There’s another beat.
“Y’know, this is usually the part where the rest of the guys tell me to get a wife. Or a husband. So I don’t get burnt out or whatever ya called it.”

“Dean?” Sam’s voice is dead in his ears. It doesn’t register. It blurs into his breathing and his heartbeat. He can’t read Sam’s lips either, even staring right at them.
Dean just nods along like he heard what Sam said, like he isn’t drowning in mortal fear. He knows it won’t kill him (probably). Still feels like it will. Like his rabbit heart might simply explode, that happens to small mammals sometimes. He wouldn’t be shocked if it’d happen to humans too.
All of a sudden, in an instant, they drop dead because of fear.
