I knew I wanted to do a crossover fic between Minecraft and another media that dealt with galactic exploration. I had thought of doing Star Trek, Firefly, or maybe even Cowboy Bebop, but Lightyear’s story really inspired me to go with Space Rangers.
Alex is definitely in better hand’s with her lieutenant than she would be with a certain executive. I could have always chosen not to use his name, and maybe in the future I might change it, but I used every single creative mind from both Pixar as well as the Minecraft’s creator’s names in this opening chapter and it seemed out of place not to include him as well.
Even though it was very heartbreaking to split up the happy couple, Alex will have a goal in mind and something to strive for as she tries to survive this strange, new planet.
Will the planet be a world of cubes? You’ll just have to read to find out 😉
