It was a moon lit night, the perfect time for a meeting with a certain demon in the woods, Mi-yeong had mated with their sworn enemy many months ago… Only today's meeting was different from their normal ones. “You look beautiful, did you plan something?” The man held Mi-yeong close, admiring the way she looked. She giggled, looking up at the man she fell for. “Maybe? Butttt first close your eyes.” She stood a little away from him for the moment, smiling at him still. “Okay, but you better not splash water on me like last time.” He puts his hands on his eyes, a little nervous on what the surprise could be.
Mi-yeong made sure he couldn't see and pulled out a positive pregnancy test from her pocket. “Now open them.” He slowly puts his hands down and opens his eyes. He stood there frozen for a moment, almost scaring Mi-yeong from him being quiet. “This is great news Mi-yeong!” He wrapped her in a hug and spinned her around in a circle, the air was filled with laughter and joy. “I can't believe I'm going to be a dad!” He set Mi-yeong down, still holding her. “We still need to come up with names as well.” She leaned her head into his chest, they stood like that for what felt like hours. “Mm What about Rumi if it was a girl anndddd I got nothing for a boy name.” That made Mi-yeong laugh a little. “We still have time and I agree Rumi seems like a great name for a child, I just hope she, or he, will have a happy life, even with all this craziness still going on.” Mi-yeong placed her hand on her stomach and he lifted her head up to meet her eyes. “Of course they'll have a happy life! With a wonderful mother like you and an overprotective dad like me, we'll make sure no one hurts them.” He kissed her on the forehead. “Thanks honey… I'm just worried that my pack, mostly Celine, would try to kill you or both of us, if they found out about this.” She looked away from him, already feeling guilty for seeing him in secret. “Hey, you and I both know that won't happen, we'll figure this out.. Maybe we can go to one of those towns that accepts everyone!” That made Mi-yeong smile wider, but there was still pain in her eyes. “That would be great, I hope they won't hate me for leaving all of sudden… I really hate fighting.” The man looked at Mi-yeong with understanding, holding her closer to a hug. “Me too honey… Only if Gwi-Ma can stop being stupid, we won't have to keep meeting in secret.” Mi-yeong hugged him, hoping time could just stop in the moment.
They stayed in comfortable silence, eventually they moved to laying on the grass, looking up at stars, watching as the sky slowly moved. “What if we name it, Remy, if it's a boy?” Mi-yeong chuckles. “Did you get that one from a Pixar movie?” The man tilted his head, slightly confused. “What's a Pixar movie?” Mi-yeong's eyes widened with surprise. “Well, it's a movie for kids, the company is called Pixar.” The man let out a ‘Ooh’ sound. “Sorry, my parents never really showed me any kids' movies, well actually not any movies in general.” Mi-yeong frowned. “It's fine, we'll have plenty of time to visit movie theaters.” She smiled looking at his face, he looked excited to see a movie with her. “That'll be great, we still need a plan to leave though..” Mi-yeong nods. “Of course! After a few more days of sealing the Honmoon, they won't be needing us for a while.” They both smiled at the thought of living together without worrying about anything, it went back to comfortable silence and looking at the sky again.
When it was about time they went back to their place, they kissed and hugged one last time… “And where have you've been?” Celine was in a chair. The lights were off, like she was catching a child coming home late. “You know… Just making sure the Honmoon is secured well.” Mi-yeong played with the ends of her hair and Celine sighed. “You know, you're a bad liar right? The Honmoon has been fine for a while now.” The lights flicked on. “You guys! We're supposed to be sleeping!” She was whispering and yelling at the two from the stairs, Celine sighed. “This isn't over.” Mi-yeong let out a breath, and went upstairs to her room.
