Summary
General Iroh started his vacation on a low note when a letter from home brings nothing but bad news. His only comforts were cabinets full of tea he’d never drink.
Meanwhile across the city, Detective Mako meditates on his past, his present and his future. He’s not too sure he likes the conclusions he reaches.
Eighty years in the past, Prince Lu Ten is given an ultimatum, move to the soon to be conquered city, or be removed from the line of succession. The kidnapping only added salt to the wound.
Then everything went dark.
The spirits have a mission for Mako and Iroh, and one split second decision will change the course of history.
Iroh's world is crashing down around him, Mako has never felt more alone, and Lu Ten should have died. Three men from different times, and different back grounds have been set on the same path of destiny, one that may change them all, forever.

Summary
Mako struggles with maintaining his new relationship as outside forces puts pressure on it. He feels like things might go smoother if he didn’t feel seconds away from screwing it all up.
For the first time in years, Lu Ten felt in control of his life. This swiftly changes after a run in with his family that leads him and his friends to the spirit forsaken city, he had almost died in.
Iroh had always struggled with people, but now it appeared he finally found two people who could accept him for who he was. It was keeping them safe that proved difficult.
Four years have passed, since Iroh II and Mako first landed in the past.
With their bonds to one another firmly tied together, the three must now confront a past and future they've been long since hiding from.
The clock is ticking as time moves forward and the three men can no longer ignore the pull of the war. With children running amuck over the Earth Kingdom and dangers lurking around every corner, their personal struggles aren't the only thing they need to survive.

Summary
Lu Ten’s sleep was haunted with images of the Avatar falling as electricity sparked through the air. A fear of failure gripped his heart and muddied his thoughts.
On the opposite end of the spectrum, Iroh seemed to be faring just fine. That is until a figure from his fake past becomes all too real.
The Fire Nation had always been a foreign place to Mako, no matter how much he wished otherwise. Traveling through the nation left him feeling somewhere between overwhelmed and excited.
They all have a choice to make.
After what happened below the City of Ba Sing Se, everything changed, even if the important things remained the same.
As the days slowly ticked down to the end of summer, the three men find themselves clinging to moments of happiness and bracing themselves for the inferno to come. The future hinges on the actions of today and they won't fail again. They can’t.

Iroh's always been a man of two worlds which is only made more clear as the divides post war push at his pressure points. With a new job and developing relationship dynamics, Iroh's going to have to carve his own path forward.
Meanwhile, caught between a rock and a hard place, Mako finds himself juggling far too many identities and titles. Who is he and who the world wants are two different people and soon one would have to give.
The title of Fire Lord had been promised to Lu Ten at birth and it was a goal he had long worked for. Lu Ten bares the weight as best he can as his family, the world and the ever changing future tries to pull him under.

A promise to the spirits years before now comes to fruition as the landscapes between humans and spirits shifts.
With the world trying to rediscover peace now that the war is over, changing allies, friendships and family dynamics means for a rough ride. Dreams of a towering city and a place for people of all walks to come together chase their footsteps, leaving the future they know balanced on a rocky edge. Spirits always get what they want.
