for keep the peace.”
His father was right, Obi-Wan knew that. Despite the differences between the species, balance was necessary. They were part of a great ecosystem and the Eternal Bonds was a great responsibility that they all had to fulfill. Esther even though she was an angel had to marry a vampire... just like so many other couples from different Houses before. They all went through this because they were holding peace above all else. Even above their own happiness... they thought of the good of their peoples, of the good of all. And that’s what Obi-Wan also had to do.
That’s what he would do.
“I know” this time, he spoke less insecure, more obstinate. “I know, I’m sorry. I know my responsibilities, I know what I should do” Qui-Gon looked at him for a few seconds with affection and concern shining in his eyes until he pulled Obi-Wan for a tight hug.
“I love you, my son. Your mother loved you. Never forget that” the young redhead returned the hug of his father even tighter, looking for the comfort that only a father could give to his son. For these last moments before the ceremony, he allowed himself to feel again like a small child who ran to his parents when he cried. The last moments that Obi-Wan would have as just the little fairy son with bright eyes of Qui-Gon Jinn. Because in a few minutes he would no longer be that, but Obi-Wan Kenobi-Skywalker, the representative of the fairies and husband of the demon Anakin Skywalker. “The union is to be celebrated and seen with great respect. This is not a sentence, Obi-Wan...” he sighed into his father’s arms. Maybe... only maybe he could create a mutual respect as Victori and Ester did. “I’ll always be here for you, it doesn’t matter if you’re getting married, okay? You will always have a home with me, my puppy.”
Obi-Wan would not admit it, but some tears were shed before he finally moved away from Qui-Gon. With renewed energies and a new determination, Obi-Wan put on his ceremony clothes and followed his father to the Temple. As they walked inside the large building, Obi-Wan noticed the decoration of the place. He had never seen the Coruscant Temple so beautifully decorated... and not so full. They went through several creatures of different species before arriving at the main church where the ceremony would be held.
Obi-Wan could not deny that it was beautiful to see so many species of different Houses together without fighting and anxiously waiting for the union of their children. He was reminded once again that that’s why he was fighting... that’s why he would get married. For peace.
Obi-Wan said goodbye to his father to join the church area reserved for the fairies. He greeted some of his mother’s relatives and some other fairies he knew and had friends before settling in the seat and waiting.
Yoda, the oldest member of the Council, was the one who started the ceremony and made everyone who was in the church quiet. His speech reminded all the species of fantastic creatures present about the peace so hard won after the Great War, reminded everyone there present for what they were fighting for. For the well-being of their people. Then he called Padmé and Sabé, Obi-Wan and Anakin forward.
Obi-Wan didn’t want to look in the direction of the demons before. He didn’t want to see Anakin or think about his future husband. He pretended to himself that it was nothing important, but the truth was that Obi-Wan was afraid... afraid of what the future had in store for him next to the demon, afraid that the stories about how cruel Anakin was were true.
Now standing next to the demon, Obi-Wan didn’t know if he could look away.
Anakin was truly... handsome. Obi-Wan knew that the leader of the demons was much older than him, Skywalker should be about 300 years old actually. But he seemed to be 24 years old, his hair almost hit his shoulder, curly and almost brown because Obi-Wan could see how the strands shone golden when the sunlight hit them. Anakin was bigger than him both in height and width. He was thin, but still strong and full of muscles that stretched his black tunics, like all his clothes. Obi-Wan felt smaller than he was already standing next to him. The original size of the fairies was the size of the palm of hand, but they could change to the standard size of all other species. Still, Obi-Wan was neither too big nor too muscular. He always thought he was beautiful by the fairy standard, his wings had a heavenly golden glow, he was thin, his red hair was shiny and long, that is, it was a typical beauty of fairies and... so different from Anakin. Obi-Wan wondered if his future husband thought he was handsome or not, maybe he was too... fairy for the taste of the demon.
“Did you take a shine on me?” Anakin’s hoarse and low voice took Obi-Wan out of his thoughts. He didn’t even realize he was staring too much until he heard Anakin speak and looked away with his face flushed almost as red as his hair. He barely paid attention to what Yoda said at the top of the altar, not even in Padmé and Sabé next to the two of them. His attention was entirely on Anakin and Obi-Wan didn’t know how to escape from it.
Well, not even how to respond to the demon’s provocation.
“Don’t be shy so suddenly. Do you like what you see?” It was inevitable to look at Anakin again. What greeted him immediately were mesmerizing golden eyes. Obi-Wan had not noticed Anakin’s eyes until then since the demon was looking all this time at Yoda ahead. They were... beautiful, but scary, they seemed to exhale pain, suffering and darkness. Obi-Wan didn’t know if this was Anakin’s own or if all the demons had this kind of look. It made a shiver of terror pass through his spine.
“I hadn’t seen you before...” he managed to answer half choked. Anakin’s debauched and rogue smile shattered with what Obi-Wan said and an intense look gave way to his previously amused eyes. He seemed almost... desirous, which made no sense to Obi-Wan. He didn’t know what he liked less, ironic and provocative Anakin or this intense and hungry Anakin.
“I don’t think so... after all, why would you? Those boring events in which you went with your father are only for appearances in the end” Anakin looked again in the direction of Yoda and ignored Obi-Wan once more, who did the same even if confusedly. What did Anakin mean by that...? He mentioned the events that Obi-Wan accompanied his father... in which they would be the only occasion to meet a demon. But Obi-Wan has never seen Anakin because he has never talked to a demon before. ‘Only for appearances’ indeed... Even so, he knew that Obi-Wan was going to these events with Qui-Gon. Did that mean that Anakin has seen him there before? Anakin knew who Obi-Wan was or did he just assume that as the son of the leader of the pack, Obi-Wan would be at these events?
So lost in his thoughts, he almost missed when Yoda started the union of couples. Obi-Wan only came back to himself when Anakin extended the ceremonial knife towards him. The black liquid was already flowing from the cut in the demon’s hand in front of him and if Obi-Wan didn’t know how the ceremony was like he could have been scared. However, as his father had already informed him, Obi-Wan knew what to do even without having heard what Yoda said, so he took the knife and made a cut in his own hand, seeing when the red blood flowing through the cut. Yoda approached the two and tied a red rope in both hands while reciting the words of the old wedding ritual. Their hands and their blood intertwining made Obi-Wan feel a tingling where they were in contact. He didn’t know if he should really feel this way, but the magic seemed to drip from the knot to the cuts and burn next to the light that shone stronger and stronger on the red rope.
Obi-Wan was hypnotized by this. It seemed... extraordinary.
And then it was over. When Yoda walked away and declared them married companions, Obi-Wan felt nothing different. There wasn’t even a cut in his hand anymore. However, he knew somehow that he was intertwined forever with Anakin Skywalker.
The existences of both would no longer be possible without one and the other. The Eternal Bonds made Obi-Wan’s life be Anakin’s and vice versa. If Obi-Wan died, Anakin would follow not long later.
An eternal bond, for sure.
They could not separate until the next day, when the rope would fall apart, so Obi-Wan and Anakin, in addition to Padmé and Sabé, were together all the time during the celebration of the bonds after the ceremony. The party was huge... everyone seemed happy, all species in harmony while eating, drinking and dancing.
Padmé and Sabé left for a moment for the dance floor and waltzed together. Obi-Wan had not exchanged many words with Anakin until then, so he did not know if they should follow the example of the girls or not. Before he could open his mouth and ask, however, Obi-Wan realized that Anakin’s gaze did not leave the other newly married couple. More specifically, it didn’t leave Padmé Amidala.
“Did you know them before?” He asked about the two because he didn’t want to be rude.
“I’ve already met Sabé once in a while... and Padmé is not as young as she seems. She is already about 50 years old, so we see each other in those boring events” Anakin had not yet taken his eyes off the woman. “She definitely looks like an angel...”
“Well, I suppose so” Obi-Wan looked at Padmé then. She was really very beautiful... just as the angels were known to be. Maybe she would make a good couple with Anakin... even if Obi-Wan didn’t know how it would work. Angels and demons were the most different fantastic creatures from each other, even more than werewolves and vampires.
Well, maybe Anakin just thought she was more beautiful than Obi-Wan... if he had to marry someone from the House of Lights, it could very well be someone he was attracted to. Obi-Wan couldn’t judge him... not really. Even if inside himself something hurt acutely with this thought.
“Would you like it?” Anakin’s voice took Obi-Wan out of his self-depreciation.
“Sorry, would I like what?” He asked confused as he returned to face the demon next to him. Anakin seemed slightly fun with Obi-Wan’s confusion.
“Dancing” that fun and rogue smile returned to Anakin’s red lips. Obi-Wan found himself hypnotized by this. Was he attracted to Anakin?! Obi-Wan didn’t understand the reactions of his body near the other creature.
“Hm... yes, of course” he replied affirmatively, but still uncertain and insecure. But Anakin didn’t look like any of that when he got up and swept Obi-Wan to the dance floor. They had their hands tied all night, but they didn’t have been as close as they were now as they waltzed through the party hall.
Anakin’s hand burned on Obi-Wan’s waist and he tried to look everywhere but in the direction of his husband. Thus, he could feel the strong muscles of Anakin’s arms, feel when his chest went up and down with his breaths. This made a funny feeling in Obi-Wan’s stomach that he couldn’t explain even if his life depended on it.
