Chapter 16: Month Five: Part Two

Notes:

First off, Happy New Year!

Secondly, Holy shit that's 1000 kudous hOLY FU-

i- how are we lacking in the mpreg department. what.

Anyway, reminder for fanfic readers! Kudous do mean the world to writers, but comments do so much more. Hearing opinions make people be like "Oh I'll finish it just for you." Because we care what others think.

So doesn't matter if the fic is ages old, comment, kudous, and be proud! it motivates some people! And brightens their day!

Chapter Text

Robert: Robert's Apartment: Current Time

This day was just getting better and better. Dammit that was sarcastic. First off, Royd updated him that the new tech to install the anti-EMP tech had yet to be properly installed on all computers, including his home one, which means he'll have to wait to work from home. Secondly, he doesn't know what to do when he's home! Beyond his phone or dramas, there is very few books and other things. Beyond the books on childcare and pregnancy, there wasn't many books.

And Three! THERE'S NO BEEF! He's not sure where Beef is in his house, but not on his lap and he doesn't wanna get off the couch. His phone died a while back so he's just been stuck here, mentally processing, until he hears a click from his apartment door.

Oh right he gave Chad a key. "Hello! I am back- I got off early- andddd you look very depressed." Robert looks at him with a very forced smile. "I just been told I can't do my job, and realized I have no hobbies or books here, with a baby that refuses to stay quiet. So yeah. I am depressed."

Chad coos a bit, walking over, smelling like . . . Caramel? That's weird. "They're just making themselves known, that's why." Chad sat down, after moving his legs, and his shoes were promptly taken off, he's given up caring until Chad began to rub at his feet.

He didn't know he had such pressure down there. "Oh what in the-" Oh that felt so good. Chad smirked. "Yeah, the feet have a bunch of sensory things that we don't even realize, same deal with our pelvises, especially the groin areas." Robert looked at him, and Chad just is smirking with that missing tooth smile.

"Why. Do you know that?" Chad shrugged. "Had to treat my mama in some shape or form that wasn't just cash and a roof over our heads. It makes it easier on everything? How do you think I have all these chizzeled abs and yet move so smoothly?" Robert couldn't help but roll his eyes, as he smiled.

His hand soon went to his bump, where their children squirmed and moved. "They take after you, you fuckass." Chad looks over. "Yeah? How?" Robert gave him a flat look. "Always having the last word, never staying long in the same place. . . ." Chad huffs. "I mean you're right but damn." Robert smirks. "Yeah but we got roughtly four months until this is over. . . .and I have. Nothing to do."

Chad went quiet for a moment, and he sees him actually thinking. "Is your brain trying to form a braincell?" Chad gives him a look as he gives a smug cat smile back at him.

"How about You watching my little niece Carmen?" Robert blinks. "You would trust me with your niece?" Chad nods. "Yeah, seeing as we both live near each other, and you're expecting my kid with little to no practice with kids. . . Would that work?" Robert blinks. "That and I have some very nice books you can borrow! And. . . some sewing stuff. . . " Robert blinks.

"Sewing?" Chad nods. "I do embroidery, cross-stitch, and watching my plants. Makes for a nice area. Wait. . . You haven't seen my apartment?" Robert paused, then shook his head. Chad immediately got up. "Welp! I need to change out of this suit anyway, and don't put on shoes, it's only a walk away." Yeah. In L.A where things plague the sidewalk.

But still, it was weird as he walked over. He's not at the point where he has to waddle yet but still. Still, he was plagued as he walked barefoot to Chad's apartment, Beef behind him, finally coming out of his room, yawning like he just woke up. Lucky ass.

Sure enough, it was covered in various plants, especially near the balcony. Light poured in, showcaseing all of the plants. He could even see some planters outside. "Hehe. . . It isn't much, but it cuts cost down on some food. There's basil, and some other herbs outside." It smelt so nice, and looking around, there was a couch, a few chairs, a TV, but there was books and other items scattered.

There was barely any walls to show, but he could see the color of the walls was a deep rich dark green. "I- Holy Shit." He didn't know how to explain it. Compared to his place, Chad's house was nice and cozy.

"Yeah, Prism comes here often just to talk gossip and get high as shit. Good time though."

The next few hours were discussing ideas, and him exploring Chad's house, with permission. One of the three main rooms, beyond the bathroom, was a room filed with files, yarn of various sizes, and various needles. "This is where I do taxes, plant planning, and also the yarn stuff."

They discussed that he'd watch Carmen next week, and he was given some novels called. . . Percy Jackson? Chad smirked. "What? I like a good story, no matter how old it is." Huh. Chad made some more chicken when it was dark out, and then cut it up into some rice, and it had the spice he was looking for. He moaned about it. "Heh. Little one is spicy?" He nods. "They do like spice."

Beef got an unseasoned chicken part and was bitting into it happily.

Chad smirks. Robert looks at him with this look. "Do not. I am tired, and i- OW!" A surge of electricity was felt. "Ow. . . " He then felt warm hands around him. "Are you alright? I'm guessing that was Little Pepper's fault?"

Robert let out a chuckle, despite the pain that was felt. "Y-yeah. . . Fucking ow. . . But. . . Little pepper?" Chad shrugged. "THey small, they little, and-" The building went dark. ". . . Apparently they're as strong as me." It was just pure silence for a bit.

"Boo." Chad said as he lit his fire. Robert then burst out laughing. "OH GODDAMMIT." He had nearly forgot about that conversation.

The power came back later, but they were talking away with lit candles, while Robert yelped as he pricked his finger trying to cross-stitch. Beef was snoring nearby the plants.

He'll think about what he has to do next week, as the comfort of what he got took over.
