A Collection of Thought

Chapter 168: (WOTW) Tsuki gets put on trial for his crimes against the Uzumaki (and other assorted tales of time travel)

Summary:

On a more lighthearted note: Tsuki, after telling people about the time travel (something I think he'd do eventually, but also he might just as well never mention it simply because he doesnt feel like it.) would definitely just start lying about shit.

He's gonna tell Tetsuo they are happily married with three children (Behind him, Sora sneezes) Meanwhile Tetsuo is just staring at him like:

Tsuki: "You impregnated me Tetsuo. Take responsibility."
Sora: "Yeah Tetsuo, take responsibility."
Tetsuo, through gritted teeth and with real tears in his eyes: "Stop talking. I need you to stop talking. Now. Right now."

Notes:

Much like chapter 161, I'd usually toss this in with the collective wolves of the woods chapters (aka the naruto oc things)-- but its so long and so specific that I feel compelled to put it in its own section, for continued easy sorting.

(plus my usual style of sorting posts in order of their original post date would do this one a disservice I think, with how it connects to Iwao's post)

(See the end of the chapter for more notes.)

@oh-no-its-bird

I do not think Tsuki visited Uzushio after he got spiraled, mostly because I very much like the idea of him finally going to Uzushio towards the end of his story as this big Thing(tm), The Final Return(tm), back to where it all started,,,, And if he'd been there in the in between, it might take away from that impact, if that makes sense?

But still-- I can't deny that the mental image of a freshly spiraled, 15 year old Tsuki; This still soaking wet noodle of a boy, bedraggled, newly possessed and actively re(?)-learning how to use all his limbs, being put on trial by mid-warring states era Uzushio courts, is really funny.

And the lawyer ended up adopting Tsuki and nothing bad ever happened again (Till Daisuke rolls up with child custody papers in hand and murder in his heart)

@oh-no-its-bird    🔄

see, I knew u would get me,,

stuffy Uzumaki lawyer and the freaky spiral daughter he signed up for before really realizing the what "freaky spiral daughter" really meant but was too stubborn to backtrack. He signed up for this and by the tides will he see it through!

I think he's under the impression Tsuki is a cis girl, and Tsuki doesn't care to correct the assumption. He both has other worries rn and also legitimately doesnt mind / probably likes it. This might be her first long term experience in being referred to by other pronouns, actually.

It's partially because of this that the lawyer, let's name him Iwao, offered to defend Tsuki to begin with. He saw some drugged(?) little girl(?) on trial and couldn't sit still (and later he learned Tsuki is 3 years older than he'd thought and usually a guy, but atp was in too deep to care about the details)

I can't decide if he's had kids before or if Tsuki is his first experience with fatherhood. Both options are neat-- some backstory of having a dead daughter could be interesting, and would mean Tsuki gets a sister <3 But also I like the idea of him floundering and experiencing being a girl dad for the first time ever (and also finding he really likes it)

ANYWAYS YES. Stuffy, protective Uzumaki lawyer in custody battle with a terrifying Hatake man with a reputation for unmatched violence,,

Daisuke wants his kid back NOW. Iwao is actually probably terrified of this guy but his papa bear instincts over Tsuki win out, he is standing his ground !!! He doesn't trust Daisuke and is also over attached to Tsuki now-- maybe she's better off here with the Uzumaki! They can take care of her, and the thing inside her! Best of all, they can keep her safe

(Because Iwao, who is a civilian living in the closest thing to a shinobi village before Konoha, has Opinions(tm) of shinobi outside of their walls. And the fact that Tsuki doesnt actually fight being coddled or kept away from battle has only fed his desire to keep her wrapped in a little bubble)

I sure hope their firsts interaction of Iwao blocking Daisuke's access to Tsuki for fear of the man (and because Tsuki is tight lipped about his clan besides just "I need to go back") doesnt lead to any drama !! Oh boy I sure hope they dont become parental rivals fighting over Tsuki but also coming together to protect him from the outside threat of those seeking to take advantage. And then kiss. Or something.

(Tsuki ships it. In Tsuki's perfect world, he'd just take Iwao back with them. Maybe its his turn to do the imprisonment <3)

#im so glad u saw my vision#the second I decided this guy was a parental figure to Tsuki i went “oh fuck yeah and I could ship Daisuke with him”#Daisuke deserves more good things#he has an impressive amount of interesting things going for him for someone I only ever really mention as a background character#i should start shipping Daisuke with people for fun#him and Kono I personally read as more sibling dynamic but u could probably ship them if u wanted to#him and Haruka got married in minecraft on their own which is both funny and made me consider them for a second#I'd make a joke about Maru but Maru continues to be in love with Mioki no matter how long she's been dead#but also I can see Maru and Miok being ok with bringing thirds into their bed so who knows what THAT history looks like#Honestly I kind of see Daisuke as having similarly “not really interested” vibes as Tetsuo#tho maybe slightly less aro/ace coded and more “he just has priorities and this isnt high up on the list” if that makes sense?#He's been surrounded by romantics (Maru and Mioki) and hypersexual people (Haruka) and also the very specific category that is Kono#for a large portion of his life#and thats probably impacted his own views and how he interacts with sex and romance as more of something that happens to others than him#Im getting off topic but id have to think about it more. Idk tho Daisuke just has a very specific energy to me when it comes to this