The morning was tense, having Celine staring at her, knowing she's hiding something from her. When they had time after practice, Celine pulled Mi-yeong into a private room. “You know I love you, right? I noticed in practice you've been more careful for the past month. Do you need me to make a remedy?” Celine was looking away from Mi-yeong. “N-no, it's just… I'm pregnant, and I don't know who the father is.” Mi-yeong was fidgeting with her sleeve and Celine's face went into shock, she could see the color drain a little. “We have to tell Mrs. Yo-” “No! P-please just keep it a secret? I don't want her to know about this.” Mi-yeong was looking at the floor and Celine was confused. “And why is that? I'm sure she'll understand.” Mi-yeong couldn't look Celine in the eyes. “She won't… I want to keep the child.” Mi-yeong smiled a little. “Once we fix the Honmoon with our last song, I'll retire from being a k-pop idol for a bit.” Celine seemed saddened by the news and pulled her into a hug. “I promise I'll keep your secret.” They were like that for a bit, Mi-yeong didn't know what to say.
As months went on, it took longer to seal the Honmoon than expected. Mi-yeong was still sneaking out to see her demon man, while Celine was still giving her side-eye every time she went out. “Aww I can feel them kicking!” His hand was on Mi-yeong's stomach while his head was against hers. “Yeah, they started waking me up at night.” She laughed a little and he chuckled. “Have you gotten an ultrasound yet? I feel bad that I can't be with you through it, but I can help a little.” He gave her a teddy bear from behind his back. “I haven't gone to the doctor about it, but I got an appointment tomarrow…” That shocked him a little. “Can we go together tomorrow? We'll find out what gender it is too!” Mi-yeong nods and kisses him on the cheek. “Of course… I hope I don't go into labor on the way there, giving birth on the street isn't an ideal place.” He laughed and moved his hand to her face. “You know I can teleport right?” She rolled her eyes and nuzzled her head into his chest. They fell asleep on the grass, letting the sounds around them calm them further into sleep.
As the morning sun shines down on them, Mi-yeong slowly wakes up and smiles at him… Then realization hit, she wasn't in her room, and Celine was probably still in that chair, like always. “Well good morning beautiful.” He looked up at her, snapped her out her thoughts and looked down at him. “Good morning Honey… Could you teleport me to my room? I didn’t expect to sleep on the ground.” She dusted herself off, and he stood up. “Sure! That’ll give me enough time to get ready for today.” He hugged her, and sent them both to her room. “Try to survive without me!” he disappears.
Mi-yeong smiles at the floor. “What a goofball…” She changed her clothes and walked out of her room. She saw Celine doing her witchy stuff and a vampire just observing her. “Ah I didn’t hear you walk in.” The Vampire walked next to Mi-yeong. “Celine is trying to make a poison gas that only affects demons!” Mi-yeong only gave a fake smile at the news as she went towards the kitchen. “You.. Didn’t come back last night.” Celine didn’t look up from her chemical experiment and she stood outside of the kitchen door. “Of course she did! How would she be here if she didn’t come back last night?” The vampire was confused at the tension in the room when she said that. Celine didn’t say anything, just sighed.
Mi-yeong was glad that Celine didn’t press any further on the topic, she made breakfast for them and grabbed pickles and peanut butter for herself. “Ew, why are you eating that?” The vampire took the bag from the table. “I don’t know, just weird cravings I guess.” Even Celine gave Mi-yeong a look when she saw what she was eating, but didn’t say anything. “I’ll be gone for a bit. Do we need anything from the store?” Mi-yeong was already putting on her shoes at the door. “I don’t think we need to restock on anything.” Celine was still thinking. “Maybe some herbs, I need to make some healing potions.” “You got it! See y’all later.” With that she leaves the house. “Are you going to confess your feelings when she gets back?” Celine turns into a blushing mess.”...SHUSH”
Mi-yeong was already holding her lover’s hand down a back alleyway. “Are you ready?” She nodded and they walked to the hospital together. The hospital smelled like cleaning products and metal. “Hey you two, how can I help you today.” The lady smiled professionally. “We were here to see Mr. Kong.” Mi-yeong took the paperwork from the lady. “Of course, fill these out and I’ll go tell him you're here.” The lady walked away and the two went to sit down in the waiting area. After the paperwork was filled out she held his hand and squeezed it a little. “Are you alright honey?” She only nodded at him.
