But a promise made was a promise broken. That was before she'd met Peter, and her life got turned over in a whirlwind of emotions and new expectations for the future. A new sense of responsibility overcame her, similar to her relationship to her protegee, but different in its own right. More personal than even the kid she'd come to care about and root for in her previous life. Being a drifter no longer had an appeal to her.