A time travel in your naruto au could PROBABLY kill a guy or two me thinks

@oh-no-its-bird

Assuming "your naruto au" references wolves of the woods since that's probably my largest/well known one;

Oughh WOTW time travel,,, I'd love to see it. So much possibilities,, so many potential jokes about writing a reader x Haruka where the plot twist is the reader was Sakumo's real father all along,,,

The incredible @imsosleepyofyourbull actually wrote WOTW time travel for me and its incredible and I need everyone to know that.

Unironically tho, time traveling to the start of that AU is likely to get a guy or two killed. Especially if you land in the Iron woods before they're headed to Konoha </3 The Hatake of the time are on high alert and, if someone were to simply stumble into their little home, would be forced to either kill them or keep them (so they cant go around spreading rumors of how few of them are left)

The choice they settle on will probably depend heavily on the person in general, tho they'll be given some opportunity to speak for themself first. Unfortunately, there is almost no way to talk them into actually letting them leave, so they better settle in and get comfortable till the Hatake go to Konoha.

I'm actually gonna go ahead and just copy paste some of what I sent to Sleepy when they had questions for their time travel AU about individual reactions the clan would have to a time traveler.

For context, our time traveler in question is Sleepy's oc, Shikajin, the Nara who took Shiruka's place as the Nara second in command after she got kicked out of the head family. She's an old woman now in her child body, and managed to stumble straight into the Hatake camp and end up in the above situation of "we're either going to have to kill you or keep you, sorry kiddo!" And because of her perceived age, the Nara clan name, and the fact that she spilled the time travel beans to Haruka, they're keeping her <3

Ok now for that copy paste about individual reactions (And a general disclaimer that, while Shikajin is our example time traveler, I think the reactions would generally be similar for most time travelers):

Daisuke

Daisuke thinks she's a freaky little freak girl and will moan and groan ab her being another problem child foisted into him, but everyone knows he likes the problem children the most. (See: Tsuki) So from him this might as well be a seal of approval. Probably. It's hard to tell.

Daisuke: "She's a problem. A walking, talking, living problem who knows too much and not enough. She's going to get one of us killed, if we leave her be." Either Maru or Haruka (all three are good friends well versed in reading each other): "So you like her." Daisuke: "I didn't say that." Maru/Haruka: "Well that's what I heard."

As her designated minder (thanks Haruka.) He is keeping a very close eye on her and possibly enlisting her to help w medical things (??) though this might just amount to like, basic chores such as cutting bandages, washing clothes, helping grind herbs, etc. Nothing requiring genuine skill

Daisuke is one of the few people Haruka would fully inform about the time travel (Along with Tetsuo, and Maru)

Tsuki

Tsuki doesn't really know what he thinks of her as a person yet, but has taken interest in the anomaly that she is. The way the world warps around her calls to him, the wrongness of her being there speaks to smthn inside of him. I don't know if she can sense it too, and I don't think Tsuki particularly cares if she can either way. She has his interest for now, and while he's liable to get bored eventually, that attention probably won't move for a while. Especially while they're still in the iron woods and she's the most interesting thing he's seen since he first witnessed the spiral.

She'd be seeing a lot of him either way, seeing as Daisuke is Shikajin's minder, and Tsuki is Daisuke's ward— even though Tsuki's an adult now (he's like 18/19 at this point, I think) but like he hangs around the healers hut a good amount when not with Sora or Tetsuo.

I think he'd ask if she wants to go back, maybe even make a vague offer of possibly being able to help her with that (though he wouldn't say got or why unless she accepted— in which case he'd reveal his grand plan is just feeding her to the fucking spiral demon so she can get trapped in time for ??? Years then (hopefully???) re-released around the same time she first traveled from. So like. A lot of fucking issues with that plan, actually.)

This is actually part of smthn I'm playing with for here before and after me, but shhh you didn't hear that from me

Haruka

Haruka thinks she's fascinating. She alternates between treating her like the child she looks like (Haruka thinks this is hilarious. She's getting crazy kicks out of calling her kiddo) and like the elder she knows she is. She probably only busts out the formal titles like lady Nara or elder Shikajin, or whatever the fuck would be appropriate for a clan head to address a respected elder of another clan with, when having really serious 1 on 1 convos. This is how u can tell she's being level w Shikajin and acknowledging her status n stuff.

