Chapter Text

Basic information;

• Kamaboko squad:

1. Tanjiro swaps nezuko;

Tanjiro is going to swap nezuko. In my au, tanjiro and nezuko both are of same age only tanjiro is 5 mins elder than nezuko.

Like tanjiro, nezuko doesn’t has a strong head but she does have strong legs. She doesn't has special abilities like tanjiro's smelling property but she has a property that helps her to see those things that human eyes can't.

2. Zenitsu swaps kanao.

Come on you won't need me tell you anything TT.

Zenitsu and kanao also swap their personalities btw. That means, zenitsu is going to be like kanao and kanao is going to be like zenitsu.

3. Inosuke swaps aoi.

Same as zenitsu swapping kanao lol.

4. Genya swaps with daki.

Erm, guys don't kill me but this was something i did to keep up with original au lmao TT here daki is going to swap genya and shabana siblings are going to have problems going on between them ( why? You will know in story! )

And genya is kind of going to die in mugen train arc TT.

• hashiras as upper moons:

1. Upper moon 1: ofc, gyeomi.
2. Upper moon 2: shinobu.
3. Upper moon 3: rengoku.
4. Upper moon 4: mitsuri
5. Upper moon 5: muichiro.
6. Upper moon 6: tengen and his wives
7. Lower moon 1: genya.
8. Lower moon 6: kaigaku.

Here, sanemi and giyuu are not mentioned since they are going to swap with tamayo and yushiro. They have broken free from ubayashiki's ( who is swapping muzan ) curse. Giyuu is going to be at tamayo's place and sanemi is going to be at yushiro's place. Tamayo and ushiro, since they supported ubayashiki in defeating muzan in og story, are going to help muzan this time but as humans not as demons.

Obanai is going to take nakime's place and enmu who was lower moon one in the og story is going to be at upper moon 6's place after tangen and his wives as dead.

• 12 kizuki's as upper moons ( except enmu and kaigaku coz i hate them TT ) :

1. Michikatsu tsugikuni;
Strongest hashira, muzan's favourite. Has a wife. Kind hearted, sweet, caring, understanding. Moon hashira. His breathing style is moon breathing. He has a katana that is deep violet in colour.

2. Hakuji somaya;
Quite, stays reserved, kind, caring, rarely shows emotions, has a secret crush on koyuki. Destruction hashira. His breathing style is destructive death. He uses mostly knuckle spikes but also has a katana that shines a light blue in colour.

3. Douma hashibira;
Playful, cheerful, wears a fake smile always, has a hidden anger, sadistic towards demons. Lost kotoha who was his mentor and first love. Takes care of zenitsu and inosuke. Ice hashira. His breathing is ice breathing. He uses a katana that is icy blue in colour.

4. Hantengu kanawa;
Cheerful, warm hearted, sometimes gets angry, strong, and reserved. Emotion hashira. His breathing is emotion breathing. He uses a unique katana that is kind of like a whip with spikes on it and it is whine red in colour with touches of green.

5. Managi;
Surname is unknown. Self lover, playful, carefree individual, kinda flamboyant. Is friends with hantengu, they both get along alot. Water hashira. His breathing is water breathing. He has a katana with the unique pattern on sea waves on it and his katana is dark blue in colour.

6. Gyutaro shabana;
Hot headed, aggressive and no chill dude. Dislikes hakuji. Is having a problem going on with his little sister and wants her to leave the corps. Is good friends with nakime. Blood hashira. His breathing is poison breathing. He keeps two scikles with himself that are blood red in colour. Can do blood manipulation. Has a rare type of blood.

7. Nakime otokawa;
Allof, distant, also dislikes hakuji, is good friends with gyutaro and understands him more than anyone else. Sound hashira. Her breathing is sound breathing. She has a a bow and an arrow that is golden in colour, has a special ability to manupilate her arrows.

8. Rui ayaki;
Youngest hashira of all. Often forgets things here and there. Alof, distant, doesn’t keeps his buisness with anything. Gets along well with every hashira tho he doesn't speaks much. Insect hashira. His breathing is insect breathing. He has a sword that is white in colour, it mostly glows when used.