Well, being close to Anakin wasn’t difficult. That’s it, his new husband didn’t talk much to Obi-Wan, but he was respectful even if he was still a little sarcastic and fun when he wanted it. They talked to more members of the House of Darkness that night than Obi-Wan did in his entire life. He met Anakin’s younger sister, whom Obi-Wan had no idea existed, Ahsoka Tano. They were clearly not related, but they treated each other just like any other pair of siblings. They made Obi-Wan remember the members of the pack. He also met Rex, a great friend of Anakin and Ahsoka, and a vampire. The two were pleasant with Obi-Wan even though they seemed a little intimidating and not impressed. They probably never imagined that Anakin would marry a fairy...
Well, Obi-Wan didn’t imagine that either. He couldn’t blame them for their lack of excitement about the wedding. His own people seemed unexcited, actually. If demons and vampires seemed indifferent, fun or with contempt, werewolves and fairies seemed cautious and protective.
“I know that in the first years couples are usually more reserved, but you can visit whenever you want, my son” Qui-Gon looked affectionate and a little sad at Obi-Wan. He was already missing his son who would soon go away. “You will always be welcome in the pack” Obi-Wan knew that his father was saying this to make it clear that he had a place to escape if he wished. The security and protection that Qui-Gon went through with these words caused a knot of conflicting feelings to come out of the fairy. His family would still be there for him. “You can also visit, Anakin. If you wish.”
It was only for be polite and the demon was fully aware of it. His smile already showed that. “Thank you, Qui-Gon Jinn.”
“You can also visit us whenever you want, Obi-Wan.” His aunt spoke on his side. The little red-haired fairy was the younger sister of Obi-Wan’s mother. On vacation, whenever he could he was with the fairy queen visiting his others relatives and playing with his cousins and fairies friends. “Flowers open for you always!”
“Yes, I will, aunt.” He smiled happily for the first time that night. Obi-Wan’s family was really the best, showing so much affection, love and protection with his situation. They knew that living in Anakin’s house, Obi-Wan would eventually need a place to escape, at least for a while, and replend his energies. His aunt Keelu Kenobi’s hug was tight and dripping love. Obi-Wan’s wings quickly hit with the emotion that overwhelmed him.
“Don’t be a stranger, Obi!” His friend’s energetic voice scared him and the hug that followed took Obi-Wan off the floor, pulling a laugh out of the redhead boy. “We still have to run/ fly around, puppy.” Quinlan smiled at him as soon as he put the fairy back on the floor. Asajj not far back smiled at Obi-Wan as well.
“I’ll visit you whenever I can,” he said as he touched Quinlan’s forehead with his own, as a common greeting among werewolves.
“I think it’s time for us to leave” Anakin’s hoarse and firm voice burst the bubble that Obi-Wan had been with his friends and family. The demon didn’t seem that serious all night, but now hearing him, Obi-Wan noticed an angry and stressed tone.
Anakin stared between Obi-Wan and Quinlan Vos in a sharp way. Ventress’s fun laugh was heard in the background.
“Of course...” the fairy wanted to postpone his departure as much as he could, but due to Anakin’s behavior, the demon would no longer be at the party for a second more. “We’ll talk later” he said back to the group around him. Everyone said the farewells to the couple and Qui-Gon left a kiss on Obi-Wan’s forehead before he walked away and promised that he would write to his father.
Anakin held his hand as they moved away to the exit of the Temple in silence. A black portal opened in front of them and Obi-Wan’s heart beat fast, out of step. His new life was on the other side. Married and living with Anakin Skywalker.
The demon wasted no time in pulling Obi-Wan in the direction of the portal.
•••
The place Anakin lived in was not exactly what Obi-Wan had imagined. It was common knowledge that the sede of the demons was located in Mustafar, a volcanic region. So, the fairy guessed that it was where Anakin lived, but the house where he appeared was not even close to it.
It was a Victorian mansion in a snowy region. Everything around him was white, the mountains, the trees, the fields, the roof of the mansion. It was quite a sight. The pack lived in a region of fields and forest and they had well-defined seasons, so the snow was not strange to the fairy. Although it was not natural to his species, Obi-Wan was used to it, but now it was the autumn where the pack lived and, no matter how much it snowed for a few days, it was not as much snow as where Anakin lived. So, Obi-Wan guessed that the demon lived somewhere in extreme north or extreme south, where the cold was present almost all year. It wouldn’t be so easy to adapt to that. That’s it, even though Obi-Wan was used to snow, he was a fairy. Where the fairies lived was always spring... they lived to give life to nature. And in the winter almost everything was dead.
It was still better than volcano and lava, honestly. Obi-Wan did not imagine himself living in Mustafar. He thanked his ancestors for Anakin not living in that place, it was enough for him to be so far from home and surrounded by children from the House of Darkness.
The mansion inside was nice, though. Neither so cold nor so hot, only at the ideal temperature. The furniture was mostly dark wood, just like the whole house. The decoration was simple, but beautiful. Everything was clean and well cared for.
It was... lonely, though.
Obi-Wan grew up among werewolves and fairies. Wherever he went, it was always full of people and excitement. Werewolves and fairies did not live alone, but in groups and family.
Demons, however, were lonely. Anakin was... lonely.
Suddenly, Obi-Wan realized how lucky he was all his life.
“I had them prepare a room for you” Anakin began to speak while walking with Obi-Wan down the corridors and stairs. “But we will have to sleep together in these first few months and today for obvious reasons. You know... they keep an eye on the newlyweds no matter how much it doesn’t seem.”
It was uncomfortable, but at least Obi-Wan had his own room for his privacy at other times of the day. This was considerate of Anakin... or well, maybe he just wanted to stay away from Obi-Wan at other times if he could, since he was already forced to sleep with the fairy every night.
When they finally arrived in Anakin’s room, reality hit Obi-Wan. It was his nuptial night. Obi-Wan cannot claim to be pure or innocent, but he was still a virgin... not out of any sense of innocence, but because listening to the stories of his father and mother, he always imagined marrying someone he would love unconditionally and eternally. So, Obi-Wan chose to wait... to make it a special moment.
He never imagined that he would marry a demon, much less Anakin Skywalker.
Suddenly, he was very nervous and the red rope that tied them seemed tighter than before.
“Would you like to take a shower?” Anakin’s question made the young fairy almost jump where he was standing in the middle of the demon’s room. “I mean, I can look the other way...”
“No!” His voice came out more desperate than Obi-Wan initially planned. “I mean... I think we can spend a night without taking a shower. I washed myself before the ceremony anyway.”
Anakin seemed fun again while staring at Obi-Wan. “Of course... but I still want to take off these ceremonial clothes. So” he pulled Obi-Wan by the hand to the closet on the right side of the large room.
Obi-Wan’s cheeks were probably extremely red and he felt his face warm up more and more as he saw Anakin pull his pajamas out of the drawer. “They should deliver your things here tomorrow, so if you want to change, I can give you one of my clothes...”
“Of course” Obi-Wan didn’t even know what he was saying since his head was sending warnings! and extreme shame! all time. He closed his eyes when he saw that Anakin was going to start taking off his clothes. It was better and easier to keep his eyes closed all the time.
Obi-Wan for a moment forgot that his hand was tied with Anakin’s. He didn’t know if it was his imagination or if Anakin was doing it on purpose, but he could feel every piece of tanned skin that Anakin touched. He felt the muscles of his belly and thighs when Anakin took off his clothes with his breath stuck in his throat, hoping that no shameful sound would come out of his mouth. Then he felt it when Anakin put on... his underwear?! Was Anakin changing his underwear in front of Obi-Wan?!
The fairy felt his wings beat anxiously behind him. For the Stars, that was so embarrassing. Finally, when the pants were up, Anakin spoke again. “You can open your eyes now, Obi-Wan. Thank you for keeping my purity” the debauched provocation flowed through the tone of the demon and when the fairy opened his eyes, Anakin stared at him with that rogue and fun smile.
Obi-Wan wanted to punch that beautiful face.
“Well, your turn” a black cotton pants was extended for him. Only then did Obi-Wan realize that Anakin hadn’t put on a shirt... because he couldn’t with their hands tied. They would have to sleep together without shirts... The werewolves were always naked in the pack, but Obi-Wan never was so embarrassed with the nudity of someone else’s body.
“I think—“
“Obi-Wan, I’m not going to sleep with you in dirty clothes on my bed” the fairy was almost offended for a moment. Obi-Wan wasn’t dirty, thank you very much! But he couldn’t deny that his clothes... well, he was hugged by a lot of people and spent hours at the party. “I’ll close my eyes if it bothers you so much, husband.”
The ‘husband’ was said so sarcastically that Obi-Wan quickly picked up his pants in anger. He didn’t need Anakin reminding him that he wasn’t the ideal husband. Following what he had said, the demon really closed his eyes while Obi-Wan took off his clothes. He took the utmost care so that Anakin’s hand did not touch his skin that much, even if at times it was inevitable. When the pants were finally in place, he spoke again. “Done.”
Anakin was not as discreet as Obi-Wan had been. He looked at the fairy’s body from top to bottom, but said nothing to Obi-Wan’s relief. The eyes of the demons seemed to shine with... something.
“Let’s go to bed then” Obi-Wan’s nervousness then doubled. Anakin’s bed was huge, it would probably fit about four people there, and soft to the touch with the black silk sheets. After Anakin turned off the lights, Obi-Wan lay down and waited.
