Actual summary:
On the sphere, even the slums had suppressants regularly supplied. After all, it was easier to deal with the ‘mutts’ of society if they weren’t constantly spiraling in feral rages.
Rudo had taken his dose of suppressants *that* morning. Regto had helped him swallow the thick, bitter capsule like always.
Less than twelve hours later, he hit the ground.Now, almost a month after falling from the sphere, Rudo finally realizes why the Apostles cared enough to give them suppressants.
OR:
Little itty bitty adorable puppy Rudo hits the ground, meets annoying stinky alpha Enjin and his pack of hooligans, and has to learn about pack dynamics. Something he knows fuck all about, while also falling into an absolutely vile presentation fever.

Rudo let out a weak, frustrated groan, dropping his head back against the stone. Going back inside meant facing the gauntlet of worried looks and questions again, and his burning hands didn't even feel capable of holding a fork right now anyway. The fire in his wrists was pulsing in perfect time with the thumping behind his eyes. He just needed a minute to sit here in the quiet and close his eyes…
“Rudo?”
His eyes snapped open.
For a brief, disoriented second, he almost expected to see Regto standing over him, cool compress in hand.
Instead, Enjin was crouched in front of him, one arm resting on his knee. The older man's sharp eyes were narrowed, taking in the posture, the untouched plate of food, and the heavy sweat dampening Rudo's hair.
OR,
Rudo gets sick. Enjin's there to help.

They all headed in a cluster towards the trucks parked far from the battle. However, Rudo spotted a glint of metal in the corner of his eye, and he paused in his tracks. It was in a pile of trash by the lake. Rudo crouched, sticking his gloved hand into it and rummaging through.
“Whatcha' looking for?” Rudo jumped slightly, shocked at how quickly Riyo had approached him from behind.
“Just thought I saw something interesting…” Rudo said, placing a hand on the nape of his neck. Riyo’s mouth formed an “o” as she watched Rudo rummage through the trash, and perking up when he grabbed something.

“Say ‘Enjin’…” Surprise flickers through Rudo; his eyes finding Enjin. The cleaner’s eyes narrow, but he continues to stare straight ahead, studying Mymo with impressive intensity.
“How’s Alto doing?” The world goes deafeningly quiet around them; his eyes are still on Enjin. He watches in real time as a harrowed expression takes over Enjin’s face, all traces of his intense glower gone within seconds. The cleaner's eyes snapped to him a moment later, whether out of instinct or something else, looking profoundly terrified.
What a rare sight to see.

It won’t mean anything, if he stays during movie nights instead of immediately retreating to his room. It won’t mean anything if he’s giggling while sitting on counter tops while Zanka and Riyo cook. It won’t matter if he ruffles Rudo’s hair or let Enjin put a hand on his shoulder. It shouldn’t matter. It won’t matter.
He’s still got a relatively easy job to do. And a reward to gain. How hard can it be?