9. Koyuki suzuki;
Hakuji's crush. Is trained by former hashira keizo suzuki who is also her father. She had strained along with hakuji. Sweet, caring, cheerful and strong. Gets along well with everyhashira and also with hantengu. Love hashira. Her breathing is love breathing. Has a sword that is in the structure of a whip and is blazing pink in colour.

10. Kotoha hashibira;
Former ice hashira. Loved douma. Had a son whose name is inosuke. Died while fighting with shinobu.

• ubayashiki kagaya swaps kibutsuji muzan. Their personalities swap too.
• muzan's human wife is going to be his loyal wife. And his daughter is going to handel everything along with tomayo and yushiro.
• kanae is going to take the place of jigoro and train konao.
• Everyone's backstory is going to be revealed along with the story's flow.
• like tanjiro, nezuko is also going to do sun breathing.
• in my au, nezuko is the one carrying hanafunda ear rings.

The snow was thick, her feet getting stuck with each heavy step she took. Lungs were freezing making it harder and harder to breath. But did she care? No, she didn't, not at all. Why would she when her brother was in such a situation of life or death? She was basically blind by her eyes at this point because she did not care. But how did this young girl end up in such a misery? Who knew what happened to such a happy family that got ruined in just one night.

Chapter Text

"Okaasan!" Nezuko shouted as she was wearing the straw bag on her back which contained coals. "I am leaving!" She shouted once again. As she was about to leave, kie yelled out, "nezuko! Wait up."

Her mother's soft yell made her stop at her place, wondering what he mother might be stopping her from before blinking as kie wipped off the black patch of coal from her face and looked down at her with utter worry and concern in her eyes.

"A young girl shouldn't walk into the town looking like this," She exclaimed before sighing and cupping her younger daughter cheeks as she continued, "are you sure you can go and sell them, nezuko? Tanjiro broke his leg yesterday, or else he would have gone to the town today."

At this, nezuko did nothing more than smile at her mother's concern as she spoke up, "Okaasan, i will be alright! And oni chan needs to rest. How many responsibilities will he take alone? I want to help him in any way i can."

Kie felt her eyes water slightly as she smiled and hugged nezuko. Nezuko was so understanding at such a small age, kie couldn't have asked for more on her life. But then, she broke the hug and looked down at nezuko once again as she muttered, "are you sure though, nezuko?"

Nezuko grinned brightly, as determined as ever as she said, "hai, Okaasan!"

As nezuko was about to make her way to the town again, two soft voices yelled up this time making her halt at her steps again, "nee chan! Wait up! We also want to go with you."

Turning around, nezuko found both hanako and shigeru looking up at her with their innocent, stubborn eyes. They repeating again, "we also want to go with you, nee chan."

Nezuko chuckled at her siblings but before she could say something, kie spoke up, "hanako, shigeru; you both are not going anywhere. Nee san doesn’t has the cart with her.. how will she carry you both down the town?"

Their eyes fell at being scolded like this, hanako — ever the stubborn one; tried once again with teary eyes, "but— okaasan—"

Kie only shook her head in no as she looked at nezuko for a solution to this stubborn problem. Nezuko thought for a while before she smiled and got to hanako's level, wiping off her tears and cupping both hanako and shigeru's cheeks as she said, "ok so, how about i bring you all gifts on my way home?"

Hearing this, hanako and shigeru; both of their eyes lit up at the proposal at they nodded quickly while smiling brightly, their eyes long forgotten off the sadness as they shinned with happiness.

Nezuko then smiled bright, happy that her siblings were happy as she turned around to to leave only to catch a glimps of her younger brother; takeo— with an axe in his hand.

Nezuko walked over to takeo and smiled as she requested, "takeo, because oni chan is not well and you can do it with no problem, could you chop some wood?"

Takeo hesistated for a moment berfore his lips formed a small piut as he muttered, "i guess... i could..." he then sighed deeply before continuing, "i thought we will all do it together."

Nezuko smiled, reaching out yo run a hand through takeo's hair as she said, "now, don't be sulky." At this, takeo frowned pushing her hand away as he exclaimed, "nee chan! I am not a kid anymore."

Shigeru and hanako giggled before kie at takeo's reaction as nezuko giggled as well, making her way to the town now after biding bye to her family. As she walked, she found tanjiro and rokuta in her way. Tanjiro was walking with the help of a clutcher as rokuta was sticking to his side like a leech.

