Summary
The U.S.S. Enterprise has set off on its virgin journey into deep space, with the hugely lauded command team of S'chn T'gai Spock and James T. Kirk at the helm. Starfleet has high hopes for the Enterprise and its crew, believing it will become the shining beacon of light that will pave the way for future space travel.
It's just a shame Spock holds such intense dislike for his captain.

Long tbr fics for the win
Edit: Enjoyed, very light payoff for relationship, some contrived bits on the plot twist, fixed in post I think. However it's sins are covered under the banner of being one of the best star trek fics I have ever seen in adressing the material of TOS especially from such an angle. Would have liked to see some things expanded on and there were several occ bits but overall I've never seen any other fic attack this subject matter on such a scale and I am awed.
Would recommend, definitely worth a read. Would be a novel quality I would buy tbh. For something written across so many years I see why the most glaring errors have occurred and the dedication necessary to complete a work this long is massive, especially when delays occur. If it was a regular novel would be in need of serious editing. Don't reread when looking for something fast paced, I had to skim and skip a lot of the missions. Dragged a lot or was uncomfortable in an unpleasant way in spots.
Tldr, the if AOS had TOS adventures masterpost, subplot spirk, subplot stalking.
