She was mindlessly swiping through Bumble to waste time as she sat in the busy airport, and her body froze when a familiar face popped up on the screen. It was for a split second that her mind flashed back to her freshman year at university, seeing his dimple for the first time and then to her junior year, remembering feeling as though she could dive deep within his smile and happily drown.
Except, she didn’t, so Imogen simply swiped left on the photo, choosing to put him out of her mind again because what even was the point.
Until she felt a sigh fall over her shoulder, and she flinched, turning around, and she swore her heart stopped beating in her chest for a split second.
“Oof, Imogen. That hurts. I honestly didn’t know if you’d swipe right, but seeing you swipe left did something to my heart,”
“Garrick,” she breathed, out of reflex more than anything else. Garrick dropped his hand and let the smile take over his features, brightening them up.
“Hi, Imogen. Long time, no see.”