Nezuko leaned down to ruffle rokuta's hair as tanjiro spoke up, "you didn't had to bear this much trouble for me, nezuko." Hearing this, nezuko stood straight and gave tanjiro a warm smile as she said, "oni chan can rest for a day. Take it as your holiday. Afterall you work so hard everyday, oni chan."

Tanjiro's eyes shimmered with immense love for his sister as he grined and said, "wait a second." He then took off his hanafunda ear rings and gave both of them to nezuko. "Here. Its your turn to wear them now since out birthday is approaching soon."

Nezuko's eyes widened as she looked at her brother and shook her head, trying to protest, "but.. oni chan—"

"Have them." Tanjiro said, a warm kind smile on his face, "i can have them on our next birthday."

Nezuko sighed at last, knowing the stubborn nature of her kind hearted brother as she nodded and wore them. "Alright oni chan. Please take care of yourself and everyone." She then waved at both tanjiro and rokuta as well before she made her way down the hill to the town with smile. Even if she was happy, she could tell by her gut feelings that somthing wrong was going to happen soon.

When she reached the town, she was met by the people over there. Everyone's eyes falling on nezuko as one old man called out from the top floor of his house through his window, "oh nezuko! Is tanjiro doing well? Please do thank him for fixing my my sliding doors the other day!"

An old woman who was sweeping the ground infront her house spoke up from behind nezuko, "you really came down from the mountain on a day like this, you will catch a cold nezuko."

Nezuko smiled over at her and shook her head, about to reply when a man spoke up, "ooooi nezuko! I want some coal." And another person spoke before inside their house as well, "me too, i want some coal too."

Just then a chaos broke through the town, a shopkeeper woman dragged out a beaten up guy who looked at nezuko with wail, "ahhhh nezuko!! Where is taniiro?? Anyways, please can you help me?? If tanjiro was here he would have smelled this and tell us who broke it."

Nezuko tilted her head, leaned down to inspect the broken dish on the man's hand. She observed it for while before a a piece of furr caught her attention. She looked up at the man and the woman before she said, "i think it was broken by a cat. I can see its furr on it."

The woman, surprised looked at nezuko and asked, "really? A cat?" While the man yelled while poiting at the broken dish, "see! It wasn't me, like i said!"

While anothet man with his luggages called out for nezuko this time, "nezuko! Can you help me the luggages?"

And nezuko just smiled, having been able to help people who her brother often used to help gave her a kind of satisfaction.

By the time nezuko finished selling off the coal, helping out people and buying gifts for her siblings, it was getting late. The night was approaching, cold and harsh as she thought, 'i am so late.'

But as she was going to make her way up to the mountain, a man called out from his window, "oi! Nezuko! Are you heading up the mountain right now?" The man paised for a moment before he said with his slightly wider eyes, "you can't go up there at this time. It's dangerous."

Nezuko frowned before she smiled and said, "my eyes are sharp! I can see anything in dark."

The man stayed silent for a moment before he said again, "i will let you live the night. Turn back now." Nezuko couldn't understand what was so dangerous about this as she tried to protest once again, "but—" only to be cut in middle of her words by that man, "enough of that! Come here quick. The demons will appear."

Nezuko didn't protest anymore, she obeyed as she got into that man's house. After getting there, she sat on the floor as the man kept speaking, "since along time ago, human eating demon have been prowl to appear at the end of the day. Because of that, it's a problem for us, humans, to walk around freely at night. You will be eaten if you stay out at this time, so it's the best if you stay the night here and go tomorrow morning."

As nezuko layed down the futon made by the man, she asked quietly, "can the demon... not enter the house?"

"No, they can enter." Replied the man as he smoked tobacco.

"In that case..." nezuko nodded once as she continued,"...everyone must be eaten by demons?"

The old man stayed silent a moment, blowing the smoke out of his mouth as he muttered, "the great, demon slayers kill the demons for us. Since a very long time..."

Nezuko sighed, closed her eyes as she nodded again, feeling very much tierd and sleepy ftom a long hard day. Though, before sleeping, she couldn't help but wonder, 'saburojii-san must be lonely, living alone since his family died. Next time, i will brong onii chan and my other siblings along..' a small smile spreads on Nezuko's face as her thought continued, 'even though it is scary, it's ok, because demons don't exist... even thought i believe this.. my grandmaa said this same thing before she died.'

