Summary
A large number of unsolved murders has set Brooklyn and Brooklyn Visions Academy on edge. The murders are always frighteningly brutal and the killer seems to elude the Police despite their efforts to identify them and bring them to justice. That is of no concern to Miles Morales, who is now on Summer holidays and is determined to enjoy it unencumbered. This summer is different for the teen, who gets a new neighbour in the form of one Hobie Brown, a charismatic and eccentric punk who battles demons of his own. As the two become closer, so does the Butcher of Brooklyn.

After a particularly close encounter with some members from the Spider Society, you blip yourself into Earth 42: the version of Brooklyn without a Spider-Man. Here, the Prowler runs the streets, and he doesn't take too kindly to you encroaching on his territory.

Also, just an fyi: this is set to happen after all of the movies, but since the third one isn't out currently, I obviously have no idea what's gonna happen in it - so this fic may or may not be inconsistent, but idk I just wanted to put that out there :P

An out-of-season snowstorm catches New York’s Spider-Men off guard. What begins as a routine patrol ends with Peter and Miles facing something that goes far beyond the cold: instincts, reactions they can’t fully explain, and a bond that starts to change in unexpected ways.
Latency is a collection of fragments where the Spider-Sense sharpens, the body moves before the mind can follow, and the connection between both Spider-Men evolves in unpredictable directions. There’s no straight line—only moments suspended between calm and chaos, between duty and instinct.
The original version of this story is written in Spanish, but I wanted to share it in English as well. English chapters will be uploaded two at a time, so the Spanish version will update first.
Updates will be sporadic. I have absolutely no idea where this is going, but I’m completely incapable of writing short stories, so knowing myself, a plot will probably show up eventually. Or maybe—who knows?—this could be the first time I actually finish one. Hope’s the last thing to go, after all.

Peter wished he knew what he knew now back then, he could’ve done so much more.
Maybe he might’ve been able to do something for Harry if Curt Connors and Norman Osborn told the truth about what Venom was rather than simply calling it an exo-suit. Peter had done what was said to be impossible, against all odds he had managed to separate Harry from Venom without killing him, but the host was left in a coma.
Maybe if he saw the symbiote for what it really was before he lost control, he could’ve convinced Harry of it’s true nature and kept Venom from every happening. He couldn't stop Venom as he terrorized the city.
Maybe if he knew how Kraven tracked him to the Emily-May foundation, he would still have a place to make a decent living for once. Something he hadn't had since his mentor's descent into madness was dangling in reach before being taken away again.
Maybe if he knew that the Particle Accelerator was still powered, he wouldn’t have hit the stupid button.
Then again, if knew this was the result...
A second chance?
A way to save his best friend?
Peter Parker was a hero through and through, this was a opportunity he couldn't afford to mess up this time.
