Comment on A SLIP IN REALITY (KNY x Reader)

  1. A fun tidbit to note it’s that pretty much everyone from before the Edo period is actually pretty woke by modern standards. Heck, Muzan would be from the early heian era, meaning that he grew up in an environment that still had some pretty matriarchal traits! The further back in Japanese history you go, it gets more and more female dominant, and until the European version of sexism(as no matter the culture, humans love putting people in boxes since our brains love patterns, though those boxes arent guaranteed to be bad, but WILL exist) gets introduced, things are actually fairly chill for women, gays, transfolk, and there wasnt any stigma against sexwork or fooling around. (A lot of Japanese media like anime/manga tries to paint a different picture that’s more in line with japan’s modern sentiments((which totally suck btw)), but historical records and uncovered letters from the time dont lie.)

      1. Yeah! I’m not saying it’s like being at a pride parade or a womens’ rights rally, but it’s still pretty progressive, especially when you get to the Nara period (the one directly before heian, hence why muzan being from the EARLY part of that period is relevant)where clans have a fair chance of having a lady in the head position.

The funniest part of all this context though, is that Akaza is from the Edo period😂(that’s when Europe makes contact with Japan and the version of sexism we all know shows up in Japan if you need context.)
