“Excuse me?” Orion Pax blurted, voice rising with disbelief. Surely with Councilman Halogen’s next words, he would clarify—that it was a mistake, or perhaps some sort of joke, although the High Council were not known for such jokes.
And then, as one, they rose, and they saluted.
Councilman Ratbat—relic of the era of Quintessa. Councilman Halogen, who agitated restlessly for the annexation of a dying spaceport with dead space bridges. Councilman Sigil, sparkbrother to Halogen, and who oversaw and guided the guilds, controlling every step of a mech’s life.
It clicked, finally, what they were doing.

The war with the Quintessons was finally over, but not without great cost. The Primes had died, energon no longer flowed, and, apparently, Primus had decided to cripple the entire next generation of Cybertronians by creating them without transformation cogs. And to make things even more stressful somehow, Ratchet had become very emotionally invested in the well-being of one Orion Pax.
In other words, I took that one mention of Doctor Ratchet in the Transformers One movie, combined it with Optimus and Ratchet being "old friends" in Transformers Prime, and this was the result.