And waited... and waited... and waited.
“Anakin?” He wanted to confirm if his husband was sleeping. Obi-Wan was so unattractive to him that on the nuptial night Anakin would sleep...?
Obi-Wan wanted Anakin to sleep? He wanted... Anakin to touch him? Well, that was what they expected of them, right...?
“Hm?” The demon’s grumbling was not very enthusiastic, but confirmed that he was as awake as Obi-Wan.
“Nothing...” the fairy was silent again. Obi-Wan didn’t know if it was worse to let it go and wait when Anakin touched him or remind his husband that he should be touching Obi-Wan and... be rejected. The image of Anakin staring at Padmé came to Obi-Wan’s mind and his stomach writhed unhappy.
“Obi-Wan, I can hear you thinking from here. Spill it, what is it?”
“You said they... keep an eye on the newlyweds” the fairy moved restlessly in bed, but didn’t go very far because of the tied hands. He sighed in frustration.
“Oh... well, my dear fairy” Anakin’s provocative voice was back, just to lift Obi-Wan’s nerves. “As much as your perverted little head is thinking about all the atrocities they can see in our bed, the old folks of the Council are not inside our rooms. They won’t see if we consummate the marriage or not. We can just sleep, Obi-Wan. Or at least, you can.”
“Why don’t you?” The fairy chose to ignore his husband’s initial speech for the sake of his sanity and marriage.
“You don’t know anything about demons, do you? We don’t sleep, love” the fact that Anakin would observe Obi-Wan in his most vulnerable state, during sleep, left the fairy completely anxious in bed.
“I see” Obi-Wan swallowed it dry and decided to close his eyes. He wouldn’t have his nuptial night, Anakin wouldn’t touch him. He should be happy, shouldn’t he? For all the bad things he heard about Skywalker, it was good that he had no interest in Obi-Wan. It was good that he didn’t force Obi-Wan to sleep with him, touch him and be touched back.
So why did Obi-Wan feel so unhappy about it?
The only conclusion he came to was that the fairy finally realized that he would never have what his parents once had. Anakin was never who Obi-Wan imagined himself sharing his centuries, his forever. How could he imagine living a love as pure and genuine as his family had lived? Not with a demon... this species didn’t love. Everyone knew that, everyone said that. Demons were not able to love.
Anakin was not able to love Obi-Wan and it hurt like hell.
Obi-Wan would not tell his children, that if they had children, the love story of their parents... because there would never be one.
If some tears fell on the pillow under Obi-Wan before the fairy could not stand the fatigue of the day and finally slept, the darkness of the room swallowed them so that the other occupant could not see.
•••
During the night, the fairy slept distressed on the other side of the bed and seeing the restless sleep, Anakin stretched out his hand and sang an old magical chant for sweet dreams. The demon then looked at his new husband sleeping relaxed next to him with a look full of tenderness, longing and hunger that could not be satiated.
When the red rope that tightened them together fell apart, Anakin still didn’t let Obi-Wan’s hand go all night.

Chapter Text
In the few days when Obi-Wan lived in Anakin’s home, he gathered some notes. First that Skywalker was always with smiles of mockery and provocation as if they were constantly in some comedy show. He made insinuations to Obi-Wan almost every day, but when night fell Anakin never approached the fairy in bed and touched him. This made the fairy more angry than anything, Obi-Wan always felt too naive to understand the joke that Anakin seemed to make all the time. Obi-Wan thought that the whole marriage was the great joke for the demon. Their union was a great pastime, after all it wasn’t necessarily to know much to see that demons liked to mock at the expense of others. The fairy’s heart only hurt seeing his dream of love more and more distant from him.
“You should call me husband from now on, Obi-Wan” Anakin said that almost every day. And the fairy only responded with an unimpressed look. He knew that the demon only said ‘husband’ to make fun of his face, because it was never said with a loving tone as his father talked about his mother.
Another thing was that Anakin was always dressed in black just like the other demons. They seemed to be in mourning all the time, which was so different from Obi-Wan’s reality that it almost made the fairy sad with so little color around him. Fairies were known for living in flowery fields... Obi-Wan loved the colors, but he could never see anything but snow white, black of Anakin’s clothes and the brown of the furniture.
A fact that was not much of a surprise to the fairy was that the demons who frequented Anakin’s mansion from time to time did not pay much attention to Obi-Wan. Well, apart from Ahsoka and Rex, who were the only ones who still recognized him and talked to him. The few employees who had in the mansion did not talk much to the fairy, but they were always respectful at least.
Everyone, without exception, seemed to fear Anakin in some way.
Even Rex and Ahsoka sometimes seemed cautious about the demon. Everyone called him Lord Vader, always with respect and fear. Obi-Wan was the only one allowed to call him by name in public.
One thing that happened that left the fairy more than disturbed was: the letters. Soon after his marriage, Obi-Wan received several letters congratulating him. Or well... they seemed more to terrorize and alarm him. Sabé and Padmé sent their congratulations, just as Anakin and Obi-Wan answered them with the same. However, the other fantastic creatures chose to use the letters to tell all the atrocities they heard about the demons and their leader, Anakin Skywalker. They told stories about the cruelties that Anakin committed in the past, about Anakin’s deceased adoptive father, about how the leader of the demons did not tolerate disobedience, he was relentless, how he was the evil incarnated in physical form. For the sake of his sanity, Obi-Wan stopped reading the letters. Otherwise he couldn’t lie next to his husband without fear aching his heart.
Despite all the stories, Anakin never cruelly touched him or forced him to do anything he wouldn’t want it.
“Tinker Bell, could you at least tell your fairy family not to send me pink or flower wedding gifts?”
“Don’t call me that.”
“Do you prefer fairy godmother?”
“Would you prefer me to call you Lucifer, Anakin?”
“I’ve already said that I don’t mind if you call me husband,” Anakin pinned, smiling amused at Obi-Wan. The fairy snorted and rolled his eyes as he lay on their bed. When did Obi-Wan start to see Anakin’s bed as theirs?
“You can throw it away if you want” Anakin grumbled at his answer and said nothing else. Obi-Wan wouldn’t want him to really do that. They were gifts from his people after all, the few flowers sent made the house a little more colorful than before... but he didn’t think Anakin would mind. With each passing day Obi-Wan was more frustrated with his situation. He knew he should accept his new life, he knew he couldn’t have the love he once dreamed of, but knowing that didn’t make everything suddenly easier. He covered himself with the sheets to sleep. “Good night, Anakin.”
“Well, good night, little fairy.”
So, the days went by without much change in Obi-Wan’s life. In the pack and in the kingdom of the fairies, the fairy was always responsible for something, whether it was some diplomatic matter of the wolves or simply about the new harvest of the fairies. Obi-Wan was great at negotiating solutions to problems, his family liked to let him know about everything. Now, living so far away, even if he still received news from the family, Obi-Wan was bored.
He was not allowed in the meetings of the demons or the House of Darkness, not that he really wanted to be there... it was an environment very full of darkness for the fairy. However, at the same time, he missed the diplomatic meetings he participated in among the creatures of the House of Lights. He particularly missed flying with the wolves in their races, spending nights with the family listening to the old stories of the werewolves, waking up with his father by his side and even missed Quinlan annoying him in the pack. He missed flying with the fairies through the green fields in search of pollen, fruits or simply to help some sick plant.
After some time, he received some visits from members of the pack as well as from the fairies, but none of them liked to spend much time there. It was understandable, but... In the end, Obi-Wan ended up very... lonely. Is that how Anakin felt?
Well, with the months going by Obi-Wan realized that Anakin’s constant presence in the mansion as it happened at the beginning of the marriage was something unusual. The demon actually traveled a lot. Obi-Wan knew that he was going a lot to Mustafar, which was not a surprise, but Anakin also went to other places to solve issues as the leader of the demons. Obi-Wan had lost the leadership with the marriage. Xanatos was the leader of the pack now and Aunt Keelu was still queen of the fairies. But Anakin, or Lord Vader, was still a leader and had responsibilities... even if Obi-Wan thought that maybe Anakin’s various trips were actually to avoid him.
In addition to making fun and always teasing Obi-Wan, Anakin didn’t seem to know much what to do with his new husband. Not that the fairy was much different.
So, to pass his time, Obi-Wan decided to leave the mansion even with the snow falling non-stop outside, otherwise he felt he would go crazy. His wings were powerful and although fragile, he could travel long hours without getting tired in his original form. Therefore, the fairy instead of being found wandering through the corridors of the mansion, he was almost always in the cold forest outside. He liked to use his magic for help any sick plant he found, he helped injured animals, gave strength for the winter flowers to sprout.
One day, Obi-Wan was returning home when he was surprised with Anakin coming out of the back door. It had been about 25 days since his husband was away, he had warned Obi-Wan that he would be absent for longer this time.
“Obi-Wan?! Fairy, where are you?” The demon looked at the snow-white forest with a frown. The fairy could almost swear to have seen concern in his eyes, but... it couldn’t be, could it?
Anakin had never seen him in his original form before and it wasn’t because Obi-Wan was ashamed or anything like that, but only... well, there was no need for Obi-Wan to be the size of a hand inside the house. So, he flew even tho a little insecure to where Anakin was.
“You came back” Obi-Wan’s voice was more acute and with natural noises of bells. Anakin looked surprised at the small shiny shape of the fairy in front of him.