They handed back the paperwork to the lady and sat back down, waiting for what felt like hours. “I feel like I’ve been here for years!” Mi-yeong laughed, leaning into his shoulder. “It only been thirty minutes, shouldn’t take that long now.” On que the nurse walks in the waiting room. “Ms. Ryu the doctor is ready to see you now.” They followed the nurse into one of the rooms with a monitor and some containers with gel. “He’ll be here in a moment. Thank you for waiting.” She bowed and walked away. Mi-yeong laid a little on the chair.
The sound of the door opening caught their attention. “Hello, you must be Ms. Ryu and your husband?” The doctor walked in and the guy next to her blushes and nods slowly at the question. “This shouldn’t take long, do you want copies of the ultrasound?” they both nod. “Okay, can you lift your shirt up a little? I need to apply the gel.” She shivered when she felt the gel. “Ugh it’s cold.” The guy chuckled and kissed her forehead.
After the hospital, they decided to go shopping for baby clothes. “Aww I can’t wait to see our baby!.” He held the ultrasound photos, looking at them with the biggest smile. “Me too, honey. Have you found an apartment yet? I can already cover the rent.” He nodded and pulled her into a hug. “I already got everything covered, we don’t need you to get stressed over anything, it’s not healthy for the baby.” She giggles as he kisses her ear. “Okay, serious time. Has Gwi-ma suspected anything? I don’t want him to hurt you because you're seeing me.” She was looking him in the eyes. “No, you know he’s my dad right? He expects me to rebel once in a while, also I got Jinu to entertain him with his songs for a while.” She sighed in relief, then looked at the ground. “Hey no long faces, let's get what we need and I’ll show you the apartment if we have time.” She leaned into his arm, already tired from the day, he kissed her forehead before walking again.
They planned to meet again in the night, but this time, Celine followed her. She used a potion to mask her scent to Mi-yeong and followed a safe distance. She hid behind a bush that was closer than expected, she could feel her heart shatter into a million pieces when she saw the two kiss. “I wonder if she’ll have demonic powers… Ooh! What if she inherits both? That’ll make Rumi one strong kid.” She could see the demon touch Mi-yeong.
Celine waits for an opening, slowly moving closer to the two standing. Summoning her weapon from the Hommoon, and darts at the demon… But something else happens… Mi-yeong protected him. “NO!” A lot of blood was seeping out her chest. “Celine.. How could y-you?” Mi-yeong fell back into the demon's arms. “No No nonono Honey please stay awake.” He could feel her pulse faintly and gently set her on the ground. “I’ll call the amblan-” He got stabbed in the side. “Dumbass demon.” Celine used the poison gas she was working on, he started choking and blood came out of his mouth and eyes.
Mi-yeong could only watch as her love died in front of eyes, by her best friend. “So you were lying about the father… You know they’re monsters.” That made her angry at Celine. “H-he was nice! T-this was why I've n-never told you who the f-father was!” She coughs blood, Celine shakes her head in disappointment. “He was using you, I’m sorry Mi-yeong.” She lifted Mi-yeong into her arms and placed her into a private car, Celine pretended to be calm, but her mind was racing on the way to the hospital.
Hours went by as Celine waited, it shouldn’t have taken this long for them to patch her up… Then the doctor came out holding a crying baby from the room. Then a nurse walked towards Celine looking sad. “She lost too much blood. The doctor did an emergency C-section, and we tried to give her more blood, but it seems like she’s in a coma for the time being.” Celine was in disbelief, her vision was getting blurry. “H-how? There wasn’t any brain injury.” the nurse gave her a apologic smile. “I wish I could answer that, unfortunately we also don’t have a clue what’s going on, the doctor is planning on doing a brain scan in the near future, but for now we’re going to have to wait.”
The nurse left her with some paperwork combined with a birth certificate for the baby that was born. ‘Ugh I don’t know how to name a thing let alone a child… Didn’t the demon say Rumi?’ She sighs and fills out everything the best she could. She also realized she didn’t have any baby stuff at the house… “Shit.”