At morning, nezuko woke up, took her basket and walked out of the house. She smiled, waved at saburojii and thanked for letting her stay the night before she left for her house. She was happy because she was soon going to see her siblings.

Times when our happiness is broken, there's always a lingering smell of blood.

As nezuko reached her house with a big smile on her face, she didn't expect there was something heartbreaking waiting for her there. Her smile flattered when she didn't heard her siblings running up to her for gifts. And that is when she noticed— blood.. bodied.. ruined home.

Her eyes widened, filling with tears as she noticed rokuta's dead body under tanjiro's that was somehow shielding him with an axe in him limp hands. She dropped everything and ran towards tanjiro and rokuta, dropping on her knees as she asked in a wailing yell with eyes filled with tears, "what??? What... what happend—" only to choke at the scene inside her house.

Shigeru, hanako, takeo and her mom.. everyone was dead. There was clear sign of struggle and blood all over their house. She cried as she approached, checking if maybe anyone one of them was alive.. but no, everyone was dead. The killer even killed the smallest of the family— rokuta. Everyone's body was cold except for one— tanjiro.

Atleast her older brother was alive! With this little hope that she could atleast save one life, nezuko picked up tanjiro on her back and started her jorney to the downwards of the mountain, to the town where she could show tanjiro to the doctor.

She had tears running down her eyes as she tried to fingure out what could have attacked their family. Was it a bear? Did a bear that didn't hibernate appeared at their house?

As she kept making her way to the foot on the montain, she just hopped tajiro would hold on just a little bit longer. She kept walking, unable to sense the little twitch of tanjiro's fingers. And within a few moment, tajiro was waking up. The voice of faint growls errupting from his throated as he threw his head back with his eyes turning completely while and his fangs getting sharper along with his nails.

Suddenly, those faint growls became more sharper as tanjiro held Nezuko's shoulders and shool uncontrollably which caused nezuko to lose her balance and fall off the cliff to the puddle of snow.

Eyes wide from terror, breath shallow as she realised; the snow saved her.. but it was also the snow that made her slip and fall like this. She huffed, sighing deeply as she sat up eyes looking for her brother as she soon noticed tanjiro at a distance with his head ducked down and body shaking with low guttural growls leaving his throat.

Nezuko quickly made her way to her brother as she said, "onii chan! Please get on my back. You don't have to walk you are injured—"

But before she could finish, tanjiro looked up with snarl, eyes that were a sweet red in colour were now a deep blood red, glowing and emotionless as he launched at nezuko with his fangs out.

Nezuko, tackled on her ground beneath her now beast of a brother trying attack her, couldn't understand what was going on. Was her brother a demon? No, that couldn't be. She had grown up seeing her brother.. he was never a demon. Infact, he was born a human, then why? And how? How did he turned into a demon?

She cried out, "onii chan! Please! It's me, your sister, nezuko!" It didn't seem like emotional talks were working on tanjiro tho nezuko somehow grabbed the axe she had with her and kept the wooden part of it on tanjiro's mouth so he won't be able to hurt her.

Suddenly, tanjiro's body grew up like a men's as he exerted more power at trying to hurt nezuko. That is when, nezuko broke down and shouted out, "onii chan please! Whatever it is please fight it! Don't let the demon inside you take over!" It still didn't work but nezuko continued, "onii chan, do you remember the time i was lost in the darkness of the mountain forest and i was so scared about what would happen to me.. and at that time, when a bear was about to attack me, you saved me. Onii chan, you so strong, so kind, please.. please don't let it take over you."

She cried, eyes closed and just then, she felt wayer droplets fall on her cheeks from above. She opened her eyes to find her brother crying with tears rolling down and falling on her cheeks. She then saw how her brother's bory shrieked down to it's normal form.

Nezuko sighed, about to pull the axe off tanjiro's mouth when her caught the glimpse of something shiny and sharp, about to hit tanjiro's neck when she pushed both of their bodies away, rolling towards a tree and hitting it back first. Tanjiro was now again snarling but at the figure that stood tall with a with a light blue coloured katana with spikes held tight in his hands.