“Well, if it’s not Tinker Bell indeed...” Obi-Wan grumbled angry, but the effect was not much what he wanted since only sounds of sweet bells were heard. Anakin smiled amused and... with something else shining in his eyes. “I had to come back since the employees were looking for me desperate because a certain husband was missing... I think they just couldn’t see you in your size so... tiny.”
Obi-Wan couldn’t help laughing. Noises of sharper, funning bells echoed. Anakin’s employees thought he had left or what? Anakin came back worried thinking his husband had abandoned him? Didn’t they see Obi-Wan small like that? Well...
The fairy turned into his human size again right in front of Lord Vader. The demon looked at him fascinated and for a few moments, he absorbed the appearance of Obi-Wan. In his original form, he did not wear his usual clothes, they were not the beige tunics he was used to wearing in the pack. As a fairy, Obi-Wan was much more colorful and graceful. His clothes were lighter, with a thin, fluid and almost transparent fabric that fit perfectly on the fairy’s body. It shone colorful and ethereal... Obi-Wan had never thought about how beautiful and sensual it could be. Not until Anakin’s gaze sweeps him with hunger and intensity.
He remembered the look that Anakin gave to Padmé and something ugly stood up inside Obi-Wan. It could be jealous if he was brave enough to admit it, but he wasn’t. He never wanted to see his husband look at someone else like that again. Anakin should feel attracted to him only...
Courage came easy then.
“Do you like what you see?” Obi-Wan found himself repeating the question Anakin asked on the day of their ceremony.
“Don’t provoke, Obi-Wan.”
“I’m just asking, Anakin...” the fairy didn’t know if the demon was really interested in him. On the one hand, Anakin looked at him with lust at times, like right know, but on the other hand he always kept his distance from Obi-Wan in bed.
“This makes it difficult to keep your purity intact, my little fairy” this brought a blush to Obi-Wan’s cheeks and a smile to Anakin’s face. “Aren’t you just adorable...” Obi-Wan’s wings flapped anxiously on his back.
At that moment, despite the embarrassment, Obi-Wan realized that he missed Anakin... In the first days of his marriage, they were always together, but now the demon almost didn’t stop at home. He was trying to find anything to do to not think about how much he missed his husband before. The fairy didn’t want the moment to end.
“Did you come to stay?”
“Do you want me to stay?” Anakin’s question was asked with genuine curiosity, Obi-Wan realized.
“Well... you’re gone for a long time this time...” was not an answer, but it also implied that he would like Anakin to stay. The demon seemed to know how to read what Obi-Wan meant anyway, because Anakin smiled and nodded.
“This time, I have a surprise for you. A gift. A late weeding gift, you can say.”
“Oh!” That surprised Obi-Wan. “Really? What is it?”
“Come with me” Anakin held Obi-Wan’s hand as he took him back into the mansion. They walked to their rooms (theirs and no longer just Anakin’s, because Obi-Wan almost never stayed in the room that was designated for him anyway) where Obi-Wan noticed a new mirror. He already knew that place very well to notice the new object so clearly. It was beautiful and big... at least big enough for him or Anakin to see their whole body reflected.
“A mirror? To admire my beauty?” That made Anakin laugh.
“Also, of course. What is beautiful needs to be admired...” the confirmation that Anakin thought Obi-Wan was beautiful should not have been as satisfactory as it was. Even in his human size, Obi-Wan could almost hear the bells ringing excitedly. “But not only that... it’s actually a portal. I know that you fairies can’t create portals like us demons, so I thought...” Anakin stopped talking for a moment and looked at Obi-Wan... affectionately? “Well, I think you’d better just see it” so he delivered a shiny stone in his hand. It wasn’t strange to Obi-Wan... he could feel the magic embedded there. “You just hold the stone, wish where you would like to go and then...” Anakin pointed in the direction of the mirror. “Whenever you want to come back, just hold the stone and ask. The portal will appear straight here again.”
The fairy didn’t know what to expect, if that was in fact true, but after months of living with Anakin, Obi-Wan knew that the demon would not do him any harm. Lord Vader could be relentless with his demonic business, but Obi-Wan had married Anakin Skywalker... and his husband, he had never shown any indication of cruelty to Obi-Wan. All those stories about demons that others told the fairy seemed more like horror tales told to scare children... even if other demons were evil, even if Vader was as bad as they said, Anakin was nothing like that.
“Just come back before dinner. I don’t want to eat alone...” the fairy smiled and nodded. He didn’t want to stay away for long anyway. Not after Anakin spent 25 days away from home. Then, Obi-Wan passed through the portal mirror after fervently wishing where he would like to go.
What he greeted were flowery fields and golden sun rays. It was... a place in the fairy kingdom! Obi-Wan recognized it as the field of his memories. Anakin... he...
Obi-Wan changed back to his original form with a cry of joy that sounded like cheerful bells. He flew for a long time, lay on many flowers, smelled their perfumes, flew with bees and small insects. He even found some other fairies to talk to and work together with.
When Obi-Wan finally returned home, he flew straight to Anakin’s chest. “Thank you!” His voice was happy, the bells ringing treble, his body pleasantly tired after doing so many things at once in the fields.
He heard Anakin laughing. “I’m glad you liked it, little fairy” Obi-Wan moved away from Anakin’s chest and tilted his small body up to look in the direction of his husband’s face. The golden eyes didn’t look as full of darkness as before. Anakin brought his finger close and stroked the fairy’s hair and face. Obi-Wan hugged his finger as he stared at his husband. He didn’t know what kind of look he was giving, but it seemed to make the Dark Lord, leader of the demons, the cruel Darth Vader... melt completely with the simple beating of the fairy’s eyelashes.
“Let’s have dinner, my little fairy?”
•••••••
“When are we leaving?” Obi-Wan’s voice came out grumbling and whispering. It wasn’t as if the fairy didn’t like theater, in fact, Obi-Wan loved watching the performances. However, he was tired and missing his husband.
Anakin had decreased the number of times he traveled, now the two of them spent more time together. Still, two weeks ago he had to travel again and had only come back yesterday at dawn. The fairy stayed awake waiting for his husband to arrive. So, yes, he was tired, sleepy and missing Anakin. Obi-Wan just wanted to go home, lie on their bed next to his husband and hear the demon tell stories as he now used to do now until Obi-Wan fell asleep.
Anakin’s gift, the magic mirror, seemed to finally break the ice between the two. Obi-Wan found himself more open to the demon... but also how could he not be? Anakin gave him the most special gift he could have asked for. He gave Obi-Wan’s life back. His contact with his people, his goal in life... and Anakin still remained by his side, the fairy still had a house to return to, he still had someone to return to at the end of the day. It was the first time Obi-Wan thought that he and Anakin, despite the glaring differences, could create a relationship with affection and mutual respect.
Anakin’s jokes instead of annoying Obi-Wan started to make him amused as well. He learned that the demon did not make fun of Obi-Wan, but he made jokes and provoked all the people important to him. Obi-Wan realized later, perhaps only after leaving his prejudice aside, that Anakin was always very serious with the other demons, but fun with him, Ahsoka and Rex. Anakin only smiled and made jokes around who he felt comfortable with. After that, the fairy started exchanging jokes with his husband as well.
Every time Obi-Wan countered some provocation from Anakin, the look of the Dark Lord shone with amused and affection so unusual for his species.
“I’m sleepy” Obi-Wan grumbled again unhappy in Anakin’s ear, who stroked the fairy’s hand. To Obi-Wan’s happiness, Anakin had not stopped stroking him since they sat down. Obi-Wan liked Anakin’s caress. He liked even more that Anakin did not hide the public demonstrations of affection. They arrived hand in hand, Anakin had put his hand on his waist. All this in front of a certain angel. And well... of all the others, but a certain angel watching this left Obi-Wan more than satisfied. He knew he was a little grumpy not only because of his sleep, but also because of the interaction that Anakin had with Padmé earlier. Shouldn’t angels and demons hate each other? Why did Anakin insist on greeting the couple Padmé and Sabé every time they went to these events? He threw several glances in the direction of the demon, but his husband seemed completely oblivious or pretending not to notice.
“You can lie on my shoulder and nap. I’ll wake you up when the presentation is over.”
Obi-Wan wanted to leave and not sleep there. He stared at the demon with a pouty lips and sighed dramatically before laying his head on Anakin’s shoulder. He arranged his face until he was well glued to Anakin’s tanned skin. The others said that the demons smelled of putrid, of sulfur, of death. For Obi-Wan, Anakin always smelled very pleasant... it was a mixture of leather of his black clothes, a slight smell of grease from the mechanical work that Anakin did in his free time and a woody smell, almost like pine trees, which seemed to be something unique to the demon.
It was good and addictive. Obi-Wan smelled and enjoyed the most he could by being so close to Anakin.
He was still so agitated because of jealousy and his restlessness to leave right away that he couldn’t take a nap immediately. At least not until Anakin started stroking his wings. It was like a spell, Obi-Wan relaxed until he was snoring softly next to the demon. His husband discovered his soft spot during a night when the fairy woke up after a nightmare. He cried on Anakin’s shoulder, who not knowing how to console Obi-Wan, asked desperately how he could help. The fairy told him that he always liked caresses on his wings.
The wings of a fairy were sacred. The most vulnerable part of their body, in which only someone very close was allowed to touch. Obi-Wan loved to receive caresses on his wings, his body relaxed and melted when his hands caressed them lightly.