Otherwise tho. It's kiddo and Jin-chan. If Shikajin argues she's gonna get a big smile and "oh but kiddo, how else am I supposed to help cover for you? We don't want anyone getting suspicious, do we? Besides, you should really be grateful, you know, reliving your youth! Ahh what I wouldn't do to be young and spry again..." Before starting to wax poetically about like, wanting to be able to touch her toes without all the bones in her body snap crackle popping.

Oh alternate nickname could also include fawn bc like. Baby deer. And she often calls the kids of her own clan "pup" Anyways Haruka is mostly watching her. They seem to be on the same, or at least a similar page, but Haruka remains inwardly cautious while outwardly perfectly relaxed. (As is her tactic with most things)

Haruka also has an insane crazy leverage in this situation, yk, considering everything. So there's that to consider also All things considered tbh, Shikajin lucked out a bit, getting a clan head that can be reasoned with. I think that Haruka would tell the full truth of Shikajin to Maru and Tetsuo, as her third and second in command. Daisuke would also be told ab the time travel at least, though not all the details, while Tsuki is let in on some conversations n stuff as their sort of expert in the field

If anyone ever finds out and confronts her ab not telling them, she'd probably just go "oops, I thought I'd forgotten something, teehee <3" and they'd have to cope about it.

Tetsuo

Tetsuo is incredibly cautious, cold, and standoffish towards her. This is also however his default so it's really nothing new. To Shikajin, who probably has only ever met him like, once, literal decades ago, he might come off as particularly unfriendly and distrustful. Everyone around him tho, who are all used to his resting bitch face problem and also just general standoffish/formal way of existing, are going ??? Wdym, he's just like that.

Knowing about the time travel, he pities her as a fish out of water in the midst of another clan. He feels very bad for her, actually, especially with Tsuki having taken apparent interest in her (better her than him, though) but will do very little to actually stop Tsuki so long as it doesn't look like it's gonna escalate to any sort of physical harm.

He honestly thinks they should either kill her or find a way to silence her, he doesn't like the idea of just... Keeping her. It's a liability, and a dangerous one at that. But he trusts his clan heads judgment, and honestly he doesn't want to see her dead— just, recognizes it would be a valid decision, if they want to protect themselves. Though, as they decide to go to Konoha and officially accept that they're about to be exposed anyways, he throws that idea out the window as it would now cause much more problems than it would fix.

All in all, he feels sorry for her and is keeping her at an arms distance. He's cautious of the children (particularly the twins) getting overly attached, and worries for the danger she could bring them.

Shikajin will often find him simply watching her with an unreadable face and furrowed brows. The twins promise he just looks like that, but who knows if she believes them

Kurumi

Kurumi thinks she's fucking fascinating and is going to regularly harass her with (mostly) harmless tricks and tons and tons and TONS of questions. Some of the questions are... Actually pretty insightful? She's very curious about Shikajin's own clan and the differences between them. I think she'd take particular interest in their famous ino-shika-choi alliance Shikajin is THE first person outside of her own clan that Kurumi has ever seen, let alone been allowed to interact with. Kurumi is gonna be all over her fr

Kurumi thinks her every day is BOORRIIINGGG and celebrates the change that Shikajin's arrival signals

^ And thats where the copy paste ends because I got distracted before I could think about the other individual clan reactions </3 But you get an idea.

This was very likely not what u were asking about but I'm happy to have gotten to shove it towards u anyways, my bad and thank you for that !!

Thank you for your ask <3

#god I love time travel#time travel aus....save me time travel aus..........#Anyways. Whens the Siam and Hiro time travel au where Siam immediatley gets clocked as an Uchiha and hunted for sport for it#hes not even a “good” Uchiha#Hiro character arc where he goes from bullying him to “hold on wait only I can call him out as the OG konoha clown” as others hop on board#and point out his failings#thats HIS loser uchiha get your own

lovely-little-corvid asked:

Hi Bird 👋

Your most recent post about time travel in WOTW has me thinking. Fun time. Would their reactions be different if the person came from another world? Like isekai style? Also how would they handle a Hatake of their time time traveling back? Say Tsuki for example because he's the first one who popped into my mind.

He was cackling in there, FYI. The chaos. The chaos.

@oh-no-its-bird

Ooo the classic Naruto isekai fanfic set up,,, hold on I have to think on that actually.

I think it would change things, yes. First off, that would mean it's not a shinobi but a civilian stumbling into their lands; Which still carries a similar danger of an intruder that might tell others about them, but it's not as big as the danger would be if they were a shinobi.

So in general they'd probably get more bonus points of being pathetic / out of place. Plus I have to imagine they'd be visibly struggling with generally everything-- the way of life, the terrible weather, the different, plainer food, etc.