Eyes deprived of any emotion, narrow slightly as if pissed at being interrupted like this. He stood up straight, blue eyes staring at nezuko. He wore a red haori with the design of blue fire at the end of his haori. He pointed his spiked katana pointed at tanjiro as his emotionless eyes looked at nezuko. He then asked, "why?.. why did you save him?"

Nezuko took a deep breath before she cried out, "he.. he is my brother! My big brother!"

The man looked at nezuko for a moment, a small frown on his face as he asked out, "that.." he pointed at the snarling and growling tanjiro before continuing, "... is your big brother?"

Nezuko's widened as she sensed, this man wasn't going to spare her brother. But before she could do anything to hide her brother, he was gone. She looked up from her crouched position to see that her brother was now in the clutches of another man— who was definitely going to kill him.

"Onii chan!" She shouted out, trying to move when the man spoke up, "don't move." He held both of tanjiro's hands in his back as tanjiro continued to growl and wiggle, trying to escape his grasp as the man spoke up again; in a calmer voice, "killing demon is my job. So ofcourse, i will take your big brother's head too."

"Wait! Nezuko hasn't killed anyone!" Nezuko shouted out in terror, "there was an aura that i could sense! It was different and i have never seen it before! I am sure it belongs to the person who killed my family! Not tanjiro! I don't know what is making him act like this but—"

The man cuts Nezuko's words in between as he says, "it's easy, a demon's blood got into his wounds, so he's transformed into a demon."

Tanjiro growled again, twisting his own hand to get them out of the man's grip but he only tightened his grip further more in tanjiro's wrists, making it impossible to even free his hands as the man continued speaking, "that is how, man eating demons multiply."

"Tanjiro would never eat anyone!" Nezuko cried out in argument as she dropped to her knees while the man spoke up with a deep frown on his face, "a moment ago, he almost ate you."

"No! I am sure he knows who i am! I won't let him hurt anyone! I will find a cure for her! I will turn her back into a human again!" Nezuko yelled in determination.

The man kept silent for a moment before he said as if stating a fact, "she won't get better. A person who becomes a demon can never go back, so.." He held up his katana, bringing tanjiro close as he held up his katana, pointing the blade straight up to his heart.

'N-no.. i already lost my family.. i can't lose onii chan too' she thought with tears in her eyes as the visuon of her family came infront of her eyes. She shouted out and bowed down with her hands joined infront of her, "stop! Please stop, please don't kill my onii chan, please.. please.."

The man's eyes widened slightly before he gritted his teeth, looking down and shaking in anger before he looked up and shouted, "never leave yourself so defenseless infront of any enemy!"

Nezuko looked up, surprised at the outburst but the man continued lashing out, "stop bowing so pitifully! If that worked your family would still have alive! How can a weakling like you, who bows down when it's time to fight, to kill or be killed.. find a cure for her brother? Or even find her enemy? If you want something you must fight for it! The weak have no power or no options! The strong will crush them in every way! Demons might know how to cute your brother but no demon will respect your whinning and begging! And for the matter i don't respect yoh either! that's the reality!"

Nezuko just stared at the man silently, as if trying to get her brain to work at what the man was talking about as he continued speaking again, voice full of harshness, "before, why did you try to hide your brother? Did you thought that would would protect her!? Why Didn't you throw your axe? Why did did you show me your back?" He held up his katana at nezuko now as he said, "that's how i was able to take him! I should have skewered both of you!"

Nezuko could feel her eyes stink for such harsh words from a stranger as she took deep breaths while tanjiro continues to growl and get away from that man. The man meanwhile stayed silent, speaking his own mind as his frown only just deeped more, ' Don't cry, don't despair. Yhose things will do you no good. Your family is dead and your brother became a demon. Your heart must be crushed, and i know your pain. You must want to cry right now. Only if i had come half a day sooner, your family might have survived. But there is not turning back time. Fill your heart with anger.. strong, pur anger.. that leaves no quarte. Anger that becomes the unwavering force that drives your limbs.'

He then bought back his katana to point it at tanjiro's chest as he looked at nezuko with his thoughts continued, 'weakness and empty promises can not protect your brother or find him a cure and the certainly can not avenge your family.' He then dragged his katana down, stabbing on tanjiro's chest as nezuko shouted out, "nooo!"

