Yeah! I’m not saying it’s like being at a pride parade or a womens’ rights rally, but it’s still pretty progressive, especially when you get to the Nara period (the one directly before heian, hence why muzan being from the EARLY part of that period is relevant)where clans have a fair chance of having a lady in the head position.
The funniest part of all this context though, is that Akaza is from the Edo period😂(that’s when Europe makes contact with Japan and the version of sexism we all know shows up in Japan if you need context.)