Anakin started doing this almost every night.
Obi-Wan didn’t know how long he naped. He could swear that he felt a light kiss on his forehead and his father’s voice, but he still didn’t open his eyes. “What a sleepy fairy” Anakin’s amused voice reached his ears and only then Obi-Wan realized the silence in the theater. When he finally opened his eyes, he saw that the place was almost empty.
“Can we leave now? Or do you still want to talk to others?” Obi-Wan didn’t know and also didn’t care whether or not he hid the jealousy and sarcasm that flowed from his voice. Anakin looked at him with a confused and curious smile.
“I think I should already put my grumpy little fairy on the bed, huh?” His husband spoke while helping Obi-Wan to get up, finally satisfied that the two of them was going home.
No more Padmé for today! Only cuddles and caresses to sleep!
The portal left them directly in their rooms. Obi-Wan then wasted no time in taking off his clothes to take his much desired bath and then go to bed. “I couldn’t wait to get back” he grumbled as he kicked his boots away.
“What happened to you today, my little fairy? Did the magic powder fall in the wrong place?” Obi-Wan looked angry at Anakin.
“You arrived at dawn yesterday and we had almost no time to talk. In the earlier event, you soon went to talk to others... angelic creatures” the fairy tore off his tunics and threw them on the floor. It was so atypically Obi-Wan that it made the demon frown completely confused. Obi-Wan has always been very organized... complaining when Anakin dropped his towel or clothes in anywhere but the bathroom.
“Are you angry because I didn’t give you enough attention, my little flower?” Obi-Wan snorted for the question.
“Yeah, but others receive too much attention” he grumbled low at the same time as he took off his shirt and walked towards the bathroom, not intending Anakin to listen.
“What is it?”
“Nothing.”
“No, Obi-Wan. Wait a second” Anakin’s hand held his and he made the fairy turn towards him. “If you don’t tell me what I did wrong, I can’t fix it, my little fairy” Obi-Wan pouted. He didn’t want to speak out loud about his insecurity, he didn’t even want to quote the angel and make Anakin remember her.
Obi-Wan didn’t want Anakin to think of Padmé at all!
“Come on, my little flower. What is it?” The demon held his husband’s face between his hands and looked at him worried. “Tell me, my love” he asked worried as if he couldn’t stand to see Obi-Wan unhappy. When Anakin laid his forehead on Obi-Wan’s, the fairy closed his eyes and finally spoke.
“Why do you always go after Padmé?” Anakin certainly didn’t expect that. He moved away enough so that he could look into the blue eyes.
“What? I... I don’t” his husband started talking, but suddenly stopped as if a realization hit him. His eyes opened in surprise. “Oh...” Anakin then relaxed and smiled in the direction of Obi-Wan. “Aren’t you the most adorable jealous thing in the world...”
“Anakin!”
“My little fairy... how can you be so blind?” The golden eyes stared intensely at the blue ones in front of him. “Don’t you see how crazy I am for you? From the first day I saw you, Obi-Wan, what I want the most... it’s just you.”
“But... on our wedding day you looked at Padmé and it looked like... and then whenever we get together you will talk to her!” Anakin stroked the fairy’s cheeks with affection.
“Okay, first of all I talk with Padmé and Sabé. It’s never only with her. And I admit that I think Padmé is beautiful” Obi-Wan then wanted to take a step back and get rid of Anakin’s hands, but his husband held him firmer. “Wait for me to finish talking, Obi-Wan” the fairy stopped trying to move away, but he pouted again. Anakin smiled affectionately. “I think she’s beautiful, I know you think and so many others too. It’s nothing special... she’s not you,” the demon said the last part so firmly that Obi-Wan’s knees felt weak. “I’ve known Padmé for a long time... more than her brother, more than Sabé. She was the only firstborn I had the most contact with, you know? But well... she’s an angel and I don’t say that as a compliment. It’s not like we were close or anything” little by little Obi-Wan was relaxing, he even let himself rest his hands on Anakin’s shoulders. “So I always talk to her because of this and also because... she’s from your House. I don’t want our Houses to have a bad relationship. I can’t see any disagreement between the Houses of Darkness and of Lights. Not now that I married you. They can’t and won’t take you away from me. You are mine now, fairy” the possessive tone would scare anyone, but a look at his feelings and Obi-Wan knew it was not a lie.
Obi-Wan was Anakin’s. Anakin was Obi-Wan’s. Their souls were intertwined. No one could change that.
“So... you don’t want her” Anakin grinned, but it wasn’t the usual amusement. It was surrounded by a hunger so great that he threatened to swallow the fairy.
“You are so oblivious, my little flower...” the demon got so close that the fairy could feel the warm breath hitting his flushed face. “Since I saw you next to your father in your presentation to the High Society at the age of 18… so beautiful... so ethereal... I knew you would be mine one day, Obi-Wan” the fairy’s breath got stuck in his throat. Anakin saw him before! Anakin already... that’s what he meant so many months ago, on the day of the ceremony. He knew Obi-Wan years before their marriage. “You were the only being in this world that I have wanted since then. No one else” a shiver passed through the fairy’s body with the intensity in his husband’s voice and gaze. “I would do it all over again to have you by my side. I would threaten to destroy the entire Council, I would kill all those old fools if they didn’t accept our union. I would burn this world at war” the threatening glow and darkness grew in the golden eyes. Anakin had threatened the Council to marry him to Obi-Wan?! “I still had to wait until you turned 21, but what was just a few more years for me that was already waiting for you for 300 years?”
The fairy only stared at his husband for several minutes, not knowing what to say. Obi-Wan never imagined... he never knew how far Anakin’s feelings went for him. The thought of his jealousy for Padmé seemed comical now. How could he feel jealous of that angel when Anakin was there in front of him declaring such things? For the Stars, Lord Vader threatened the Council, threatened to create a war again if they did not allow Obi-Wan to marry him.
He looked at Obi-Wan as if the fairy held Anakin’s world in his hands...
“Why then have you never... never touched me? On our nuptial night, you told me to just go to sleep...” this was always an insecurity for Obi-Wan because despite Anakin looking at him with lust during various moments of the day, he never tried any advance. If he was as crazy about Obi-Wan as he claimed, why had nothing happened between them?
“My little flower... I’ll only touch you when you ask me to” Anakin’s fingers slid through Obi-Wan’s red lips. “You have no idea how hard it was to keep you away... with you being so soft lying on my bed, with my clothes...” his husband lowered his face until their cheeks touched. The fairy heard and felt when the demon took a deep breath like he was scenting Obi-Wan. “You are so sweet that sometimes I feel like I could eat you up, Obi-Wan” a trembling sigh left his lips and Obi-Wan almost didn’t stop a moan from coming out of his mouth. “All those trips just to try to keep me away from you... keep my hands away from you” Anakin walked away to face the pleading eyes of the fairy. He no longer felt that he had control of his own body, all the fairy wanted was to give himself at once to the demon. “Does my little fairy feel neglected? Should I have just bended you in our bed and fucked you until you got no voice from shouting my name so much?”
“Anakin...” the name came out moaning, needy. Obi-Wan could feel the despair and lust emanating from his body, his wings flapping non-stop in anxiety. He barely finished telling his husband to touch him and Anakin was already swallowing his mouth in a hungry and voracious kiss. Obi-Wan had never been kissed with so much hunger and intensity before, his head floated and he felt dizzy even. Anakin claimed and claimed Obi-Wan’s mouth until he moaned again and got interrupted by the demon’s hot tongue sliding in. Anakin’s hands went down his body until he squeezed his waist and went down even further to his ass and did the same.
The moan that came out of Obi-Wan brought a growl out of the demon. Their mouths separated swollen and red, a thread of saliva connecting them. “How about we take a shower so I can fuck you properly in our bed?”
“Please...” the fairy’s needy whisper made the demon pull him to his lap, with Obi-Wan’s legs intertwined at Anakin’s waist, to the bathroom. The demon only put him on the floor to take off the rest of his husband’s clothes and admire his naked body with hungry eyes while taking off his own clothes.
Anakin’s cock was already hard and red. Obi-Wan moaned looking at it, but Anakin did nothing but kiss him while the bathtub filled. The moment they finally got into the hot water, they both moaned in unison. Obi-Wan was malleable and soft in his husband’s arms while Anakin rubbed the soap through his body. Kisses were stolen here and there throughout the bath. Kisses on the shoulders, on the neck, on the face, on the mouth.
The fairy could almost sleep if it wasn’t for the latent desire.
He allowed Anakin to wipe him with the soft black towel and take him back to bed. Despite the demon’s greed and voracity, he touched Obi-Wan with patience and caring. When the fairy lay down on the bed and opened his inviting legs, Anakin growled. A shiver went up all over Obi-Wan’s body and he arched his back impatiently. The fairy wanted the devil to do what he said before.
Just eat him up.
“You don’t know how much I dreamed of it, my little fairy” Anakin’s hands stroked up and down all over Obi-Wan’s body. He touched everywhere with reverence, adoration. When the demon lowered between the fairy’s legs and kissed him again, Obi-Wan moaned in response. He felt as needy as he never did before.
The kiss was dirty, it was wonderful. Anakin brought together his own hips with Obi-Wan’s and while devouring his mouth, he also created a friction between the hardened cocks just below. There were so many sensations, the mouth, the hands, Anakin’s cock, that Obi-Wan felt overwhelmed in the best possible way. He had never felt so much desire as now.
