Felix practically begged for it, for something real and true, something authentic. His big doe eyes trying to knock down any defenses Oliver had up.
Oliver sighed, unsure of what exactly he was getting into and trying not to panic from his lack of control over this. He wrapped his pinky around Felix’s, who at that moment felt like he was going to burn to a crisp from just that one point of pinky-to-pinky contact.
“I promise, Felix. The whole truth and nothin’ but.” He grimaced after he said it but tried to pass it off as a weak smile.
“Pinky promise.” Felix replied adamantly, wiggling his littlest finger in Oliver’s grasp. Oliver snorted slightly at the sight, then tried to cover it up with a sniffle like he didn’t do it at all and squeezed in return.

Felix drags himself from the dirt and shivers rack all the way down his spine.