I think Tetsuo's reaction would change the most; He's very susceptible to pathetic people, especially civilians, especially if it's a kid. He'd likely keep his distance still, possibly even more so than before (aware that his resting bitch face has a history of frightening or upsetting people, and not wanting to make their time here even worse) But would be much more likely to step in with Tsuki's meddling, whereas before he'd only step in if Tsuki looked like he would cause actual harm to them.

Come on Tsuki, have some self control-- it's like kicking an injured animal, in Tetsuo's eyes.

Second off, Isekai style getting tossed into this world is very different from just time travel.

The Hatake are ready to believe a time traveler because they have Tsuki standing over there; Living proof that time fuckery is possible (as he lost those 3 years then appeared one day looking just as young), and also a walking detector for time-shenanigans that could verify there's something wrong with the person.

I think they would still believe them, but there'd be a lot more doubt/mystery/questions involved. What do you mean, another world? Like... the spirit realm? No...?

But that's also assuming our traveler tells them-- but also, even if they don't, Tsuki is still like. Right there. And definitely senses that they have some fucked space time shit lingering around them. If anything, I'd have to imagine the traces of it are even stronger or stranger than they would be if it was simply time travel.

Quoting the previous post real quick;

So all of this still stands, but I do not think he's going to get distracted as easily as he would if it was time travel. Another world entirely... Our time traveler has his full attention, and likely will for a long time.

In general, I imagine the clan is a bit nicer and much, much more curious. Both those with the knowledge of them being from another world and not. How did a civilian end up all the way here? What do you mean another world?!

!!! Hatake time travel !!! Im ngl, I think Tsuki would actually be a terrible choice for it. But that also makes him a fun one, so,

Let's pretend this is a full circle time travel, so around when Tsuki got eaten by the spiral for the final time. He is at his worst. This guy is not mentally sound. Waking up, 18 again in the Iron Woods, he will likely assume this is a dream, or maybe the pure lands, or even some illusion in the heart of the spiral meant to pacify him.

He's going to wander out into the snow and just sort of stand there for a little bit. He's going through a lot.

I think that specifically seeing Daisuke, actually, would be the thing to wake him up a bit.

So quoting another post for context;

Kind of a side tangent, but as I drew this I got to thinking about his and Tsuki's relationship. I think that Daisuke is the person who Tsuki tends to resemble his old self most around— or even the man he might have been without the spiral's involvement. Something about Daisuke's presence makes him comfortably himself in a way no one else can trigger.

So walk with me here really quick. Envision with me.

Tsuki is standing in the middle of the snow. Around him, dawn is breaking. His clanmates begin to go about their day; In the distance, he hears the twins laughing, saying something about Kurumi. There are dogs barking. He can hear sheep. When is the last time he heard a sheep? He thought they'd all wandered off, once no one was around to take care of them.

There's a sudden thump on his back, where Sora has appeared and flung herself at him as she's one to do-- dangling off of his back with a wide grin, looking at him expectantly.

Tsuki looks at her.

This isn't real. This can not be real. A nice vision, perhaps, but not real. So he smiles at her, a small and inauthentic thing offered to the illusion of a girl he loves but does not believe to be truly there.

INSTANTLY Sora is letting go and backing up. Tsuki is in a mood, she thinks. A weird one. He's had moods for a few years now, though there's something about this one that's... off. She's never seen a smile like that from him, let alone directed at her.

Well, she thinks, if he's in a mood, I oughtta tell someone about it. Warn the others so they don't go stepping on his toes and making it worse.

And at this point, Tetsuo wasn't quite The Tsuki Handler(tm) just yet. One of, yes, but it's once they're in Konoha that he becomes the main guy for that. So as Sora backs off to go give the heads up, she wonders if she should try to send someone to help Tsuki along. Tetsuo, sure, but beyond that...

Tsuki continues to stand there, simply watching as the shadows of his clanmates move about their day. It's very realistic, he thinks. Very convincing. He'd want to believe in it, if only he didn't know better. He's tempted to indulge in the fantasy, but is still debating if it would be distasteful to do so. Beyond that too, he feels... odd. Not quite real, floaty and detached from what's happening around him.

His clanmates, sensing his mood and likely warned by Sora, continue on as they were; Going through the motions of their morning routines.

And then--

There's a hand on his shoulder. Big and warm, belonging to a man a head taller than him. Tsuki can smell tobacco smoke. It's a smell painfully reminiscent of his childhood, something he associates almost exclusively with one person.

(Daisuke had not died with the majority of the clan on that dreaded war-time mission gone wrong. Instead, he had passed some time before. Tsuki had not been present, but was assured he died a good shinobi death, protecting the young shinobi accompanying him.)

He was taller than Tsuki remembered. Or maybe Tsuki was shorter, now. He was saying something too, his lips moving for all that Tsuki could not hear the words over the sudden sound of crashing of waves filling his ears.