The fairy found out that his neck was another weak point when Anakin bent down to fill him with kisses and hickeys. Obi-Wan grabbed his husband’s back with his little hands and threw his head back to the bed below, moaning. The demon grunted satisfied as he filled his delicate and white neck with red and purple marks. Obi-Wan would hold a necklace the next day.
“I’m going to make you walk around with my marks. Everyone will see who you belong to, Obi-Wan” Anakin’s voice was deeper, more animalistic than before. A dark timbre that would scare any other being, but Obi-Wan moaned slyly about it.
He almost screamed when suddenly Anakin’s mouth sucked his nipple. No one had ever touched him there before, he didn’t know how sensitive he could be even or that this would go straight to his cock, which leaked abundantly into his stomach. “Anakin... Anakin...” the fairy’s legs closed around the demon’s waist. Obi-Wan had no experience, he didn’t really know what to do, but his body said what wanted and the fairy only obeyed. Anakin did not seem dissatisfied with this since he moaned next to Obi-Wan, squeezed his thighs hard enough to mark them purple with his fingers prints.
“Have you ever been told that you taste so sweet, my little fairy? Just like a flower...” Anakin’s breath hit Obi-Wan’s swollen and sensitive nipples, making his whole body shiver with the sensation.
“No... no one.... There was no one” he managed to respond needy, out of breath. Anakin then returned close to his face and stared at Obi-Wan in amaze, his eyes darker than before.
“You are perfect, my little fairy... Totally perfect” he gave another thirsty, devouring kiss. “Only mine, hm? You’re only mine...”
“Yes...” to emphasize, Obi-Wan brought their hips together. The demon smiled provocatively, possessively. He never looked as much like a demon in front of Obi-Wan.
That didn’t scare him anymore. The fairy’s cock leaked more precum.
His husband then wasted no time in going down until he was sucking the fairy’s soft thighs, making Obi-Wan squirm in bed. When the fairy realized that his moans were loud and sly, that everyone in the mansion could hear, he didn’t give a damn anymore. Not when Anakin’s mouth devoured his cock and his fingers came out wet in a maddening pace from inside his hole.
“Anakin, please! Please!” The fairy tried to move away, but the demon held his waist firmly in place until Obi-Wan came inside Anakin’s mouth with a scream stuck in his throat. He had never come so intensely before, not when it was his own fingers inside him.
“Perfect...” Obi-Wan heard Anakin speak, but his head swam in the post-orgastic hormones that the fairy didn’t even pay attention to what his husband was doing. He only went back to reality when the tip of Anakin’s cock touched his hole. “Can I, Obi? Are you going to let me to get inside you, my little fairy?” The demon’s voice was strangled, demanding.
“Yes... please” he barely finished speaking before Anakin stuck the whole tip inside the fairy. Obi-Wan’s mouth opened in a low moan, writhing in desire. His husband wouldn’t stop looking at his face as he pushed himself all the way inside Obi-Wan’s needy hole. A dark, hungry, crazy, satisfied look was in Anakin’s face when he saw the pleasure twist Obi-Wan’s delicate face.
“So tight, flower mine… You’re taking my cock so well” Obi-Wan shook his hands on the demon’s back tightly, knowing that his nails left red marks. When Anakin gave one last push and put himself all inside Obi-Wan, the fairy opened his mouth in pure ecstasy. Right away he felt his husband’s hot and demanding tongue claim his own at the same time as Anakin’s hips began to move, in and out of Obi-Wan with a slow pace.
He then lost track of everything else. All that mattered was Anakin. Anakin kissing him, Anakin touching him, Anakin going in and out of his tight, aching hole. It was the best feeling of Obi-Wan’s entire life.
Obi-Wan didn’t know for how long they fucked. It seemed hours before he realized how the room was full of sounds of moans, gasps and the skin-to-skin slap. It was obscene, dirty... it was fucking perfect. He didn’t even have strength to say anything anymore, Obi-Wan moaned over and over again Anakin’s name as a prayer. He whined and asked for more, harder, faster and his husband did everything and more.
When Obi-Wan came, stars exploded behind his vision. It was so strong, so intense that the fairy went out for a few seconds, but returned to his senses when he heard Anakin moan loudly and the hot and viscous liquid fill Obi-Wan from the inside.
It was so perfect.
When his husband came out of himself and he felt the liquid drain from his hole, Obi-Wan whimpered unsatisfied. “Shh, my love. I’m going to put it back” he then opened his eyes to see Anakin clean them quickly with the sheet, before pulling the fairy into his arms and fitting his cock back into Obi-Wan. The fairy sighed satisfied, happy, something he never thought he would feel for the simple fact of feeling his husband cock inside him. He felt a tender kiss on his forehead before he sank his face into Anakin’s neck.
Sleep came easy that night.
Notes:
In another point of view…
Anakin: How can I show that I love my husband without showing that I love my husband?
Ahsoka: … why don’t you just openly show him your love?
Anakin: *without listening* YES, Snips! Great ideia! I’ll crack all the jokes I know.
Ahsoka: That’s not what I said…
Anakin: Obi-Wan looks so beautiful when he smiles anyway. And when he is angry? The most adorable creature in the entire world and—
Ahsoka: Okay, I don’t need to listen to that every day *leaves and Anakin keeps talking to himself how beautiful Obi-Wan is*
•
Rex: Just go back home!
Anakin: I can’t… I don’t know how to make him love me!
Rex: Have you ever tried… I don’t know, be by his side and not running away?!
Anakin: REX! You’re a genius! I’ll buy him a special gift!
Rex: Well… it’s a start at least.
*Ahsoka facepalm when Anakin start to whine again about what kind of gift he should buy*

Chapter Text
Marriages are not easy. After a year married, Obi-Wan already knew that. He remembered all the beautiful stories his father told, but he had never realized that the old werewolf only showed the easy and beautiful side of marriages to his son.
People used to say that in the first year of marriage, couples went through their honeymoon phase. It was a lot of love, a lot of passion, they can’t live apart. Well, with Obi-Wan it was exactly the opposite. The beginning of their marriage was difficult, as expected from a relationship between a fairy and a demon who had never met before. Living together, sharing life with someone was not easy. However, after a year, Obi-Wan’s wedding finally entered the honeymoon phase.
Maybe they had too much passion...
The fairy never cared to his sex life, in fact. He didn’t think sex was that important. At least not until he married Anakin Skywalker. It was shameful the number of times they fuck per day after that their first time. It was three times on average. It could be less, but it could be more too. Anakin nor Obi-Wan seemed to put up with spending a lot of time with their hands away from each other. The fairy never imagined that something could be as good as being fucked by his husband.
Anakin seemed to want to have Obi-Wan in every corner of the mansion. The poor employees were already used to the constant moans, to find the couple having sex in the library, in the corridors, on the stairs, in the various rooms of the house, in the kitchen, in the office, in the dining room, in the living room. Obi-Wan never seemed to be empty these days, he was always leaking Anakin’s cum through his ass, his legs, his mouth.
The demon was insatiable... and the fairy wasn’t very far from it either, actually.
Anakin traveled a few times nowadays, they were more trips to Mustafar itself than any other. Ahsoka was assigned to the longest trips while Anakin took care of everyday affairs only so that he could return home soon, to his beautiful husband who was waiting for him loose and soft. Even after months at this rate, neither of them seemed to be getting tired of it.
In addition to the incredible intimacy, the whole relationship began to develop more deeply. They talked more, between the rounds of sex, at lunches and dinners, on lazy afternoons and mornings, at long dawns.
Anakin loved to know everything about the fairy and was not ashamed to ask. As Obi-Wan liked to tell about his childhood, his life in the pack and in the fairy kingdom, the love stories between his father and his deceased mother, he saw no problem in the various questions his lover demon asked. He truly showed himself to his husband, let him know his beautiful parts, but also the ugly ones.
And it wasn’t just that. Obi-Wan met a new side of Anakin as well.
He learned about his husband’s hard childhood, how he and Shmi Skywalker lived in a desert and very poor region. It was even for this reason that Anakin chose to move to a region as cold as where they currently lived. The demon didn’t like Mustafar’s strong heat.
Anakin’s difficult childhood hardened him for life, which Palpatine wanted to take advantage of.
Obi-Wan finally discovered that Sheev Palpatine found Shmi and Anakin in Tatooine and married his mother so that he could adopt Anakin and make the boy his apprentice. Shmi accepted the marriage because she believed that Palpatine would save them from misery and in a way he did, but the demon was cruel and unreliable. Obi-Wan cried when Anakin told how ruthless his adoptive father was in his training. He wanted to make Anakin the strongest demon ever and... put him on a leash. Palpatine had plans to bring back the Era of the Darkness of the Great War.
Anakin who stopped him.
When the old demon killed Shmi Skywalker when Anakin tried to rebel, his husband killed Palpatine in revenge. In the end, the rumors were true. Anakin had actually killed his adoptive father, but what the others didn’t know was the reason behind all that. It was not a search for power, nor the rank of leader of the demons.
Anakin just wanted to get rid of the monster that killed his mother.
