High Point Nature Preserve is a dream - 400 acres of hardwood forest, a dedicated staff, and hawks, owls, and eagles under his care. He can see himself living out the rest of his days there, retiring eventually on the edge of the Preserve that’s helped to make him who he is - along with a tight circle of friends and family.
Yet, he isn't settled. Some youthful, idealistic part of him longs for adventure and travel. Yearns even more deeply for someone to share it with.
It seems like those things could be in reach when he meets Mycroft Holmes, an Englishman visiting family in the US. Only one problem: Mycroft leaves for England at the end of the summer.

In a hushed voice, Nie Huaisang asks, "Did you know they used a redwood forest when filming scenes for Endor in Return of the Jedi?"

Eddie had been drinking his coffee, sitting outside on his back porch, trying not to get overwhelmed at all the shit he still had to do at his new place. The bird, a sweet little thing with a yellow face, was a nice distraction, flitting around, probably looking for food through the overgrown garden. It doesn’t take more than three minutes before his phone buzzes with Buck’s response.
