Chapter Text
Somewhere in Unstable Universe
It had been 6 weeks since Mane got back from his ‘trip’, or whatever you want to call it, to Lifesteal. He’d been so scared of coming back, the thought of it would’ve made him throw up at the time. He’d wanted to stay in Lifesteal, he would’ve rather stayed in a random server than his home. That’s how fucking bad it got.
But…
He really had nothing to be worried about.
“Hey, Flame!” He greeted as his brother strolled back into their shared base. “Did you get the stuff I asked for?”
Flame paused. “The stuff…”
“Bro. There’s no way you forgot.”
“I didn’t forget… I just got uh— sidetracked.”
“What?” Mane looked up from what he was doing, and finally got a look at the state of the other. “Is that blood?”
“It’s not mine.”
“That’s supposed to reassure me?”
Flame threw his hands up in the air. “Hey! They jumped me bro!”
Mane rolled his eyes. “Whatever. Go change your shirt, that’s disgusting.”
Flame pushed past him, muttering something like “What did you think I was about to do…”
Mane crossed his arms. “What was that?”
“Nothing!” Was the short reply, then he was gone.
Mane sighed and turned back to what he was doing. His brother was a fucking idiot, but he’d be lying if he said he hadn’t missed this. They bickered like they always had done, like nothing had ever changed. Like they didn’t have a fight and not speak for almost a year. But that’s what brothers do.
And they’ll always be brothers.
Nothing will ever change that.

At Lifesteal Spawn
6 weeks. 6 weeks back. 6 weeks since he’d last saw Flame. But… that wasn’t really Flame. Not his real brother. He really hoped that other version of himself had pulled his shit together and they were okay now. Because even if Mane wasn’t with Flame right now, at least somewhere out there, there was a universe where they were together. As brothers should be.
He’d be lying if he said he wasn’t jealous, of course he was, but he’d found peace with it. Seeing that other version of Flame, it somehow put his mind at rest. Somehow made him confident that wherever Flame was now, he was okay.
And that one day they would reunite.
Because clearly not even the literal universe could keep them seperated for too long. Because they had a bond that was stronger than that.
They had a bond that was stronger than anything.
Nothing could break that.
Not even being apart.