Taking all the information from Anakin was not easy. His husband, despite their intimacy growing more and more every day, was still very reserved. It was during long nights that the demon sometimes said some new information, some memory he had. Obi-Wan’s kisses also helped Anakin relax so much that he let the stories of his life flow out of his mouth. So, little by little, Obi-Wan really met him. He then understood the look in Anakin’s eyes, why his golden eyes were full of darkness, pain and suffering.
But now Obi-Wan could also see the tenderness.
Living with the demon made the fairy discover that the rumors about Anakin could be true, but his husband was much more than them. Lord Vader was ruthless, rude, more evil than any other demon and could be extremely cruel when he wanted to. Anakin Skywalker was full of smiles, laughter, jokes, he liked to spoil his friends and his husband, he kissed Obi-Wan with love and affection
When the fairy realized it was for a demon and only for him that his heart beat out of step. Each beat echoing the word ‘love’ even if his mouth has never said that.
Gradually the mansion was filled with color both figuratively and literally. With the help of Anakin, Obi-Wan built a greenhouse at the back of the mansion to maintain a personal diverse garden. So, the mansion always had some flower scattered around, the sweet smell hovered through the air. The walls and furniture began to fill with magical photos* of both the couple and their families. After all, Obi-Wan liked to be around people he loved, if he couldn’t do it always in person, he did through the memories that the magical photos brought.
If one of the visiting demons opened his mouth to talk anything about the new changes in the life of the Dark Lord, Lord Vader would send them such a threatening look that it immediately silenced them. No one dared to say anything to Anakin’s fairy husband, not when he interrupted the meetings or when he demanded something. Ahsoka and Rex had more freedom, but they still knew their limits very well.
The Skywalker-Kenobi mansion has also become more frequented by other creatures. More specifically by wolves and fairies. After the couple started to be more close, the heavy environment of the house rose and Obi-Wan’s friends and family felt more comfortable in the place. Even though Anakin was a little stressed about their presence, he never complained.
Despite all this, the visits were not so frequent. That’s because neither the fairy nor the demon could stand it long without touching each other and Obi-Wan didn’t like to be rude to the visitors and leave them alone to fuck with his husband in some empty room. Anakin didn’t care about that, but he respected his husband’s decision. Well, at least most of the time. On some occasions, when he could no longer hear the conversation of some demon, fairy or werewolf visitor, Anakin pulled Obi-Wan discreetly into a corner and fucked him meaningless until his little fairy was soft and satisfied in his arms
Another thing that changed for the happiness of the little fairy was that Anakin began to be interested, albeit a little, in his tastes. He went a few times with Obi-Wan to the fairy kingdom through the portal of his magic mirror and also went out to the icy forest. They took long walks while the fairy took care of the nature around him or Anakin simply walked alongside Obi-Wan as he flew in his original size. His fairy size had an appeal to Anakin that he could not understand, but he liked how the demon looked at him affectionately every time the fairy was small.
On their one-year wedding anniversary, Obi-Wan and Anakin traveled together. It was the first trip they made as a couple and it had been simply wonderful, even though Anakin insisted that they stay at the hotel because he didn’t want to stop fucking Obi-Wan even for an hour. The demon said that the trip was the late honeymoon and that the goal was to fuck until they got tired, Obi-Wan countered that they already did that every day at home. So, he managed to convince his husband to go out and explore the city.
It was not very difficult to bend Anakin for his wishes. Obi-Wan just had to hit his eyelashes, flap his wings, pout and Anakin was already in his hands. Sometimes when the demon was particularly difficult, Obi-Wan turned into his original size and laughed with the cheerful sounds of bells, looking pleading and sweet at Anakin and that was all it took to finally convince him.
That’s how he actually persuaded his husband to accept the werewolf meeting at their house. It was a real need, Obi-Wan wouldn’t ask for something like that if it wasn’t. As much as he knew that Anakin would accept even if he wasn’t. He hardly denied any more things to the fairy anyway.
The main problem was that hunters were entering the pack forest. That’s it, werewolf hunters as well as any other fantastic creature have always existed. However, at that time, this was bringing a crisis to the pack. Xanatos and his father were very stressed and couldn’t wait to solve the matter after a hunter killed a puppy.
Being a fairy and after being married to a demon, the bond that Obi-Wan shared with the werewolves narrowed, but the pack was still where the young fairy grew up. If he could help, Obi-Wan would.
That didn’t make Anakin very satisfied. It was the reason for the first argument with screams that they had, in fact.
“I can help instead!”
“I’m not going to ask you to help, Anakin! This has nothing to do with demons and I’m sure no wolf would appreciate it if you got involved in their affairs.”
“You’re not a wolf, Obi-Wan! And you’re getting involved!”
“It’s different and you know!” When Obi-Wan realized that the voices of the two were already screaming, he took a deep breath and tried to calm down. “I grew up with them, Anakin... I’m not even calling the other fairies. I just want to do my part to help. I’ve been part of that pack once. Please understand this” he approached his husband to hold his hands. Anakin still seemed angry, but no longer as outraged as before. “I need you to trust me. I have battle training, you know that.”
Anakin didn’t like it at all, but in the end he didn’t argue anymore and accepted that Obi-Wan would be part of the fight against hunters whether he liked it or not. Although they entered into an agreement, this did not prevent the demon from being completely grumpy with the whole situation.
The fact that the mansion was now full of werewolves only worsened his husband’s mood. Obi-Wan was always busy while debating strategies with the other members of the pack. They were counting on the advantage that Obi-Wan now had a portal that could go anywhere he wanted in the world.
It took days to create strategies and plans against the hunters. Anakin grumbled and complained about it in each one of them.
“I need to admit that it’s good to have you back” Quinlan said as he hugged Obi-Wan from behind one afternoon after a discussion about the last details of the battle strategy.
“I can’t stand you anymore, Quin. We can stay so many more months without seeing each other again” the fairy said mocking his friend. He tried to hide the smile that threatened to form on his face.
“Ahh... stop it, I know you love me!” Quinlan squeezed and shook Obi-Wan in his arms. The fairy laughed. Quinlan choked.
“Quinlan?!” Obi-Wan looked alarmed at his friend who was holding his neck as if he couldn’t breathe.
The fairy almost got desperate for a moment, but then he noticed Anakin standing at the door and looking with murderous eyes at his werewolf friend. “Anakin! Stop it now!” To Obi-Wan’s relief, his husband really responded to his request right away.
Quinlan took a deep breath and looked at Anakin with red eyes as he tried to catch his breath. “Fucking unnecessary, man!”
Anakin walked into the room and Quinlan ran out shouting a ‘Later, Obi!’ Which caused an angry growl in the demon.
“Oh, stop it! He’s just a friend and you know very well that he’s been dating Ventress for years!”
“You got jealous because I looked in the direction of Padmé, Obi-Wan” his husband pinned and the fairy blushed strongly with the reminder of his ridiculous jealousy from before. “You have no moral to dictate when I should be angry or not with outrageous demonstrations of affection like that.”
“Well... you know I’m yours and only yours” Obi-Wan grumbled. This seemed to relax Anakin unprecedentedly, even though his gaze was a little irritated and stressed. His husband’s hands fell on his waist which automatically made Obi-Wan rest his own on Anakin’s broad shoulders.
“I miss you,” Anakin said as he looked with longing affection and tenderness.
“I didn’t leave the house” the fairy smiled amused with the demon’s needy voice.
“You know what I mean, Obi-Wan. We only stay together and alone at bedtime...” Anakin then bent down until his lips touched the fairy’s sensitive neck. Obi-Wan got goosebumps as he closed his eyes and sighed with the feeling of Anakin’s kisses.
“Anakin... I... I’m busy” the fairy struggled to get away from his husband. Anakin was right, they were only alone at bedtime and for a couple who were used to touching each other so many times a day, it was not easy to keep their distance. Obi-Wan came out of his warm arms and turned back to the papers on the table in front of him.
“I can behave here. I promise” the fairy felt Anakin’s hands rest on his waist again and for a few moments his husband really did nothing more than that.
But well, demons were fucking liars.
It didn’t take long for Anakin’s hands to begin to explore other parts of his body or for his mouth to be attracted to Obi-Wan’s neck and shoulders. The fairy could speak as much as he wanted, but he couldn’t deny his husband when Anakin touched him. He was addicted to the demon’s touch.
So, Obi-Wan was silent until Anakin unbuttoned his pants and lowered them on his thighs. The fairy bit his lips trying to remain silent while his husband leaned him towards the table in front of him. He didn’t even read the papers rested there anymore, but he kept pretending to be paying attention.
“Only the tip” Anakin whispered in his ear at the same time that Obi-Wan felt the cock’s head enter inside him. He closed his eyes, laid his head on the table and moaned.
Minutes later his husband was already completely inside of the fairy. A few more minutes later Obi-Wan’s mouth was covered with Anakin’s hand to prevent the werewolves visitors hearing his moans while his husband established a constant pace in and out of Obi-Wan’s hole. Later, the floor was dirty with the Obi-Wan’s cum while Anakin entered the fairy one last time and came deeply inside of Obi-Wan.
Fortunately no werewolf commented or looked at them strangely when the couple left the meeting room.
The only good side of the situation the pack was in was that Qui-Gon got more close to Anakin. His husband didn’t mistreat any werewolf, but he didn’t pay much attention to them either. However, with Obi-Wan’s father he was always very respectful. The fact that Qui-Gon personally saw the affection between the couple also helped his father and his husband to start getting along genuinely and not just out of politeness.
