Summary

Rin grew up in an orphanage
Even Father Fujimoto had no clue that the newborn child was survived from snowstorm.Luckily,travelers found Rin and send him to an orphannage. But Rin’s life was still a mess. He figured the world must hate him, and only scraped by with his cooking skills.
The good news， He was about to land a chef gig at True Cross Academy—this insanely fancy school—for around two months. The bad news， He’d started to realize he might be a demon (and Rin had zero idea True Cross was actually an exorcist training camp at first).
Rin tried his hardest to play dumb, but secrets can’t stay buried forever.
Fujimoto was eaten up with guilt over almost writing off such a kind soul. Bon? He was low-key hooked on the guy with the blue flames—there was something about Rin that just drew him in. Yukio, meanwhile, finally felt warmth he’d been missing, all thanks to his older brother.

“Good morning, future exorcists,” was the first thing they heard when the door burst open. The exwires were met with the uncannily cheerful attitude radiating from their headmaster. The mood in the room shifted; cheerful Mephisto was never good news.
“Hello, Mr. Faust,” Yukio greeted the man, doing his best to sound welcoming, “to what do we owe this visit?”
Mephisto theatrically took off his hat and grabbed something inside it. In a puff of pink, glittery smoke, he pulled out what looked like an official letter.
“I have a special mission from the Vatican for you.”
The students perched up in their seats, some looking curious, others looking nervous.
“You will all be sent for a diplomatic meeting with a certain individual that the Vatican wants on their side.” Mephisto read while widely grinning. “Your job will be to get him to join the True Cross, while also gaining information on him and his weaknesses in case the alliance doesn’t work.”

Instantly, Yukio noticed that something was different about his older brother. Something in the gleam of his eyes, in his vibes, in the way the curl of his lips were slightly cruel and not all innocuous happiness.

“Was it you?” Yukio asked the demon, referring to the bite, the wounds on his hips that Yukio had no doubt ‘Rin’ could smell. “Were they your tendencies, bleeding through?”

They didn’t speak of him at all, not until the night that he came back.”

Rin runs away from True Cross Academy after his lineage is exposed and he is released by the Vatican. He comes back more than a year later lined in bandages and with a red haired teen at his side, the pair asking for a favor.