She quickly grabbed a stone and threw it at the man with full force, while he blinked before frowning a dodging it easily with the handel of his katana. He then watched as nezuko charged at him by running through the trees at the side while throwing a few more stones at him. He doudged them easily as well as he watched her run at him with her hands at her back as if she was holdong the axe in her hand. He felt a surge of anger again as he thought, 'a simple head on attack relying completely on emotions? What a fool!' He then hits the blunt handel of the katana on Nezuko's nape, making her knock out on the ground unconscious.

That is when he noticed, 'where did her axe go?' His eyes widened as he heard a swishing voice coming from above him and just of time, he doudged the axe that was coming towards him with a guaranteed hit if he didn’t notice is earlier.

He was clearly surprised as he made out the situation, ' just before passing behind the trees, she threw rocks.. and hiding by the tree, she threw her axe. She hid her hand so i wouldn't see she is unarmed. She knew she wouldn't win against me. So her plan was to strike me down after i killed her.' He continued looking down at Nezuko's unconscious body as he thought, 'this kid..'

And when he was lost in his thoughts, tanjiro wriggled his wrist out of his loosened grip and kicked him away before running towards Nezuko's unconscious body.

The man gasped, hands still on his katana as he thought, 'no! I am too late. He is going to eat him—' but his thoughts were cut short when he saw— instead on eating nezuko, tanjiro was actually protecting her.

And then, Nezuko's words repeated in his mind as he looked the brother and sister duo.

𝘵𝘢𝘯𝘫𝘪𝘳𝘰.. 𝘯𝘰𝘵 𝘵𝘢𝘯𝘫𝘪𝘳𝘰! 𝘩𝘦 𝘸𝘰𝘶𝘭𝘥 𝘯𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘳 𝘦𝘢𝘵 𝘢𝘯𝘺𝘰𝘯𝘦!

As tanjiro charged at the man with his fangs and nails out, ready to tear him apart for hitting his sister, the man thought, 'she wouldn't be the first one.. to say that and the get eaten away. Starving demons will kill and eat their own family and siblings.. because they need the energy. I have seen it countless times.'

His eyes then fell on tanjiro's injuries as he continued thinking, 'this boy is injured. It costs him energy.. to heal those wounds.. not to mention the strenght it took to transform into a demon.. he must be, undoubtedly starving right now.. and must want to eat human flesh as soon as possible. But, he is protecting her.. and focusing his anger on me.'

He kept his katana back as he saw how tanjiro lauched on him to attack but boudged him and gave a chop on his nape to make him unconscious.

'These two maybe different' he thought as he sighed.

When nezuko was unconscious, she saw herself in a dream where her dead family members where surrounding her unconscious body and kie leaned down to her ears snd whispered, "i am sorry, i have to leave you alone, nezuko. Please take care of tanjiro."

She woke up with jerk, hands clutching that the hoari her brother wore. She sat up and looked at her unconscious demon brother who now had a bamboo muzzle tied around his mouth. She then looked behind her when she heard the man speak, "so, you are up?"

She quickly pulled tanjiro closer to herself in defense as her eyes fell on the man who was now leaning against the tree with crossed arms.

The man spoke up again, "go, see an old man named keizo suzuki who lives at the foot of mount sagiri." He paused before he said again, "tell him that, somaya hakuji sent you.."

"Your sister should be fine because the son isn't out today.." he muttered while turning around as he continued his warning, "but never let her out into direct sunlight." And before nezuko could say anything, hakuji disappeared as if he was never there.

She then took tanjiro to their old house, cleaning it properly and doing their family's burrial. After they were done, she took tanjiro's hand and smiled at him while she said, "let's so, onii chan."

And they both left for their journey— for nezuko to become a demon slayer.. and for to find a cure for her big brother, tanjiro.

Hie there everyone, i have thought about my plot and tbh I want to change a few positions like, lower moon 1 is still enmu, not genya. I am going use genya in sanemi's backstory no futher spoilers XD and also, enmu remains in his position.

About obanai's role being at nakime's place and replacing upper moon 4, that's also going to change. Obanai will be replacing upper moon 6 ( ps. His backstory will be a little different ) and at nakime's place is going to be amane ( coz why not ) and she is going to replace the place of upper moon 4.

I want to make sanemi's hate for demons ( even after being a demon himself ) more sense. You get it right?