(Tsuki had taken his death as well as he could. Which was to say, not very well at all.)

Daisuke waits expectantly, seemingly for some answer to whatever it was he just said. When Tsuki does nothing but stare at him blankly, the man scowls. And then, as if Tsuki really was still some child, he scoops him right up to carry back inside.

This can't be real. Is playing on loop in Tsuki's head. But the smell-- That smell--

Tsuki buries his head into Daisuke's neck, and for a moment, allows himself to indulge in this dream.

He just wants a hug from his dad :(

Anyways.

Tsuki time travel would be lots of fun and chaos but I think it also has to come with angst. I cant see a world where Tsuki doesn't absolutely Go Through It(tm) at least for a little, if sent back in time. And that isn't even considering how much his and Tetsuo's relationship grew and changed when they came to Konoha-- yeah, the basis of their dynamic had been years in the making, but it was in Konoha that things really fell into place in a comfortable sort of way.

Tsuki is only 20 when they go to Konoha, and 31 by the time he's once again taken by the spiral. That's eleven years of character development gone. 13, technically, since we'd be some time out from them going to Konoha. (Let's say this specific time travel AU puts him at the start of Wolves of the Woods, a few months before they get invited to the Iron Capital, near the start of the winter (so also before winter sickness kills 5 of them))

Plus, if we're looking at Tetsuo/Tsuki as a ship, while I honestly can't tell you when they started leaning into more of a romantic reading, I guarantee it wasn't till Konoha that you could consider them any sort of "serious".

That'd be a serious loss to Tsuki, who while he would be super down to just act like nothing is wrong and go straight to treating Tetsuo his sort of normal, obviously wouldn't be given the reactions he wants/expects from the Tetsuo of his time.

This would be a period of time where, while Tetsuo may be able to comfort Tsuki, he doesn't really know how to control him yet. And this is also suddenly a Tsuki who is, well, used to letting Tetsuo influence him. Who almost depends on it, especially when he feels vulnerable, off kilter, or not in control of himself. And this is also a thoroughly vulnerable Tsuki coming from the height of his spiral (budum tss)

I imagine that his dominant emotion, when not keeping up his mask, is a detached passivity that has him just sort of,, floating through life. Which is honestly probably some sort of mechanism keeping him from fucking losing it and trying to obliterate everything around him in some sort of well overdue fit of rage and grief.

I do think Tsuki would have fun, poking at this younger version of the clan he loves. He gets to re-experience a lot of wonderful firsts, gets to reminisce about how life used to be, all that good stuff. And as I said, that would be fun for him! It's just that he'd also lose a lot, and I have to imagine that'd hurt him more than he can even really put into words/recognize.

I can also definitely picture him getting unreasonably upset when one of his precious people don't react in the way they would have 13 years in the future. The fact that Tsuki himself would suddenly be stuck in his 18 year old self, with all the chemicals and mental shit he was dealing with at the time, would also probably make him even more dangerous in that regard.

Past all of that though: Tsuki is 1000% the kind of time traveler to "take matters into his own hands" and go around making some uhhh. Executive decisions for people. Only he's Tsuki, so the things he chooses to change are a huge mixed bag and he's generally insufferable to work with.

I think one of the first things he'd try to fix, seeing as he came before the winter sickness, is obviously the deaths that brought them. Which means his first self imposed mission is going all the way to Fire Country to drag back a Senju to heal them <3

This is also a pretty good time to mention that Tobirama actively dislikes this guy. Entirely for legitimate reasons too, seeing as again, Tsuki can be insufferable to work with and often chooses to be on purpose. So. I'm sure that'll go great.

And hey, while he's there, maybe he can even help prevent Izuna's death. I think that he'd like Izuna, actually.

Also on his list of things to change: He might insist on going to the Iron Court with them but also might use it as an excuse to vanish into the woods on another self imposed mission.

Also he's 1000% going to go hunt down the biiju to warn about the future-- them being sealed away was the source of so many future problems, in his point of view. It starts the war that kills his clan, it spreads the jinchuriki seals that prevent him from exposing his own yokai affiliations for fear of what may be done to him, it in general upset the balance of the world and pushed yokai into hiding, and it was technically (from his point of view) tied directly to Madara coming back crazy with Kurama in hand.

On the note of Madara: Tsuki has some motivation to do something about that general mess (though who knows what). Madara was well liked among the Hatake before he went off the deep end, and ofc, as just stated it is in Tsuki's interests to prevent him from putting Kurama in the position to get sealed.

