Summary
The world was crafted by four elementals. One of the sky, earth, fire, and sea. For the sky, there was a great bird said to create lightning when they flapped their wings. For the earth, there was a giant badger who molded the mountains and valleys. For the fire, there was a fiery hound that scorched wherever they padded. For the sea, there was a serpentine dragon who bent the waters to her will.
Targaryens have worshiped the sea elemental and provided a living sacrifice every 25 years to the dragon. This year it was the boy they raised since birth to die for their prosperity, riches, and gluttony. Daemon would never know any better, having been raised in isolation, ignorant of the world.
