Locked Fangs

Chapter 7

Notes:

Has it been over a month? Yes... yes it has. I have no defense besides being absolutely CONSUMED in my Stardew Valley farm (my main one cause I'm so close to perfection but I'm still really far away with 160 hours). Anyways here's the chapter that you've waited for!

(See the end of the chapter for more notes.)

Chapter Text

      After everyone left Kurogiri turned towards me. “It would be wise of you to not bother Tomura for the time being.” He takes my finished empty glass and begins to clean it. “But I know that would do little to dissuade you from attempting to cheer him up.” I hum in acknowledgement, crossing my arms and placing them on the counter, laying my chin on top to think of what to do. ‘I don’t know what food he likes but he seems to like honey milk tea when I make it so I should definitely make that…’ Kurogiri finishes cleaning my glass and starts to wipe off the counter. As if reading my mind he answers my question. “Tomura likes Ohagi.” At this I perk up knowing what to do. “Thank you Kuro!” I say while running to the kitchen to prepare the meal. ‘I’m gonna make curry and green tea to balance the sweetness of the Ohagi… I hope he likes it.’

      Having a tray of food isn’t too hard to balance, but adding a cup of tea on top does. After finally shuffling to Shigaraki’s door without (somehow) spilling anything I knock on his door. I don’t hear a response but I can hear him talking… or yelling. ‘I guess he’s playing League of Legends… that’s definitely one way to blow off steam.” I think while placing the tray of food next to his door. I quickly run to my room to grab a sticky note and jot down a quick note and place it on the tray hoping he will eat something. ‘I feel bad for the people he’s playing with… actually I feel worse for the poor controller and screen.” As if manifesting it I hear a loud crash from the screen breaking. ‘Welp… there goes another one.’ I let out a quiet sigh and head to my own room, not concerned about the recurring incidents of him breaking his screen.

      When inside of my room I begin to finally process what is happening, making my way to my closet to get ready for bed. ‘If they were going to attack each other, possibly killing considering Shigaraki’s quirk, how are they going to be to work with?’ I finish getting dressed and head to the bathroom to brush my teeth and wash my face. ‘Telling by Kuro’s statement we will likely take them… after convincing Shigaraki to calm down. Wait, does that mean they will live with us? Or are they going to be on a “probation” period so they stay wherever they are?’ I pat my face dry and go back to my room getting under the covers, before falling asleep I have one last thought ‘I really hope the girl gets to stay.

~~~
      The next morning I go to the kitchen to start making coffee and some breakfast, but soon wake up after seeing the dishes I used for Shigaraki’s meal last night. Smiling to myself I start brewing some coffee and begin to make some eggs and toast. Making some extra in case either of the boys want any and I put the dishes in the sink to be done after my meal. Making my way to the table to eat my meal Shigaraki walks in, looking like he stayed up all night… again. “There's some coffee brewed and I made extra eggs and toast if you want any.” He sluggishly nods and heads towards the coffee to start pouring himself a cup before grabbing some food and sitting with me at the table. Neither of us spoke having just woken up but it was a content silence.
      After finishing my meal I get up and walk towards the sink to start doing the dishes and cleaning the rest of the mess I may have made while cooking last night. Shigaraki eventually brings his dishes to the sink and I reach over to start cleaning them but before I can pick up his cup he puts his hand on my head, having his pinky lifted, and starts to… pet me? “Thank you… for last night and this morning.” He removes his hand and avoids eye contact. I stare at him like a deer in headlights, ‘I was not expecting that…’ After a moment of silence Shigaraki puts his hands in his hoodie pocket and begins to walk towards the door. But finding my bearings again I regain my composure and smile at him, “Of course, and Shigaraki… I’m always here if you need to talk.” I say gently to him hoping he understands my fondness and wishes to help.
      He hesitates in the doorway leading to the hallway before turning his head to me and nodding his head with an almost sad smile, before continuing to his destination.
      “We will be sending the new recruits to gather their equipment tomorrow.” Kurogiri said. Turning around from the counter where I was boiling water I looked at the tall man sitting at the dining table. Across from him sat Shigaraki who was eating some type of ramen. “Wait, you already have a team? I thought you only interviewed the two people brought here?” I said in response. ‘I don’t remember anybody else being brought here. It’s been especially quiet since Shigaraki went to the mall…’ Sensing my confusion on top of my question Shigaraki spoke up, “We meet some other people at different locations to test them. Don’t want any incompetent idiots to join us.” He had a hint of annoyance and distaste within the latter sentence, possibly thinking of the two people that came here.
      “I will have the group meet us here beforehand so we can discuss the plans for the attack.” Kurogiri says bringing the conversation back to the main point. At this point the electric kettle went off and I grabbed it making the tea for the three of us. Bringing the cups over and placing them in front of each of them respectively, I finally take my seat between the two. “Does this group have a name?” I asked, ‘It feels wrong to call them “group” or recruits especially if they are going into a fight with us.’
      Kurogiri first shook his head with Shigaraki following suit. “I think we should name them, it feels wrong to call them ‘the group’ repeatedly. Especially if they are going to fight for you.” I say, specifically looking at Shigaraki with the final sentence. “If you would like to name it you may come up with it y/n.” Kurogiri says with a small laugh at the end. Shigaraki (apparently holding in a laugh) finally starts to chuckle to himself as if finding the situation funny. “Ya know y/n, sometimes I forget that you’re a high schooler but then you say stuff like that and it reminds me that you're still a kid.” Shigaraki says through laughs, wiping a tear from his eye.
      “Hey, I am NOT a kid!” I say unconsciously folding my arms and glaring at the man on my right. This encourages the light blue haired man to double over and hold his stomach from how hard he is laughing at me. “STOP LAUGHING! I WAS BEING SERIOUS!” I yell at him getting out of my seat to start shaking him. This, obviously, makes him start laughing harder and fall out of his chair. I (being the loving person I am) start laughing… hysterically.
      After a minute the both of us calm down and return to our seats with Kurogiri in the same spot but with a finished cup of tea. “Now that you have had your fun, y/n you can name the group if you wish but have it done by the meeting tomorrow. I would also like you to be prepared to welcome the group since you will be the one they will come to for any injuries. Considering your first meeting with Tomura-” Kurogiri was cut off by Shigaraki. “Hey!” He shouted as if to protest but Kurogiri continued. “You cannot deny your coldness towards y/n when she first arrived.” Glancing at Shigaraki with a stare that could be compared to a parents warning, he continued with the plans. “As I was saying, these new people may not want your help but you must make them accept, preferably before they leave the meeting since it would be easier to treat them after their mission.”
      After I nodded my head in understanding Kurogiri stood up and placed his empty cup in the sink and headed towards the door. Before fully exiting he said a final statement to Shigaraki about meeting up later to iron out some details. ‘I understand they don’t need me for the details since I'm simply the unlicensed nurse, but it would be nice to be involved.’ Standing up to pour out my cold tea and start doing the dishes since it's one of the only ways I feel useful to them. “It’s not because we don’t need you. It’s because neither of us want to make you do more than the agreement that Master has made with you.” Shigraki said from next to me, making me jump from his sudden proximity. “I know you want to do more… It’s the good in ya kid.”