As I say all this though, there's also the fact that Tsuki is established to be incapable of taking missions away from home because of his mental state. So how the fuck is he supposed to do all this on his own? Easy! I think he should get to drag along a deeply confused and concerned Sora and Tetsuo with him <3

Alternate option that could be fun is actually the Tsuki and Daisuke father-son road trip of doom. Daisuke deserves more of a spotlight anyways, and while the Tetsuo of this time isn't quite yet up to knowing how to direct Tsuki's crazy, Daisuke is forever the original expert.

And even is his brat is acting stranger and older than he ever has or should, that's still his brat, and he'll take responsibility for him in a heartbeat.

Now. Right now."

But yeah, Tsuki time trave my beloved,, he's such a fun option for time travel to me bc he definitely has the unique power and position to be doing shit, but also like. That guy is a total wild card. And the few out of clans connections he has are largely negative, even among allies. Plus it comes in with so much built in angst,,

Another version of this I can imagine is Tsuki being slammed back into his body at 16, freshly free from the spiral and spitting up water somewhere on a Wave country beach. That one would probably be the "Tsuki immediately goes wild and jumps straight to causing chaos and trying to fix things without giving himself even a minute to process his emotions" au, largely because he wasn't lucky enough to wake up already surrounded by his clan.

Full circle type energy with him going from his final to first interaction with the spiral,,, could be neat,, in this I think he'd also be fully assimilated with The Spiral (as he would be in AU's where he escapes the spiral a second time) so no voices are calling him back to the sea and he could definitely be classified as a yokai. I'm sure that won't have any implications or consequences at alllll

(Meanwhile in Iron Country, his clanmates still believe him dead. Completely unaware of him tearing up the countryside)

Ok this is getting very long (but also it was also very fun to think about), so I'll leave it here for now. Thanks for your ask !!! I will be thinking about this all day now

#stop it dont give me more ideas for time travel or I might end up writing for it#I already have like 3 published naruto oc time travel things u cant do this to me#my curse.... my weakness.......

@oh-no-its-bird    🔄

1- I'm ngl, sitting down and actually, seriously thinking ab the concept someone getting isekaid into WOTW is cracking me up.

Imagine getting isekaid into not just normal naruto, but a fucking Naruto fanfiction. And not even one about the main story. And yeah, oh my god what's the level of knowledge our hypothetical isekai protag has? Because the idea of it being someone who did read the fic is making me lose it a little bit.

I wanna be the guy in the truck who runs the isekai protag over. That's why you end up in my shitty naruto fic instead of the real deal, it's bc I'm the one behind the wheel. Birdmobile uber but it's me running someone the fuck over for isekai purposes. I'm so sorry. I had to do it. For science.

Just. The implication that in this huge world, in all of its billions of people, I manage to find one of the like 10 people who know the lore in depth enough to do something with it and hit them with my car.

Do they die fr fr or are they in a coma somewhere in the real world? I'll bring them flowers in the hospital if I'm not, you know, in jail for putting them there.

The idea of them also not having any knowledge is so funny too: How long do you think it'd take for a casual Naruto reader to realize they're even in Naruto? There are shinobi, sure, and the Hatake name would probably be a give away-- but beyond that, you're countries away from the main setting, decades in the past, and the only real, canon, named characters are the fucking founders. Who are, again, countries away.

I am picturing a casual reader / meme-knowledge only person going through this whole arc of adjusting to their new life, accepting they must have ended up in some strange ninja novel or something-- only for them to finally get to the (still unnamed village) and see MADARA GODDAMN UCHIHA and just.

"No fucking way."

2- I do think Tsuki would miss people he's yet to meet, especially Sakumo. I think also, he'd miss a lot of just the village in general. The noise, the smells, the people-- not even the specific people he grew to like, but even just seeing his other clanmates interact with them.

I think in particular, he'd miss the Konoha kid / teen drama. He was never involved in it, not really, but he got a lot of joy out of just seeing the messes that the twins and Kurumi would get into.

Coming back to the past, he hadn't realized how lonely some of his clanmates were. Probably because even they didn't realize it themselves. He's over invested and greatly looks forward to getting to see the them make friends all over again.

The twins especially, I think Tsuki is eager to see meet Shiruka and Natsu. I think in this life, he'd be much more involved.

Plus he did have some friends in modern Konoha-- he's even been on some dates too, and I think while he may not have as much of an attachment to them as his clan, he'd miss those people too. Akimichi Chisaki especially, who's a love interest of Tsuki's for a time

Oughh,,ok but the Uzumaki lawyer Iwao and Daisuke going on the journey with him,,, I think ur onto something,,

I think that'd fit in best in a time travel au where Tsuki ends up back on the beach at 16. Then maybe he gets got by the uzumaki and goes through the events as mentioned in Iwao's post (put on trial, only to get Iwao as her defence),,

But also: In the time travel AU where he ends up as 16 again, he's fully become one with the spiral. Which means he fully took their whirlpools away.

