Chapter Text
After finally graduating, Till found a way to escape the constant taunts and reminders of how lucky he was to be born from his so called ‘father’, Urak. Till landed a college far away from Urak, after landing an art scholarship through a lot of effort. Obviously, Urak didn’t approve since he believed art doesn’t count as an actual career and is impractical.
Till couldn’t stand it anymore, and this scholarship gave him the opportunity to run from it all,
Finally, be free from the voice that always kept reminding him that he wasn’t good enough,
‘a disappointment’,
His father.
His mother however was quite the opposite. She had always been kind, loving and supportive towards him, she was the reason he found the courage to do what his heart desires and pursue his dreams.
He was going to miss her,
but he wanted to make her proud.
So here he is, starting a new chapter of his life, new people, new environment and a fresh start.
But fate had other plans.
Ivans whole life had been planned out for him from the day he was chosen in the orphanage.
The perfect child,
The perfect son,
That was his purpose and who he was to become if he wanted to be accepted or be useful.
His foster parents were off a distinguished and wealthy lineage, unfortunately his mother was infertile therefore incapable of producing an heir,
That was where Ivan came in.
The child that was supposed to carry on their family’s legacy and name, despite not sharing their blood, his parents made sure he never forgot that.
And so, the little raven-haired boy became the puppet that they wanted to survive because that was the only way he knew how to,
until he met him,
the boy who burned with passion-
Till.
Their first meeting had happened in first grade, Ivan found Tills rebellious nature intriguing,
His curiosity turned to attachment as time passed, no,
Feelings,
Ivan had awakened feelings,
Ivan felt something,
For Till.
But due to an unfortunate turn of events, he had to let go of the fire, Till
And so, the two parted ways in middle school,
But the string of fate works in incredible ways.
Ivan was now standing across the fire he had let go of, once more.
There they were, facing each other after all these years. There were a million questions and words covered by a thin veil of awkwardness between them.
“Till.”, said Ivan with eyes full of wonder and unspoken thoughts while breaking the silence,
“hey” replied the Gray-haired boy
Oh my god, this is so awkward, Till thought to himself,
“ALL STUDENTS TO REPORT TO THE GARDEN BY 11:30”, interrupted a voice from the speakers,
“oh”
“11:30’s in 10 minutes, looks like we’ll have to hurry”, Ivan sighed
“yeah” replied Till as they both entered their dorm.
Their first day went by in a flash, leaving no time for a proper conversation
The clock struck 8, the sun had set long back.
“I’m gonna fucking pass out” complained Till, falling onto their couch, the introvert’s social battery was drained.
The door opens, Till shifts his gaze towards the door,
The raven-haired boy enters and meets Till’s gaze,
“you’re here”,
“Dude, were roommates”, Till replies with a grin,
“yeah”, Ivan says with an awkward smile.
An awkward silence stretches out between them-
The silence is interrupted by Till’s stomach grumbling,
Ivan starts laughing,
“HEY”, Till shoots back embarrassed,
“How about we get something to eat”, suggests Ivan with a soft smile,
Till nods with red cheeks,
The two boys bickered while waiting for their food to arrive. It didn’t feel like they had been separated for years, their bond was the same, even after all these years.
Nothing had changed,
Not yet at least.
