Marinette had smiled so brightly when they split the one remaining pistachio flavored macaron.
And Alya found herself beaming back.
This girl needed someone. And Alya maybe wanted to be needed.
It was a new feeling for her, but she liked it.
And Marinette was unlike anyone Alya had ever met before.
Her thoughts were all over the place - jumping from topic to topic like a small child collecting shiny shells on a beach. It didn’t matter if most of them were broken, Marinette would turn them into something amazing - something beautiful or useful, or both!
She was also as flighty as a pigeon and she needed Alya to yank her back to the ground on occasion.
But more than anything, Marinette cared so much about what was right and what was good, she just cared so much about everything.
The same way Alya did.
The way that no one else ever had.
Alya would do anything for Marinette.