So now, instead of the whirlpools just being a bit fucked up, theyre just. Fully gone. No longer there. The sea is calm and clear and oh god Uzushio's natural defenses are completely gone.

This shall have consequences. Don't ask me what. But they will. Likely involving Uzushio being attacked.

The good news is that Tsuki can turn them back on, but it does sort of require him to be, you know, on the island. Something that conflicts with his grand plans of fucking shit up, fixing the future, and returning home.

So Tsuki's being kept on uzushio, being sort of adopted by Iwao which is nice, but still thinking of how she needs to leave.

Which is when Daisuke shows up after hearing rumors of some stray Hatake fitting Tsuki's general description <3

Side note: The fact that Daisuke has left the iron woods at all says a lot about him. This guy, much like Tsuki, does not take solo missions (or missions in general) due to his own mental issues. Aka: his tendency to fly into a cannibalistic berserker rage when tasting blood due to him fucking up his attempts to be a wolf sage, which leads him to attacking (and attempting to eat) both enemies and allies.

So him having gone to find Tsuki on his own says a lot. This is probably the first solo mission (or mission in general) that he's taken in decades.

But yeah, then Daisuke shows up with murder in his eyes and "give me back my fucking kid" in his heart <3 And Tsuki decides this is the perfect opportunity to escape, taking Iwao with them because he grew attached.

Additional side note: Tsuki would be so fucking vunerable in the beginning here, which I imagine made him imprint on Iwao so hard even compared to the original post I made about them.

Uhh yeah then Tsuki, instead of agreeing to go home, insists that the spiral gave her visions of the future / flattened time for her in ways that she now holds Forbidden Knowledge(tm) and tries to convince both men into coming with her on her #EpicQuest to fix things before they can even go wrong

Only Daisuke, who may or may not believe her, still wants her to come home. We can deal with this later Tsuki, please just. Just let him hold you for a second and tuck you into bed and NEVER FUCKING LEAVE AGAIN HE WILL KILL YOU IF YOU PULL THIS SHIT AGAIN HE REALLY WILL

Iwao, who does not want her to go home to the Iron woods,,,, still finds himself agreeing with the wolf man. Well, sort of. He still thinks she should come back to Uzushio instead, but otherwise, yeah, the sentiment is the same.

Tsuki is hearing this shit and going "damn. Thats crazy. Anyways gotta go save the timeline, bye." and gives them both the slip

WHAT THE FUCK !!! TSUKI THIS WAS NOT THE DEAL COME BACK HERE NOW!!!

And so we now have a 16 year old, very much probably in the middle of a mental episode and fueled by her Forbidden Knowledge Of The Future(tm) Tsuki, running around the country side doing crazy shit and spreading general chaos and terror.

While close behind her are the groups of both Daisuke and Iwao trying to get her back (out of genuine concern for her) and the Uzumaki trying to get her back (out of concern for their fuuucckkKKING WHIRLPOOLS!!!!!!!!!!!! YOU BITCH COME BACK YOU TOOK THEIR FUCKING WHIRLPOOLS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THE HOSHIGAKI ARE GONNA COME BANGING ON THEIR DOOR THEY NEED THAT SHIT TO STAY SAFE!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

16 year old time travel Tsuki and her two dads,,, what a fucking disaster. Whereas 18 year old time travel Tsuki has more angst and serious energy, I think this would be the true crack extravaganza of just Tsuki having one long manic episode, just flying off the handle and truly living her best life (till eventually, she's bound to have a crash out of Epic Proportions)

I also kind of like the idea of this au being less genuine time travel and more "no, becoming one with the spiral really did give her visions / flatten time and connect her to that future consciousness" so she really is like. 16. She's 16 and has become one with a whirlpool demon and could really use those mood stabilizer pills I'm always joking about Tsuki needing. But actually.

Also then Iwao and Daisuke get to bond over chasing her crazy ass across several countries. And also bond over having to apologize for the trail of destruction behind her. And then maybe they kiss.

Plot twist: It's actually them kissing that surprises Tsuki so much she trips and falls and is finally caught by them. She's too busy going ???? YOURE TOGETHERR????? with the biggest smile ever to even care about being caught. She'll get out of it eventually, we all know she will

Anyways I just decided I really love this actually and, removing the time travel bit to replace with the "visions of the future" or smthn along those lines, this is how the entire events with Iwao goes in general. This is the "Tsuki gets put on trial in Uzushio for stealing their whirlpools instead of going home" au expanded, thank u for ur help in getting me here I'm gonna go giggle over it for a bit.

#fuck I wanna write this now #Iwao in general is funny to me. He has civillian energy so hes spending the whole time huffing and puffing and complaining #Daisuke is going to sling him over his shoulders so they can move faster #hey-- sTOP SQUIRMING HES DOING YOU A FAVOR-- DONT KICK HIS FACE???