Obi-Wan was happy. He wanted Anakin to get along well with those he loved. It was good that it didn’t take long, since his father seemed to age faster after the fairy left home. Obi-Wan was aware that after the death of his bonding mate, the fantastic creatures had a reduced lifespan. Qui-Gon was only 142 years old, which for a werewolf was not that much like that, but his father already had the appearance of a man in his 50s. Obi-Wan no longer knew how long he would last without his wife and his son by his side. So, yes, he was very pleased to see his family getting along well.
When the day of the fight came, Anakin didn’t want to leave his side. He looked at Obi-Wan and followed him around like a lost puppy. Who knew that the Dark Lord, Lord Vader, could look so adorable? Quinlan would probably say that only Obi-Wan thought Anakin as adorable in any state and that, in fact, the demon looked like he would kill all the werewolves of that place by taking his fairy from him to go into battle.
The magic mirror was at the entrance of the mansion. All the werewolves had already passed through the portal and now all that was missing was the fairy. “Everything will be fine.”
“It better be because I don’t know what I would do without you, my little fairy” Anakin held his face between his hands and gave a tender kiss on his forehead. Obi-Wan almost wanted to give up being part of the battle right there. “If any harm comes to you, I’ll make this whole world bleed. I’m going to make everyone regret it, I’m going to kill—“
“Well, that’s a lovely statement, Anakin” Obi-Wan chuckled. Sometimes he forgot that he was married to Lord Vader as much as he was to Anakin Skywalker. As a fairy, these kinds of demon lines made him horrified. As Obi-Wan, Anakin’s husband, he warmed up inside with how intense Anakin’s feelings of protection were. “But it won’t be necessary because I’ll be back perfect.”
“Yes...” Obi-Wan smiled with the loss of Lord Vader’s raniously protective flame. Now Anakin’s voice sounded low and worried. He stood on his toes and gave a soft kiss on the red lips of his favorite demon. “Come back to me.”
“Always” and Obi-Wan meant that.
The fight lasted hours and was not so easy, but they had few losses in the end. The hunters did not expect the strategy they had made, they did not expect that a fairy would use his magic or that the werewolves would not come running, but through portals. It was still tiring and bloody. In the end, they celebrated the victory and lamented their losses. Obi-Wan was sweaty, dirty, satisfied and sad.
For God’s sake, he couldn’t wait to go home. Get back to his hot and loving husband who was waiting for him worried. The feelings that Obi-Wan did not name bubbled inside him at that moment.
He didn’t know what face he was doing, it was probably something close to longing, love and anxiety because suddenly Qui-Gon Jinn was on his side saying what he most wanted to hear at that moment.
“We can leave from here, Obi-Wan” his father put a hand affectionately on his shoulder. “You can go” the old werewolf smiled as if he knew of a secret that no one else knew. “Go back to him.”
He wasted no time. After a quick hug on his father, Obi-Wan squeezed the magic stone tightly and asked more willingly than ever for a portal to open back home. He came out through the mirror that was still standing at the entrance of the mansion. Just like Anakin.
His husband didn’t seem to have moved a centimeter since he left hours ago. Anakin was standing with his arms crossed in front of the mirror with a frown on his face. However, as soon as he saw Obi-Wan leaving there, the relief swept away his face. The fairy flew fast until it fell against Anakin’s arms.
“Thanks to the Gods. Are you okay, my little fairy? No bruises?” Obi-Wan smiled from where his face was hidden in Anakin’s chest.
“No. I’m fine, just tired,” he murmured happily. Home. He was finally at home.
“Well, I have a hot bath prepared, a good dinner and I can caress your wings until you fall asleep. What do you think?”
“I wouldn’t ask for anything else” Obi-Wan kissed him long and loaded with all the feelings in his chest. Anakin carried him on his arms into the house.
There were very old rumors about these arranged marriages made through the Eternal Bonds. The elders of the species said that when a marriage was made of love, both spouses began to form a bond in which they shared sensations, thoughts and even the strongest feelings of each other. It was like a golden bond that connected their minds and hearts.
The elders told stories about couples from different Houses who shared this bond, but no one really believed it. Because how fantastic creatures so different and united through an arranged marriage could nurture a love so strong that it would create a bond not only of soul, but of mind and heart? Many thought that marriages between the firstborn were just that, a marriage arranged to keep the peace. Affection, respect and even hatred could exist from these unions. Never love.
But Obi-Wan knew better. He knew from his own father’s mouth the love story between him and his mother. He knew that love, no matter how difficult it was, could be born between species of different fantastic creatures.
He also knew that because he could no longer deny what he felt for Anakin. After all the time married, all the days shared, all the laughter, kisses, tears, Obi-Wan knew more than anyone that love could indeed be born between creatures even from different Houses.
He loved Anakin from the bottom of his heart. Deeply. Burning.
He didn’t know if the demon, however, could love him.
Obi-Wan wasn’t an idiot. He saw Anakin’s affection, he saw how his husband treated him with more tenderness than any other being in the world. He also knew that the demon himself threatened the Council if they didn’t marry him to Obi-Wan.
He knew that. He knew that his marriage was already much more than one day he thought it would be. So, he shouldn’t have been surprised when he heard Anakin calling him.
Obi-Wan had traveled this time to help in the harvest of the fairies, so he would stay away from home for long days. One night, the fairy was lying on top of a flower while admiring the starry night sky above his when he heard it.
It was Anakin’s voice calling him. Soft, affectionate, loving. Obi-Wan felt it all over his body, he felt it inside his bones, inside his mind, inside his soul. And then he knew what that was.
He smiled happily. ‘Hi, husband.’ It was silence for a moment, but the fairy still felt the emotion of surprise and love that did not come from him. Then, he heard Anakin’s fun, happy laugh.
From there, they spent the remains of the days with conversations that only they could hear through their golden bond. Trying to manage the longing and the distance through it.
The formation of the bond was their first declaration of love.
Since Obi-Wan was a little fairy he heard the love stories in the pack, among the flowery fields of the fairies, the love story between his parents. He then dreamed of the day he would live his own. When Obi-Wan married Anakin Skywalker he felt his dream run down his hands like desert sands. There was a time, at the beginning, when he resented Anakin for it.
That Obi-Wan never imagined what his marriage would turn into. He never imagined that he didn’t actually know his husband, that Anakin was much more than you initially see.
They would share companionship, affection, love. Anakin would become his safe haven, his home and when Obi-Wan realized he already had everything he dreamed of when he was younger.
An unconditional, genuine and eternal love.
His demon didn’t say with all the words ‘I love you’. He showed it every day. When he kissed the fairy with love, when they shared stories and jokes, when they provoked and made fun of each other, when Anakin came home after a trip and the first thing he did was give Obi-Wan a tight hug.
Anakin showed his love when he accompanied Obi-Wan to the kingdom of fairies, to the pack, even though he was not very comfortable with creatures of the House of Lights. He showed when he was a protector, when he looked with admiration and praised Obi-Wan, making the fairy feel like the most beautiful being in the world.
Anakin showed his love when he laid Obi-Wan on the bed and fucked him until the fairy screamed in pure pleasure. When Anakin hugged him later and caressed his wings lovingly until the he fell asleep happy while the demon watched after his sleep.
Anakin made declarations of love to Obi-Wan every day without saying a word.
And Obi-Wan? Stars, he loved Anakin Skywalker for that more than anything.
Their differences did not make the relationship easy, but their love softened everything as much as the flapping of a fairy’s wings. No one would believe that a fairy and a demon could feel like this for each other, at least they wouldn’t believe it until they looked at the couple because it was stamped on their faces for everyone to see.
Obi-Wan imagined what their next centuries together would be like. He dreamed that everything would remain like this, soft and loving. They would eventually argue about having heirs and would not reach an agreement on which species to have first, so a fairy boy and a demon girl would be born almost at the same time. Luke would grow up to be very similar to Obi-Wan, while Leia would be like Anakin. But their kids would still carry traits from both parents, Luke would like to get dirty with grease with Anakin, Leia would love to participate in the fairy harvest. The two would be very spoiled by their grandfather, Qui-Gon Jinn, until he turned 200 and finally met Serena in the afterlife.
They would be an unusual family, but they would be as happy as possible.
Over the years, this would be how their relationship would be built. They would not live great epic moments, a love to survive in times of war, between rivalry of species, no... their love would always be calm, soft for all the centuries they would spend together with each other. Just as Obi-Wan dreamed of.
Despite the almost immortality, they both would begin to age, Obi-Wan faster than Anakin. His husband would smile at his new white hair on his beard, he would kiss the new wrinkles on Obi-Wan’s face. The fairy would also love every new detail that the years would bring to Anakin’s face.
And although they were much older in appearance, Anakin would still look at Obi-Wan and see his little fairy with long red and shiny hair, and Obi-Wan would still see his strong, tall and beautiful demon as on the day they married. They would still cuddle in their bed, Anakin would still caress Obi-Wan’s wings. They would still be the same hearts as before, still beat together, they would still shake saying a mute ‘I love you’ to each other.
Stories would be told about the love of Anakin and Obi-Wan. About the love between a fairy and a demon, a creature from the House of Darkness and one from the House of Lights.
The fantastic world would receive a great example of what the power of love could do. To keep peace, to overcome the prejudice.
And on the day that a fairy with already full white hair was undone into magical powder, his favorite demon would follow him the next day to continue to live their eternal love in the afterlife.