@oh-no-its-bird

Actually. Time travel from death Tsuki would go around collecting people, then force them all into a too small cot in Daisuke's med bay as they're all going ???? in varying tones (ranging from annoyance, concern, confusion, and amusement) Then he'd just sort of flop onto them starfish style and refuse to let anyone leave. And if you try to leave, the walls begin to distort in dizzying ways that make you fall back down, at which point they shall return to normal.

No one is going ANYWHERE till Tsuki is either bullied into letting them go free (will not be happening any time soon) or is satisfied with this surprise puppy pile (will also not be happening any time soon)

Tsuki, some people have actual work to get back to, you understand that right...?

#sighs and adds this to the list of things to potentially draw later#honestly couldnt tell u whos in the pile. Its probably his main special people#and then literally everyone else he happened to come across while hunting down those people#hed have everyone in the clan there if he could but he has his priorities first

@oh-no-its-bird    🔄

@bonesbonecollection I am chewing on ur tags like bubblegum rn

Tsuki time travel to when he was a kid,,, that'd be a special kind of mess,, right off the bat: there is something WRONG with him. One day he was a kind of shitty but sometimes sweet little brat, and the next hes a grown ass demon man thing wearing the skin of a child. I have to imagine that, even if he can hide the change at first, it's gonna be impossible to hide forever.

And without the context of the spiral/mission gone wrong where he was presumed dead for some years, his clan is definitely not going to be as receptive to his possession as they were when he was an adult. It's not, "our clanmate came back wrong but we still love him" anymore, now its "our child has been possessed by something" and by the sage are they going to be trying to get that thing OUT of there !!!

Tragically, he wouldn't be able to meet his mother, as she died during his birth-- but he would be able to reunite with Tetsuo's mother, Mioki, who had a pretty large influence on him while growing up. His first lip stain was given to him by her, and he'd often hang around and watch her sew / play dress up with her. It annoyed Tetsuo to no end, watching his mother dote on his bully, but she was convinced Tsuki was a "poor, sweet little thing"

So that would probably be interesting for him!

I'm undecided on how exactly Mioki passed away, so there's also a real chance that Tsuki would try to save her

Pivoting -> oh my god, Sora.

Tsuki has heard all of the horrible stories of her childhood, was her first and closest friend in the clan, helped her to learn to become truly human after she was free of the horrors of the blood hunter camp that once owned her. He's gonna go ballistic at the thought that she was back there again.

I forget what age exactly I said Sora was freed from the camp, but it was around 7, I think, meaning Tsuki would be 6 tops. Which, and I'm giggling as I picture it, means we are going to get a bloodline hunter camp being plagued by a fucking 6 year old demon thing out for blood.

Unleash the spiral Tsuki !! Go crazy !!! Go ham !!! Go get your friend !!!

I am picturing Tsuki running off into the woods on this quest, definitely not thinking it through and possibly being followed by a deeply worried and confused little Tetsuo, with the adults of the clan hot on their heels because OH MY GOD KIDS WHERE ARE YOU GOING?!?!?!?????

This au definitely has the potential to go wrong very quickly, but I guess all you can do is hope for the best (and that the adults catch them quickly)

Oh man, funny thought actually, pivot with me here ->

So, Tsuki does not have a confirmed father. This is because Kono refused to share those details, but it was very likely one of her many, many admirers in the Iron Court during the brief time she spent there.

But like. Years later and the clan, looking at this suddenly possessed by a demon 6 year old Tsuki (around the time when some bloodlines may make themselves known), are forced to assume that,,, maybe,,, Kono uhh,,, Kono got a little hot and heavy with something Not Quite Of This World(tm).

Kono. Kono did you fuck a biiju. Kono, be honest. Kono, Daisuke is at your grave BEGGING you for answers. He's going to CRY, Kono. How is it that even in death you can give him heart palpitations.

The worst part is that sounds like the kind of shit she'd be doing too, and every single one of the clan members who knew her would absolutely accept this as a real possibility.

At least Tsuki might have an alibi now...?

Anyways I am picturing the endgame of this AU being that Tsuki gets to save Sora before, for some convoluted reason, his adult memories are somehow suppressed/taken from him. So he gets to have that normal childhood again (but this time with a little extra oomf from the spiral, which refuses to leave him even if his adult self is no longer occupying his mind)

@oh-no-its-bird    🔄

Years later and Tsuki, all grown up, having no knowledge of any previous timeline, and having grown up with the assumption that the spiral is a product of his father's bloodline, is on a quest to find the biiju for very different reasons than the previous time travel au.

He wants to know which one of u guys fucked his mom and he's NOT taking "who the hell are you" as an answer.

#Although the vague comments about the spiral and ocean are pretty helpful in narrowing it down actually#the biiju also want to know who the fuck fathered this freak#mostly to complain
